all that energy you spent doing nothing should have spent deflating your tires down to 20lbs in the rear, or at least that they float on the dirt, move the dirt from around the tires, straighten the front, and rock back and forth a few times until you can drive out, I grew up where you are stuck, in Baker, and I was paid to do off road recovery, but you could have died out there I seen it happen way to many times.

Your headline states that you made a bad choice, and your video shows lots of time waited in a case that could have been fatal..but I am glad it was an adventure for you, not so in many other cases. You look at things a lot different when you pull bodies from the desert...

** i grew up on a farm as well i've been getting cars stuck since i've been old enough to drive at what 6 ... i've done more than my fair share of getting things out... that is the only reason i could do this on my own...

deflating the tires would make the vehicle ride on top of the dirt instead of digging in it, and when the front tires are straight there is nothing holding it..but these are things you learn after being in the desert for 40 years..that heat, and being in a situation can make you think irrational thoughts though, and even panic can alter your actions when placed in a predicament such as yours.. otherwise possibly you could have driven out early in your "burial"

No plants = earth that was removed and trenched. Then back filled. You were more than likley on an underground pipeline of which was no longer undisturbed soil. Anyway the video was cool and interesting to see.
