I heard this young lady playing in the background while I was waiting for a performance to start. I asked a young man if he knew the artist and I wrote it down and downloaded and it is FANTASTIC. I am not South African but I feel the words and the beat and it is sooooooo good. Her voice is pure and clear, with wonderful melodic overtones. I can't wait til I get the latest one!!
Only those that are rooted in BEING can really understand this song. No need to be Xhosa to know that it's deep. You only need to be fully awake to understand the melody. Ngwaneso pele eya pele. Ke mosotho empa mmino wa hao o nkgapile mikutlo. Halala Simphiwe halala!
Every time I hear this song I am close to tears. A testament of the coolest vocal delivery reminiscent of Ella Fitzgerald but as contemporary in reggae style and lyrc as Bjork's Venus As A Boy. She lives amongst us Simphiwe Dana, how honoured we are....
We are proud of this sister. She is down-to-earth, conscious and loves her people. I am honoured to be one of her many friends. Love you, mntasekhaya!
nice one @NuttiSoul!Even I can hear that she has a good pianist...And as for calling...hahaha...No offen bt I am sure she has got a large supply of pianists from her fellow South african citizens!
i love your song it,s lovely bravo my girl.i played with hugh masekela, miriam makeba, brenda fassie, kojo antwi etc.actually am a ghanian and played the keyboard.am based in the u.s.a. in worcester ma.my cell num 001-774-242-2653.have time and call me.
I saw an interview of her on a magazine show called cosmopolitan, from where i found the interview they neva mentioned her name but I knew I'de fall into her music on youtube. I love her sound and what she stands for, something bout her reminds me of Erykah Badu they should do a duet 2gthr.
(verse 1) Do it like this then Zandisile I pin my hopes on you I have seen what you will never have to see We have passed the deep end Always remember you are my inheritance
(verse 2) You will cross this river And take up the journey When I can no longer continue It’s the brave ones who cannot be defeated You are a brave one Please do listen in the silence For the sound that will show you the way Don’t you worship tears You are the power don’t look down on yourself
she is a beautiful lady, with an equabeautiful voice. a question: wat isit with the dutch and thei love for s.a. music, i wanna know, its lyk me and my love for opera
Ohhh what a song...my gosh

A mother's love for her children indeed, instilling such values to one's kids should be every mother's mission!!
Ndibonile ongeke ukubone wena ( i've seen what u'll never see)
Uze ungazideli (dont give up on yo self)
Uzowuwela lomlambo (u will cross this river)
Uthathe ndakuphelelwa mna ( take over when I'm done)
I still love this song to bits, thanks Simphiwe for such beautiful music!!
