@LetsGoMetsGo33 Um, if you watch some of the other videos you would see that I use an SG for the standard tuning songs, and the downtuned Les Paul copy for the C# tuned songs. I already owned the Les Paul, and I could not afford to buy 2 SG's to cover the tuning problem. You... do know that Sabbath used two different tunings, right???
@Raddion ok that's a good explanation. i got one guitar, a red epiphone sg, plays great, got it 4 like $250 on ebay. but i'm a crap undisciplined punk rock player. for sabbath, i mostly just fool around with the awesome power chord parts, but i just play by ear from memory, and probably pick a random key to play in. anyway your response made me confused about a video i watched recently. check out "tony iommi lesson" by the snowblindwizard. at 2:24 tony says he mostly uses only 1 guitar 4 a show.
@LetsGoMetsGo33 Tony Iommi tuned to standard tuning on Black Sabbath, Paranoid, Technical Ecstacy and Never Say Die. He Tuned his guitar to C# for Master Of Reality, Vol 4, SBS and Sabotage. However, when played live, since the mid-'70's he for some reason prefers to play all the songs in the downtuned key of C#. In my opinion this makes songs like Iron Man and War Pigs sound dirge-like and lifeless, I wanted everything to sound the same as it did on the records so I used the two guitars.
@Raddion Ok, that's interesting. And it makes sense, things did get even heavier with Master of Reality and then somewhat less heavy again with Tech Ec. Sorry about the band breaking up, hope the members find new opportunities to kee the doom alive.
How old are you guys? Fuck. You should be playing really good at that age. I bought a guitar, was completely noob at playing and played that song realy good about 2yr later. It's very simple. But your guitarist barely can play clean and rythmical...
Guitarist looks like a builder and sounds like he's playing through a drainpipe on helium. Bassist looks and moves like Rudolph Schenker until you get close and then he looks and plays like that donkey out of Shrek. Drummer looks, plays and sounds like a tea boy serving the audience who accidentally fell into the drum kit and is trying to climb out and the 'singer' looks and sounds like Jimmy Saville - after he's died. Dreadful. Absolutely awful.
come on guy were is the new concert footage??? stop getting high before the shows and set-up a video recorder, i know thats a hard think to ask, but it benefits the rest of us lol \M/
This guitarists tone is like a perfect clone of my current tone(not the ones in my videos), and he has similar vibrato. Love the vocals, and how he does the old lyrics version.
This is scaring me....who the fuck is this...please ban them from ever playing again....oh yes...the tone...it's magnifico....turn those Peavys up and let the distort yell.I think I worked with "Ozzy" in a La-Z-Boy chair factory in Redlands CA in the 80's...???????$5.83 an hour familiar?oh well...at least it's an attempt at Sabbath.Rock On!!!
can't understand how people can bitch about the guitar tone being not totally, precisely exact and accurate - i mean, come on, let them do it the way they want to.
@ffdff people bitch about it because the guitar tone sucks.
this guy is using a distortion pedal. it's all in front of the amp, and the distortion is thin and way too saturated.
tony used the natural overdrive of the amplifier at high volume, for a warmer, fuller, more natural tube driven sound.
plus this singer makes me want to puke.
only good thing about this band is they show how hard it is and show how easy sabbath make it look. they just make you want to hear sabbath. fucking italians
@loknloll tony Iommi is son of Italian immigrants, moron! And how many times have you played or sing this song or any other? I don't see any original uploads in your channel.
@joeheadblues you don't see uploads on my channel because i don't have any need to play guitar for people. which must automatically mean i'm shit, right? i can play this song... but that's not the point. iommi was raised english. when i say ''fucking italians'', i have my reasons - i'm a canadian who lived there for 13 years. try a term like that in any country and you can say whatever you want. this band sucks ass
@loknloll Fucking Canadian that can't even write the word English properly! Yes, maybe they suck, but unless you prove that you can play it better, you are the sucker!
@loknloll Languages as well as nationalities always begin with capital letters in English. Everybody knows that, but, oh yes, I forgot, your time in Italy made you stupid.
@joeheadblues relax, mom. ''everybody knows languages as well as nationalities begin with capital letters....''. now you're just looking for ways to be an asshole. i wish people like you would actually step up in real life instead hiding in youtube forums, so i could put my fist in your face.
this band sucks. they are shit. get over it. if you cannot hear that, you are a retarded tone deaf loser who doesn't enjoy music anyway. if, for you, this has anything to do with the original, give up.
@joeheadblues oh, by the way. canada, english, french, italy, china, mexico, barbara, robert, guatamala.... all spelled without capital letters. what are you gonna do about it? FUCKING SPERM BREATH LOSER.
@joeheadblues and furthermore, in your second response to me 1 day ago (you, the super uptight fucker about spelling and capital letters), you said ''how many times have you played or sing this song...''. it's SANG this song, fucking brain dead, penisless fuck wad. cancel your youtube account and take your anger and go beat up some helpless children somewhere. i currently live in amsterdam, and i will gladly buy you a ticket here so i can beat the fuck out of you, and your retarded face.
@joeheadblues for the final time. this band sucks. if you know anything about the magnificent beauty of a little birmingham band called BLACK SABBATH, you will realize this isn't a cover or a ''version''. this is an insult to everything ozzy, geezer, tony and bill stand for. this is a shit band that should be urged to never play again. this singer could only cover lemmy's grandmother.
if you are too fucked to get it, the problem is yours. go to a doctor and get your brain removed. fuck off.
@loknloll Dude, how do you expect anyone to take you seriously when you talk like that? Black Sabbath's my favorite band, I doubt the actual members of the band would see this as an insult. They're just paying tribute to the masters.
