  • The lines of it remind me of a ZT knife. Prob on purpose lol

  • Are you going to do a review on the Rat-1? I'd like to see that :D

  • @SavageArms357 Most likely. Just need to find the time.

  • Great review bro! And here I thought that none of Kershaw's blades moved me anymore....boy was I wrong....and at $25!! SWEET!

  • @74Hobbes I think it's a fun little knife. Like the looks of it too.

  • My wife kept wondering what that clicking sound was and it is me opening my "Clash".

Now I know I'm not the only addict.

    Great review, love the channel.

    Peace and blessings....

  • @Grezzoitalian My finger was soar the first week I had it because I opened and closed it so much. It's a fun little knife.

  • good review... i think you just sold me on the knife i will buy for my groomsmen... where should i look online for the best price???

  • Great review

  • Great review. I picked one of these up for my mom recently and she loves it. The assisted opening is great for her since she has arthritis. The weight is also much better than the CRKT Crawford/Kasper she used to carry. Probably end up getting one for myself too.

  • @Txdartaholic That's cool your mom digs it.

  • Dang you. Bought one.

  • @acm1288 LOL! It's a fun knife to have around. A bit bulky, but that doesn't bother me.

  • For the price. It's worth every penny. I consider it a poor man's ZT

  • haha whoops, commented before I heard the price:) It's the same knife then, I really like that. I carry a Kershaw Scallion.

    Kershaw makes some mad blades.

  • Hey, I think I saw that knife with a tanto blade... was it around $24?

  • I find it a bit strange that I can't seem to get this blade as sharp as my tenacious. I use the same diamond steel, same technique and it never seems to match it. Wonder why...

  • for an edc knife, what would you recommend to me: The Tenacious or the Clash?

Good review, just subscribed to your channel

  • @horseman863 Thanks for the sub. Depends on you. Do you like the flipper/deployment hole better? Does width bother you (if so go with tenacious)? Both are same steel (and appear to be both quality level as heat treatment has much to do with how the steal turns out). Tenacious better thumb ramp with jimping. Also the clip is positional all four places where Clash is only right tip up or down. Clash is a cool assisted flipper. I know I didn't answer, but hope that's something to think about.

  • @Cr0cket20

i don´t like fat knives, so I will go with the tenacious.

Thank you for your quick response

  • good price!thanks for the video.

  • Your reference seems to always be your Spyderco tenacious Crocket. I have been feeling quite tempted to add a Spyderco to my collection. But being on a budget I just can't decide. I have a rule where I save my large defensive knives just for an emergency I.e. spyderco resilience (which I really want). But yet if I got an edc knife like the tenacious and put alot of daily use to it I would probably have a lot more respect for the tool. Decisions , decisions

    -Solanum20

  • Good review Crocket. Thanks it looks like a good blade especially for the price

    Nate

  • Been looking for a new EDC knife by looking at some review videos by nutnfancy. None of them really fell along the lines of what I prefer in an EDC. When I saw your review, I knew this knife is what I was looking for. Ordered one today. Thanks for the recommendation Crocket!

  • That black blade and clip really look great. I have the bead blasted model; it's a great cheap knife.

  • blade shape very similar to Blur. Great size to do "work" which just is not truly reasonable with the smaller knives that seem to be in favor by many users. Great demo and monologue.

  • @usframe For me and an EDC knife, this is about the smallest I like to go. In fact, I prefer just a bit longer knife. Although this size I can be happy with.

  • Gotta give some love to Kershaw!! Great review!! I carried Kershaw blades for years have switched to SOG but still keep a LEEK attached to my bag.

  • I think this is a good "second-step" EDC or camping knife for a 12 year old, or 13 year old. It's nice and chunky in the hand, it's hard to lose, but it retains its cool factor for the boys. Not that it isn't good enough for the men! What I mean is, this is an adult size blade that could be transitioned for a young man or lady, and they would be proud to have it and care for it. And the price point is certainly appealing across the board. The black on black option is attractive. Thx!

