There are people out here who talk about how you can tell he is lying and I agree with them. I was taught by family and have studied myself how to tell if someone is being truthful or not and CIQ CEO is not being truthful. If you watch this video in it's unedited version watch his eyes. They keep going up and to his left which shows he is accessing the parts of his brain responsible for imagination. If they go up and to the right, it shows a person is recalling memory which his do not. BUSTED!
@mookow2 Aren't you listening to what he says? This is an editted version that makes it sound like he's condemming himself/the company by agreeing with the (correct) allegations made against them. It's humorous edit of an actual video CIQ put out (although this version is probably more true >_>).
The amount of people in these comments that don't get that this is an edit/parody is fucking astounding.
@ZarniwoopVannHarl why they would admit the largest scam in our history that have been running over these years, too early to say it's a scam. but we don't know how much of the actual personal identifying data is being saved in servers, but we do know. that they do send every keystroke you press to their server. its quite ironic that a program that was suppose to find all the power hunger programs from the phone is actually the one causing the biggest problem.
You know, he sounds like hostage making a forced statement while having a gun pointed at them out of camera view: "The are treating me well, I'm fine." LOL. He probably has his pink slip being dangled in front of him. If he doesn't make those statements, they fire him! Because hes a wuss, he is willing to lie to keep his job.
I wonder if Carrier's clients know that Carrier uses software from a company called LeadLander to track the mobile devices of clients? You can identify tracking software with a Firefox add-on called Ghostery.
Why are we never asked for approval of your so called performance measurement on our devices? Why are we never asked for approval to use our bandwidth to send secret reports to your servers? and most of all, why did you try to make it impossible to be removed from devices?
They should be prosecuted as domestic spies and terrorists. Tell everyone about this app. Let's bring the media in and tell your local sheriff and officials that their information on their phones may have been made public or used against them. The power is back to the people threw our facebooks, youtubes and social media we can bring this pathetic spies down. My facebook friends will hear about this, and so will my youtube friends. We as One.
@GX1XD1PD They won't let people comment because after it was exposed what the company was doing I guess they got flooded with comments on their channel and the video they posted after Trevor broke this violation to our rights. This company won't even respond to a letter from Congress. Mind you Al Franken drafted it and he far from a scary man, but it isn't him asking personally. It is Congress asking the questions. I hope CIQ's CEO goes to fuck you up the ass prison not club fed for this.
That guy's lying, or not telling the whole story. Doesn't help that he barely looks into the camera when he's talking, or looks away from the camera. If a person in front of me were to do that, I'd see red flags.
And as far as his "and we don't record keystrokes" is concerned, well then why do keystrokes even show up in a log, as can be clearly seen in this video?: T17XQI_AYNo (search for it)
As for me & smartphones, logging & GPS, I'm DONE. Going back to my Sony W980 flipphone.
How come you can not opt out of this. How about Sprint and Carrier IQ release a tool that removes this from ALL phones.
Carrier IQ is a liers and snakes. There app is indeed running like a rootkit and is hidden. There is no opt out for this and to get it off you have to flash a custom rom on the phone.
@mattbentley611 If you read most contracts cell providers have now, technically you do not own the phone when you pay for it on that contract. It is considered a lease for all intense purposes in the contract where you are getting the phone for a discounted price or even free. In order to truly take ownership, you must purchase the phone at full price from the provider or a third party which most cell companies frown on both. This is why I for the last few years I purchase my phones outright.
@mattbentley611 Not a problem. Most people don't understand or even know about this. I don't even think law makers do because a lease means there is a set turn in date. With cell contracts there's none on the phone. I'm surprised that providers haven't been sued on this, especially when you're paying well over the fair market value for the phone. Blame Apple for this shift. Jobs insisted the iPhone's contract be written this way to screw us the control freak scumbag he was and I'm glad he's gone
@danblackracing Debugging only shows the data, input, and output the application being debugged is designed to collect, use, or manipulate meaning that data, input, and output has a purpose. It is being used in some fashion. So what Trevor exposed with his debugging of Carrier IQ is being collected and used by the company and the cell providers. This is not a conspiracy you fool. It is a scary fact that they are illegally spying you fool.

I don't believe I agreed to have the ALL THE KEYSTROKES all my passwords transmitted to a third party in an unencrypted form.
Can Carrier IQ guarantee that they will never get hacked?
How much insurance does Carrier IQ have to insure against a class action law suit from the 141,000,000+ phone owners that had all their financial passwords stolen an used in financial fraud or identity theft.
@PureCX You're so full of it. Please provide the paragraph and line number where I signed an agreement when I purchased my phone that says that everything I type on my phone will be tracked, collected, sent over an unencrypted connection and held for an unknown period of time and sent to unknown companies, and governments?
