  • love the danelectro being played nice

  • @misterguitar1967 is that a baritone guitar?

  • @Gatorrock787 Thats what they called them initially but then they called it a 6 string bass or dano bass it had a differant function Fender made them too

  • @spacepatrolman danelectro guitars had fiberglass bodies look at the video dance dance dance the fendertones the guitarist has a danelectro electric 12 string

  • Dig that big ole Gibson

  • I wish you had sea of heartbreak too. that ones my favorite. all of your videos are so awesome gator.

  • @candyekane "Sea of Heartbreak" is a good one. But for whatever reason, Don didn't perform it on TV much. Also, it's not written by Don Gibson... but by Hal David.

  • I love the way that Jordinairre kept bopping up when hitting notes..lol

  • Jim Reeves said he thought this was the greatest Country song ever written.

  • I think Jimmy Capps was the original guitarist on the record. I've heard that song covered by many, but the original Don Gibson RCA recording still gives me chills. A country music standard for the next hundred years.

  • @ArkRed1 You may be right. When Jimmy came to Atlanta a few months back he talked about his friendship with Don Gibson. He did tell me that Hank Garland AND Chet Atkins both play guitar on "Oh Lonesome Me".

  • @ArkRed1 All of them were on SPEED take a look at him he is flying high which is alright, but it took it's toll in the end like the rest of ROCK and COUNTRY stars ...good stuff ,such a distinct voice and rythem .

  • (As usual) after I found this I played it 4 dozen times...........JUST MEMORIZING

THANK YOU gator.........you are truly the man preserving and presenting

COUNTRY AMERICANA .....an effort worth preserving.

  • I was once a disc jockey at a little thousand watt radio station in Dothan, Alabama, WAGF and It seems as though I distinctly remember Don Gibson singing "A Legend in my Time"..but I can't find it on YouTube, so far, anyway. If somebody has it, would you please post it? Thanks.

  • What a gorgeous beast of a man. And he gave us this glorious ballad too. Just like me to get a crush on a dead man. Oh well. But the song - this song will live forever!

  • thank you so much for posting this.

  • @bankerbertha Maybe Rockingator II ?

  • @Gatorrock787 THANK YOU FOR THE DON GIBSON VIDEOS. THE GUITAR PICKER WITH DON IS GENE SLOAN. I DONT KNOW HOW YOU GET YOUR VIDEOS BUT I SURE WOULD LIKE A COPY FOR MY OWN. THE VIDEO OF LONESOME NUMBER ONE MADE IN 1963. I KNEW GENE SLOAN WELL YEARS AGO AND I SURE WOULD LIKE ANY INFORMATION OF HOW TO RECONNECT ...THANK LOADS FOR PROVIDING THE AMAZING VIDEO, IT BROUGHT BACK VIVID MEMORIES OF LONG AGO YESTERDAYS AND REINFORCED SOUNDS THAT HAD BECOME DIMMED IN MEMORY ALONG WITH A FEW GRATEFUL TEARS.

  • nice one gator..would u happen to have don singing sea of a heartbreak??

  • @jaimev21 Sorry I don't have that one.