  • LMAO AT YOU TRYING TO CUT A Z INTO THE CARD BOARD. OLAY!

  • @TheMuslimKiller Not intended to be a Z. Lots of concepts going on there that offer different targets depending on where one is on the target. Little more going on there than what you think.

  • @TheMuslimKiller you dont know what knife fighting is do you

  • @VAbackpacker No, I am well aware a knife fighting and combat methodologies. Just to make you look stupid I'm going to continue, A: The motions being made in this video are nowhere near proper knife fighting techniques. B: Conservation of motion and energy is a prime directive, he is wasting massive amounts of energy making stupid slashes. C: He is not aiming for any corroded arteries nor is he aiming for any tendon separating targets. In a knife fight he would get flayed.

  • @TheMuslimKiller How would you know if I was aiming or not aiming at certain targets. It's cardboard taped to a wall. Your ability to interpret what is actually happening is limited by your close mindedness and self inflated ego. Your name you've choose speaks volumes about your intolerance, prejudice, and hatred.

  • @TheMuslimKiller HAHAHA i get it!! You say your making vabackpacker look stupid when really your making yourself look stupid! ps. pieces of cardboard do not have arteries "nor" tendons.. haha your funny! i might even subscribe to you lol

  • @TheMuslimKiller ............i have no words for your ignorance....have a nice day!

  • Weak attempt at "jimping" but looks like a great value

  • Thanks Crocket! At $25-, this will make a good bunkmate for my kershaw skyline!

  • I didn't even know about this model yet. Thanks for the great review buddy!

  • I like the blade shape. Just enough belly. But it's a bit too large for me as an EDC blade. Make that same blade shape about 3/4 the size and I'd be all over one.

  • Great review. Yeah, kerhaw know what they're doing!

What would be REALLY cool, would be a review of the knife designed by the top guy in he martial art you train in -I forget what it is as it woulda been a couple of years ago now that it was mentioned on a youtube vid!

Also if you like the SOG pocket clips, FYI you'll like the Spydies with wire clips...

  • You're a sucker for black on black?! And you like the curves?! :O

    That's what she said! ;)

Sorry, sorry -I'll get my coat... LOL

  • Guns, knives, cars, woemen. Everybody has their own thouht, feelings, tastes. If not, what fun would the world be?

Great review Crocket! I'll have to keep my eye out for one of these to check out. TNX!

  • Funny: my tenacious has way better traction than yours?

  • I bought this at a Florida Gunshow last summer. The regular non-black version. The blade shape is perfect for food prepping and such. I find it a bit bulky for EDC. Like the Skyline better in that role.

  • @badjujur6 companies design the clips to allow different placement, whether its leftside carry or rightside. Tip up can be essential if there is no locking mechanism on the knife, to prevent it from opening in pocket. Tip up carry usually ensures that the spine of the knife sits against the seam of your pant pocket, this way the knife can't deploy fully.

  • dude, I have become a kershaw fan lately! price is great and they still hold the quality levels high enough that they are worth having. Nice review! I think my mind appreciates price points and makes adjustments for all minor ergo and weight flaws. Sweet!

  • have this knife and love it. isnt too bulky for me at all. wicked sharp, wicked fast. its in my edc rotation and carries fine.

  • Great knife and VERY impressive tech on the knife combat. Excellant review!

  • I used to like assisted opening knives, but 1. My state considers them "automatic" or switch blade. And 2. When I did carry one, I had it open accidentally in my pocket just one time..... But that one time it lanced my thigh open! Yea, had to get 5 stitches! Wasn't a long cut just deep! So no more Assisted opening for me!

  • thanks for the video, showed me that it's to thick for my preference. (like the volt II, which i loved until i had it in hand.)

  • Great review...nice job!

  • oh, and you mentioned curves - I'm surprised more knife models are not curved like the Clash and Blur, to better fit how our hands work.

  • hmmm, might just have to try a flipper design. Thought about a Leek, but by the time I got around to it, the price doubled to $50, and I passed. Great review!

