There seems to be an aboslutely huge difference between my fierce ride's weight and this one. You could never crash mine and make it wobble like that, still love it tho =D
mines the opposite, its about the same weight but must be alot thinner cos it wobbles like hell even during light ride work! there's just so much difference between individual fierce rides it seems. there was one at my local drum centre that was stiff as a board and its hammer marks were barely visible compared to the ones on mine. weird
I dunno dude....I play some gigs where I break sticks, heads but never cymbals as thin as the Fierce ride....Now thicker cymbals like the Zildjian Z customs or Z3's I can crack through them but the Thin cymbals takes me years to go through or longer if I have more Jazz gigs.
It took me 2 years to crack my 18" AA Metal-X Crash, but only 4 months to crack my 19" Vault Crash. And that Vault is super thin. I probably have poor cymbal hitting form though.
I'd say I approach it at more of an angle. Which is terrible for cymbal health. Well now that I actually thought about it I'm going to start treating my cymbals better.
On an unrelated note, Bill Nye is banned from entering the N.A.S.A. grounds.
@blakethedrummer You can really wail on cymbals if you do it right. And if you do it right, you won't need to hit nearly as hard.
For example, Bobby Rock generates huge sound, hits pretty hard, and uses what is effectively a marching snare drum stick, but he uses almost all thin and medium thin crashes and rarely breaks them.

ew... is all i can say about this cymbal. I'm sure it's a good 400bucks but it sounds worse than my first ride cymbal that was 50 bucks.

it's a ride cymbal, can we hear some "riding" on it. 6 or 7 hits doesn't give it any time to build up the wash.

UGHH FINALLY!!!!!! I've been searching and searching for a ride that has a nice, bright crash sound to it. I might look into getting one of these
XxStrongDrums1996xX 1 year ago
@XxStrongDrums1996xX this ride is anything but bright.
zerussomaniac 1 year ago
@zerussomaniac Well yea. Lighter might have been the better term. The crash on it is nice and light, not so heavy like alot of crashes.
XxStrongDrums1996xX 1 year ago
hmm, i dont know why, but this cymbal reminds me of eating dry and burnt bread...XD
tttmmmnnnttt 1 year ago
No, its called stage presence.
blakethedrummer 1 year ago
@blakethedrummer hitting cymbals too hard and stage presence have nothing to do with each other, that's what mics are for. nice try though.

it would be awesome if you guys would run a ride pattern long enough to hear the cymbal settle into the pattern! thanks for posting...

maybe because im a hard hitter?
blakethedrummer 2 years ago
Actually Blakethedrummer the thinner the cymbal the harder it is to crack....because its more free to vibrate
Moog167 2 years ago 4
That only goes so far if you hit extremely hard. There's a point where it doesn't matter how free it is to vibrate.

Where do you hit it? I hit a combo of the top and the edge of the cymbal.....
I had the opposite experience but temperature does have a factor in this.....lol cymbal science....where in the hell is Bill Nye!!?!?!

I do too but since I sit high behind my kit I come down and hit the top and the edge lol