@thejesman i don't expect people to take me seriously, and more importantly, i don't care. i take myself seriously, and that's all that should really matter. if black sabbath is your favourite band (i applaud you because they are one of mine), you would know enough about tony iommi to know he would be insulted by this.
this guy singing, he's this italian guy, pino, or something like that. he's one of the most annoying people in italy. and the guitarist should be put in jail for that tone.
@loknloll Is there any particular reason you think he'd be insulted? Has he said so in an interview or something? To me, this just seems like a bunch of guys having fun. Nothing to get upset about.
the guy is a good impersonator the voice is almost there i would say that its more the band that is a little off but it is a good tribute band some tribute band are half that good.
he looks like ozzy and sings like him what can you ask more if you go to a bar and you pay 8$
Good Ozzy likeness - like the doubled/chorused vocal. Needs to loose the shirt, jump around & start flinging water over the punters... ;-) Guitarist needs to ditch the Les Paul & buy an old SG: more tone & less fuzz. Good effort tho.
Hey guitar dude... you need a Laney GH100TI and an SG. The sound is too new and a bit too top end. Iommi's sound was more bottom end. Sounds good though..
His voice is not bad. But he needs way more charisma. W/out that, they will not be taken seriously. Ozzy was full of energy in Sabbath's hey-day. This guy is fronting a Black Sabbath tribute. People don't want to watch him drinking water and tapping his foot.
singer = awesome!!!, bass = decent, but too low, guitar = very thin and tinny, but the solo was very good and his chops are great, drummer = snare drum sounds like a paper bag but this could all be because of the overall sound quality, but the singer certainly has it down perfect!!! If I was at a bar, I would be loving this. Keep it up!!!
Again, fellas, please keep in mind that these two videos KYTL and Into The Void were from our SECOND time out as a band. Almost three years have passed and the band has matured a lot. We will try to get some new concert footage up soon.
How can you people rip on this, well at least the singer? He kicks ass. If you're going to rip on any aspect of this, pick the drummer. he's the weakest link of this tribute.
So you guys dress up like them...but make no effort to get a similar guitar sound? The intro riff sounds way too distorted and sounds like your using more notes than needed alot of the groove of the riff is lost.
because in the late 60's - early 70's Iommi poked holes in his speakers to get the distortion he got. 50 watt Plexi heads produce a good Sab-like tone when run through a distortion pedal. Iommi also used Acoustic amps in the beginning.
Well, of course, Iommi currently uses Laney amps (and Marshalls and other such modern gear), but, yes, in the early days of Sabbath he used Acoustic amps (and there are archival photographs of these amps; just dig for them), and he poked holes in his speakers for distortion (his admission in several articles).
Laney heads, Vox AC30s, Marshall 9005 power + Marshall 9001 pre in the 80s, JCM800, tried the 5150 series, didn't like it...
No where has Geoff Lucas, Keith Jefferson, Rodger Bain, Spock Wall, David Tangye, Graham Wright, Mike Clement, the Man himself, or anyone else mention acoustic amplifiers or the
destroying or modification of speaker cones. Unless you can show me otherwise, of course.
Sorry, friend, but I do not have every interview (print or otherwise)I have ever read or viewed regarding Tony Iommi. You name-drop, it means nothing. I've been playing guitar for 30 years. I've read hundreds of interviews with a great many guitarists. I did not make this up in my mind. You either believe or you do not -- makes no difference to me. I know what I know, despite the many names you cited.
It's not that I don't want to believe you, but I need something conclusive and quite frankly I've read a ton regarding Sabbath because I think Sabbath is the best band ever to exist; They just appeal to me. Not trying to fight, but I'm just defensive about the stuff: I need proof.
I do agree with your thing though: Get a 50W head and boost it and that is basically the formula for great distorted and OD sounds. Also BS' sound.
I wasn't trying to be curt with you, friend. Perhaps Iommi did this before the advent of Sabbath. I was taken aback by it as well. He did lay tracks for Jethro Tull, but I don't see him fiddling around with his gear then either. But I did read this in an Iommi interview, though I do not recall the source. He also used Orange amps!
Every guitarist learns differently, therefore that is how every guitarist gets their own style, understanding this, Im not gonna talk shit about how it isint the vintage Iommi tone or sound. But this is an Amazing cover, especially the near perfect vocal work. Long Live Sabbath.
Thank you for saying my guitar playing sucks, that drives me to try even harder and practice more. We base our version of this song not on the "stoned original" but on the live version off of the Asbury Park recording. You... do have the Asbury Park 1975 recording, don't you?
This singer's doing a pretty good job here. And the chorusing/doubling effect is spot on. The band is faithfully representing that Sabbath sound. Way to go, guys!
Re-post this clip and boost your gain on your file, fellas. Rock On!
Why? that's himself who's talking to me, I don't care if you can play Eruption but you can't play Killing yourself to live. It's too cut, play it more continious

I think Ozzy's trying to fool us by moonlighting as an Ozzy impersonator

Rock on! You sound like Ozzy. This song sounds like Sabbath. I give you credit. "Little Boy Blue is a big girl now!"

I have an SG also. I use it for the songs from the first two albums. The Les Paul tolerates being tuned down better.

Whoa!..Ozzy's twin brother. Which one is the evil twin?...Let's settle it with a bat-eating contest.

This singer's doing a pretty good job here. And the chorusing/doubling effect is spot on. The band is faithfully representing that Sabbath sound. Way to go, guys!
Re-post this clip and boost your gain on your file, fellas. Rock On!

What's wrong with the sound?
The singer looks like a cross between Ozzy & David Lee Roth.
