People! Stop comparing Hmong Band like that. all hmong bands are good. If any of you guys can just give them a good advice how to improve their songs, That would be good for all the hmong.
@Brucelue7 But, they wont... You see, you gotta understand that majority of them cater to the old people. Old people don't want to change and they don't want to change what they hear. You can change the instruments they use, sure... but the style will always be the same. Check this out, at my new year, I saw and heard a video of LL for the 1st time. I wanted to hear the "METAL" MV, but the guy would turn to it. He didn't want to put on anything different than what was already playing around us.
Actaully I think their Lyrics are alright. I understand what you mean, but... you can put all the good lyrics you want on a song... if the music isn't good, it wont bring in that many fans. Trust me, American Music should be an example of that. As long as the lyrics are good enough and the music is Rockin... it's cool and you'll draw in a HUGE amount of fans.
It may not sound right, but it's the truth. You also gotta understand that many Hmong young people are getting tired of the old style.
Hey, why doesn't anyone put on the 2 Hard Rock Song's, "Tsis Txog Siab Qhuas" and "Poj Laib Yawg Laib". There's 2 more but they didn't make a MV for them. Im talking about the 2 on the CD album. Actaully, the 2 on teh CD Album are way Harder than the one's on the DVD.
No that's false... Their music video was done PROFESIONALLY by Thailand, but their music. Their music is all them. Who ever told you that probably didn't like Rock or prefered Sounders over them. Personally, I like LL more. They're more my style. Harder, Louder, FASTER, and they catch my attention more.
Good Product selling too. There are a total of 4 Hard Rock Song, but it's split between the DVD and the Album. The 2 from the DVD are not on the CD and the 2 on the CD are not on the DVD.
i strongly support hmong bands and artist, but come on these guys music are played by thai professional musiciens and dont deserve the credit. i can understan a solo artist, but its a band, why can't they just be themself and create things on their own. every one can be a fucking rockstar behind their video, truth is, can they give the real deal when it comes to live. i seriously doubt it.
laib laus is Hmong rock band in Thailand, but sounder is hmong america rock band. they both still good. but i love laib laus band cuase they had those sadness songs and they can't play better.
you guys don't what you are talking about. sounders is way more modern than these little laib. they sound like a 50s rock band. too simple and plain and not enough anger in their voice.
Sorry man...sounders had their time and they were okay. Not its time for real music. I don't think you really know what you're talking about...stick with spinning the tuj lub man...music is not your genre.
I agree... Sonders was from my uncles years... like the late 80's and the early 90's. Styles too old. As of now anyone can comeout and have the same style as Sounders.. and to me it's boreing.. To hear LL for the 1st time, I was like WOW..! A REAL ROCK BAND... I MEAN REAL HARD ROCK N ROLL..! Not that same old Asian SHIT I've been hear for the last 25 years..
50's man... 50's? Have you heard rock music from the 50's? Dude your Comment is "BS"..!
Y do people always have to compare laib laus and sounders? Both R good bands, each with their own unique style. Can't we just be supportive of both? There's plenty of space for both bands in this tiny hmong music industry.
Well, it's very hard to say about Laib Laus band and Tong Vang but all I have to say: Please created your own music and used your own skills. Every laib laus recording and play by "Dayone Studio Musician in Chiangmai" the owner of SomSuck.
The guitarist is good, if he is able to create and play that stuff. As a guitar player myself, I respect guitarists who are creative and original. As a band, LL still has a lot to achieve before a comparison with the Sounders can be initiated. Every Sounders player is creative and original.
my uncle works with them in thailand. i think they are working through... grammy. i think. my uncle was telling me about it. but yah. hope this band does well. THANKS.
Is this original music? It sounds Thai. Oh well, this song is on my 25 top playlist! I love Laib Laus! I want the full version of their videos, can someone upload it?
It's nice that they can sing. not like some hmong band. Anyways, did they produce their own music or copy from other people and sing it? If not, I am so proud. ^_^
thats true to some sense... but i dont think LL is as hot as sounders during their era... besides even though sounders is older now but they stil the shit... i bet more people would pay to see a sounders concert than a LL one... trust me
decent song but i think the drummer needs to take full potential of his drum set... from the brief clip of this song it seems he barely touches his toms. i think the song would sound more rich if he takes advantage of his kit. especially during the guitar solo, thats a good opportunity to reveal real talent. any common drummer can hold the simple beats during the verses and the basic chorus parts. ;)
sound is very nice. the only concern is that i don't think these songs are played by hmong musicians. most likely by thai people, the singer is hmong, but the rest might be thai people in hmong clothes. you get the point. i could be wrong, but something sounds/looks fishy...
Thats just your opinion, its not whats true. I like Laib Laus. A lot of people like Sounders because its more appealing to the Hmong Americans/Canadians. Laib Laus is like both. A good hmong band you should check out is SuddenRush. They live in Canada like me, but in British Columbia. Their one hit wonder song is called "Mi Noog."
well... sounders and laib laus are in the thai rock genre. we'll have to see if sounders can top this with their new album. but after listening to these clips, these thai boys might be putting the american boys out of biz...