  • Thank for the review. Yet another Kershaw I now want. I was going to get a blur next but now I may have to think. Love their speed safe assisted opening. So fun to play with, flip close, flip close. Ahhhhh relaxing :)

  • @TempMpyre Blur is an awesome blade...

  • great review! them kershaw blades are sweet i got the scamp and it is amazing for the money..keep up the good work

  • I like the design, flowing lines and sweet recurve blade. Crazy value too. I would moan about Kershaw not providing a left hand clip option (yet again) but as we can't get assisted openers here it's a moot point for me. Good review Crocket.

  • Like the review, dislike the knife... It is a thick knife, and definitely bulky. I carried a SOG trident for years, and loved it compared to this. Good price for a assisted knife though

  • @Steeleprophet For people that don't like the bulk I can definitely see why one would have issue with this knife. The bulk doesn't bother me so much. Appreciate the differing viewpoint.

  • Nice knife! Great video!

  • @MrLoiti100 Thanks.

  • 25 bucks?! Awesome.

  • Nice!! I want one... great review too.

    Thanks...

And for $25 I can't go wrong with that price!

  • You cant beat a Kershaw knife for value and sharpness out the box.

  • I lack in the knife department so I'm always looking for a good and cheap knife. Outstanding review, simple and to the point, rite on.....

  • Seems like all considered a very awesome knife! I have a definite style of look for knives that I like and this is one of those that I just like looking at... thanks for the video!

  • what kind of martial arts do you practice?

just thought you looked like you have been practicing a lot lol

  • nice job Crocket! Will check it out

  • That's going to be Trout's knife some day, I bet.

  • that knife needs "gimping"......

  • For the money you can't beat Kershaw

  • Thanks for the review

but after a bad experience with a Kershaw rep,

I was "talked out" of spending my money on their products due to his responses to my criticisms of the blade on the 7000auto making contact with a pillar and chipping.

I had enjoyed my kershaw blades prior to that convo, but call me petty, I haven't bought or carried one since (always found comparable alternatives, sometimes even better)

though your reviews tempt me back, a bad history loses out and the HK (Benchmade) Vex wins

  • @HvinnyTheViking Hey, I just wanted to say, I know how you feel. Ive had bad experiences with customer services at various places (or even had a bad waitress at a favorite restaurant for instance) and it made me feel resentment towards the product or place and has caused me to boycott for a while. I thought about what I was doing and basically I realized I was prejudiced and committing bigotry. You shouldnt base your sole opinion on your experience w/ one person and apply that..

  • @girtisholland you'd be surprised how many restaurants are are in the same boat with Kershaw for me, heh, but alas just like the competition for knives, there are so many competing restaurants that I get my grub elsewhere and oftentimes it tasted just as good, even better sometimes

  • @HvinnyTheViking ...against a whole group or entity. Basically it is a general form racism, but with a product or service. So many people judge ethnic groups based upon the actions of a few and it is unfair, unjust and prejudiced, The same applies with customer service reps. Sorry for the long reply, but basically dont let one person make your opinion of something. Judge Kershaw as a whole and not based upon one asshole rep.

  • "Racism" are you insane?

  • i have a kershaw compound and I quite like it myself it's also assisted opening

  • Crocket, thanks for the great review man. I haven't handled one myself but after your review I might just buy one. I like the black on black look, and I know Kershaw can put together a nice EDC blade. Thanks again.

  • I don't know if you mentioned it or forgot but that balde unlike some other cheapish Kershaws is made in Chine, correct?

  • not bad for 25 bucks

  • Great review of this knife. I have been carrying the satin blade Clash for about 5 months now and I'm very happy with it. It's a big knife but fits in my pocket with no problem, I don't really know it's there. This looks like some of the Zero Tolerance knives that go for a LOT more in cost. If I had bought one of those I would never carry it for fear of scuffing it up.

  • got one off of amazon for $22 @(^_^)@

  • Great great review Crocket! I toted around the Kershaw scallion for a couple of years until I wore it out & it has an almost identical flipper design.

For what it's worth I'm diggin' the wood shaving in the background : ) Great stuff!

