I remember when I was 4 years old. The first game I played was Sonic 2 on my brother's SEGA Mega Drive. I then went and played Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Sonic 1. The memories... I wish I could travel back and time and relive my Mega Drive exposure. Nowadays I have to play them through game collections. They're great but it's just not the same as when you play it on the good old SEGA console.

I never had the consoles when I was a kid, it was until I turned 11 that I figured out to play Sonic 2 on my computer.

Oddly enough, it was on SEPTEMBER fucking 11th, 2001 that I downloaded Sonic 2, and I didn't understand why my family was watching the TV and not saying a word. "Hey check it out I can do a spin dash why are you guys crying??"

@remainingnameless Not exactly. I find Sonic 3 and Knuckles to actually be better than Sonic 2. (However, Sonic 3 and Knuckles to me has this air about it that just doesn't fit with Sonic 1 and 2.)

@Kazuo1G Sonic 3 is a great game but I think that was the first game where they attempted to make sonic look appealing to teenagers, which was his inevitable downfall. What, 3-4 years later he's talking, then Shadow is introduced, and the series basically shit the bed there.

Good game, but as you said doesn't have the same style as Sonic 2.

My friends can't understand why I dont like much modern games, especially hyper real games, the ones that tries SOOOOO hard to emulate real life... They think that those games are the only ones that are worth the time playing. They have TONS and TONS of shooters and barely one or two other type of games. The only thing my dad could get to keep me entertained when I was younger was a Sega Genesis, and boy was it the only thing necessary, because I played it all the time when I could...Although I had the first two Sonic games at the same time, I always preferred to play Sonic 2 for whatever reason, so while Green Hill Zone is the nostalgic start for the majority of Sonic fans, Emerald Hill Zone is my nostalgic start...It feels good to have practically grown up with Sonic
