Wow, all the memories of Crystal washed away. Going to the beach on graduation night, popping fireworks on the 4th, riding the ferry to Galveston, Partying at "the zoo". Locals know where that is... It'll never be the same in my lifetime.

I'm deeply saddened by our loss of the "zoo" we always partied by the Bud Light sign..I have'nt seen it yet but I'm shure the old Dirty Pelican and Mecoms peir is gone as well..I live in Winnie and we had Redfish floating in the Spindletop (fresh water side)of the SaltWater Barrier!!!! I rode the storm out at the Flyin' J ranch and at 3:00am the generators died (Drowned) 8mi inland and 19ft above sealevel!!!!

Either people on the coast should pay enormous insurance fees or they should build to the conditions of the environment. What about the Ferry boats, what did they do with them? Me and my x used to go down there every weekend and ride the ferry and get a coke and pork rindsat a little store then get back in line again! Those were the days! Glad it did not get the light house, man that thing was a classic!

I think I caught a report indicating that the ferry boats are in good shape however the docking and launching structures are out of commission. Lynchburg Ferry is down too.

That is terrible, that is such History and a very great place down there, I am saddened! Lynchberg was on the ship channel, right? They were like real small ferry's compared to the Bolivar Ferry's! I have been gone from there since 89, but lived there long enough to remember some stuff! My heart goes out to some great people, I know they are strong and will survive!