  • That was easily the best review I've seen on this knife. I may have to take another look at it. I'm one of those who skipped it due to handle width, but I can see now, thanks to your detailed review, what an excellent knife it is for the price.

  • @TheLateBoyScout It is a fatty and I can definitely see how that would turn some off. While I like the thinner knives, something of the Clash size does not bother me at all. For the price it's just a fun little knife.

  • Great review - plan on taking a look at it. Keep the vids coming.

  • Love this knife. Murdered out, assisted open and Sharp as heck. Got me one not too long ago

  • An excellent review. I'm a Gerber person. I could change after watching this video. I don't know that much about blades, but you sold this One to me. I'm glad that you gave the price range on here too. Take care my friend. I know this is personal, but how the twins and the others in the family. Just curious. Take care and God bless you my friend.

  • knives aren't any good if they cost less than $200. you are misinforming the public with you superb reviews. Keep 'em coming you crazy busy body.

  • Love the Kershaw blades thanks for the review

  • Comment removed

  • @jambiyaSlaughter LOL! A folder is not a folder unless it's $200 ; )

  • I must say man, loving the background. Great vids.

  • I've been happy with all my Kershaw knives. I have 3 Blurs, a couple of Scallions and a Leek. Love the Tanto style blade for EDC and utility work. Use it for all sorts of tasks all day.

  • @CyberDruidtheModGod Nice collection. I have a blur riding in my pocket now. They really do have some nice blades.

  • @Cr0cket20 Knives are easier to collect than guns if you aren't rich lol. Even so you can't count on getting what you pay for so a value knife of quality is even more rare, Nowadays you can't just see a mark like Gerber and know that every one of their knives will be decent. I've been disappointed by Ontario too, Not all their knives are well made. But I have not handled or seen a sub standard Kershaw, My collection ranges from the $500-ish to the $50-ish range. I love Al-Mar and Randall knives

  • @CyberDruidtheModGod Hey! Cool to see you hanging out here. I've shifted my PC addiction to knives and other dangerous things also.

  • Great review! I'm gonna have to pic one up!

  • Kershaw black finish is indeed very good, at the level of Spyderco and Benchmade. Not anything like the Rat 1's or the Cold Steel finish on their AUS8A blades.

  • MAN!! you are quick with the blade ;p

  • 8cr is a decent steel, have to remember the price. I love the 8cr on my cara cara 2, high value, thanks for the review!

  • Great little blade... excellent price! Thanks for the review and heads up man.

  • First kershaw ive seen in your hands

  • @Lethal0ption Not going to be the last ; ) I've got another that I'm testing now.

  • Kershaw knives are some of the highest value knives on the market period. And they're made in the USA too. Huge bonus. I love my kershaw blackout ken onion designed edc pocket knife. It's an assisted opening blade like this one in your video. Kershaw blades come razor sharp out of the box and will take a sick edge upon resharpening in my experience. For $25 I may have to pick this one up for my collection. Nice review.

  • @ds10363 I am quickly becoming a big Kershaw fan.

  • personally i love 8cr it is my favorite edc steel, don't get me wrong i like the high end steels too, but after i carry a knife i usually touch it up at the end of the day, and 8cr really just serves well in edc role

  • @bobmellon I'm with you. I like to touch up my blades often. Easier to keep sharp and always have a sharp blade.

  • Great video as always! I like the black on black but, not too crazy about the pocket clip. Great folder for EDC for sure. A blade with marks and some fading on it is allot like a belt in Martial Arts, old, faded and worn speaks volumes about the experience and memories. Thank you for taking the time to share. Stay safe! -Tim

  • @TheTacticalDefender I honestly did have to get used to it. It's a fat pocket clip not a phat pocket clip : )

  • no jimping but I like it. I carry to Oso sweet and love it. Thanks for the video

  • @cowboyway357 I have yet to play with the Oso sweet. But I nothing but good things about it. Hope you're doing well.

  • i really dont mind the 8cr either.. i would say its a little better than the RAT model 1 aus8.. just my experience. thanks for the review
