I am proud to say that i have been priviledged enough to have experienced the 'unfolding' of the hip hop culture. I lived right across from the East River in Washington Heights, which is considered to be the birthplace of grafitti. My earliest recollection of b-boyism was when i was 7 yrs old (1977). My older sister had a boyfriend who was a DJ, and he threw a party in his house. His boys from his block were doing some sort of acrobatic dancing on the floor (breakdancing).
They were called the Rock City Rockers, and they were really good. Some years later, the Rock Steady Crew would actually travel to my block (173rd St. btwn. St. Nick & Wadsworth Ave.) to battle RCR. Of course, Rock Steady won, but it was a very close battle. These are some of my best memories ever!!
How can I find this?I looked everywhere and nothing. It's not BDP - South Bronx, so what is it? Of course KRS, but which track? Help please.
