i was in burma in 2009 and the people have much fear again, you can see that there is anger in the eyes of the monks that they have to hold back.
people are not allowed to talk about politics anymore, everybody is paranoid cause there could be underground police everywere.
me and my guide "tom" talked in "heho" in the north of myanmar, in the middle of the lake about the problem,it is very difficult. i tried to get in contact as promised to him after i got back to europe but i never got an answer.
I have so much respect for the people who risk their lives just so they'll live for a better tomorrow. Its why I dont understand why so many conservatives accuse Obama as being a "muslim dictator." I mean I bet if we sent them to Burma for a while they'd appreciate the quality of life here and the fact that they can actually speak their mind about the Prez without getting shot.
This film really fills me with disgust. It is so hard to believe that these things still happen while we in the West all live in democratic countries. I have got so much respect for all people that risk their lives in order to save their country
This has got to be one of the most dangerous professions in the world.
I have nothing else about the utmost respect that I can give to any filmmaker. These people recording the evil atrocities in Burma have A LOT of COURAGE to do what they do. These reporters are putting their lives on the line to send whatever videos, photos and audio recordings they have to outside new broadcasts in order to have people see the sadistic things happening in Burma.
The iron fist of the military and will of the people cannot cohesively co-exist; one will submit to the other. I am humbled and in awe watching this documentary. My respect and prayers go out to the people of Burma; the citizens and reporters whose thirst for change and audacious dissent are a testament to the human spirit. Keep fighting!
There will be much more international awareness soon because Burma VJ is nominated for an oscar for best documentary.... I hope they win. Billions of people watch the oscars around the world, so it will be a perfect place to make a political statement and remind the people of the world what is still happening in Burma.
Tuesday 26th of January this will be shown on More4 on UK tv. I had tears streaming down my face just watching it. My utmost respect to the reporters, monks and thousands of others who supported them. This is disgraceful behaviour and the Military 'generals' are nothing more than greedy elitist filth. One reporter or monk is worth a milion of them. It is difficult to have faith in humanity when we see this but I truely wish them success and those responsible being held accountable some day.
Very brave and thanks a million for posting!!! i hate them... because of them... now we r separated from my mother land!!! they must die cruely soon... ! they must give their soul to hell for their bloody hands... one day.
i think there should be a massive opposition, struggle... u can gain freedom through guerrilas, civil war...because as u see protests give nothing but victims, especially weaponless.
you know what ? .. most of the soldiers can't even read. they just know the order and demand from the above. thats the problem. . . i was very angry while was watching them shooting the people and the monks.
i can't even understand. what /? were they learning to shoot their own people stead of protecting the citizens.
@sithuwu they have no relegion they were raise since they were very young and being force to seperate from their parents. none of our soldiers educated they were all being force or rape

@tapsteve "It is difficult to have faith in humanity"
Its even more difficult because these people received no help from the powers around the world.
