This reminds me of a tall slender pale skinned dark haired girl from Holland with flowers in her hair, there's a hill filled with flowers and a windmill on the top. She's in a long white dress, and the mud is dirtying the bottom. She's walking and she get's to a cliff, with raging waters below. She takes a step forward, and falls off the edge, today in science i learnt that if a fat guy jumped too, they would fall and land at the same time ;)
Ludo's playing the Barbican 1st October. Tickets (if still available) are selling pretty fast so buy one! I'm seeing him there and I can't wait. He'll also appear at the Concrete and Glass on the 2nd October (amongst other performers though). Google for more details.
personally i think this song is a lot more effectively portrayed when played slower. it sounds more delicate yet more passionate when slower. however einaudi's performances are always awesome!! i just think its beauty is tripled when its slower.
I seem to recall reading that this piece was written for a young Greek girl of the same name (possibly the daughter of one of Einaudi's friends). He was trying to capture some of her "cheerful energy" - maybe that explains the tempo...
I listen to classic fm but like to think i have enough nouse, self control, and decorum to wait for the end of a piece before applauding. By the way, this mans music is out of this world.
I think I know why, The piano he is playing on is a steinway, the best piano in the world. But i see what you mean it sounds choppy when i play it too, but i only have an upright piano
i saw einaudi at this concert in the barbican. he was great, but it was marred by hundreds of classic fm listeners who had never attended a recital before applauding before he'd finished some of the pieces
Pretty poor quality, it made me turn off unfortunately :(

it's never choppy when i play it, and i'm 14 :S i love it, it's so nice to play. it's an amazing song and he plays it to perfection.

im 14 too. i just said it sounds so smooth when he plays it. when recording it it sounds loud and buzzy on the camera.
robynoo 4 years ago
he gets it perfect and it sounds so nice. when i play it it sounds quite choppy. I wonder if it's how I use the pedal...
