Listen, don't tell your child that's a man in a woman's dress because kids tend to absorb everything around, postive or negative. If your child finds out it's cool for a man to dress like a woman then sooner or later she will begin to think it's okay for a woman to dress like a man. What Tyler Perry has done should be greatly appreicated because for one he is giving unknown African-Americans who couldn't make it in Hollywood because of their color a chance. Second, his films do have message. You just have to look for the education and not always for the entertainment. Third, Tyler uses Madea and other funny characters to bring the audience so they can receive his real message which is about having God in your life.

With that, majority of the box-office gross is profit. For example; Madea goes to jail cost $17 million to make and grossed over $90million. He owns his own studio, has his plays, TV shows and movies. What Spike Lee got? A few Academy Awards nominations, nothing more. Only thing Hollywood cares about is the bottom line and Tyler brings home the bacon. Never see Tyler Perry begging for money from Bill Cosby to make a movie. Tyler Perry's movies make 3 x as much as Lee, and that a fact.....

Who has Tyler Perry dicovered & taught & molded into super stars? Here is a list of people Spike tutored:Denzel,Halle Berry,Chris Rock,Samuel Jackson, Jeffrey Wright. @TheSonsOfLight Denzel was already a star when he made movies for him (Glory, which won him an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor back in 1989) so he was doing Lee a favor. Danny Aiella had about 15-20 movies under his belt when Lee got him. Wesley Snipes became a star with New Jack City, Martin Lawrence had a bit role for Lee. John Ligazamo was already established actor too. Just face it, your boy Spike is jealous of Tyler. Spike Lee day has passed him, he is no longer a factor in movies

@qmcsing NAh hommie you are wrong. Those actors werent stars yet. They did some movies yeah, but Spike made them house hold names. New Jack City was a classic but Mo' Better Blues is what pushed him out there. & Then Jungle Fever. Same for Denzel. Who was also in Moe Better Blues.Same year as Glory. John Lig wasnt no established actor. Are you serious? I'm talking star power, not a few scenes in a movie. Spike made these people house hold names.

Like I said Denzel was doing Lee a favor by acting in his movies. Lee is limited, his movies only appeal to a small section of movie goers. Tyler Perry movies gross $431,248,229 total for his career, Lee career gross is 371,768,625, but with 11 more movies. Money is the bottom line, that why Tyler has his own studio and Lee don't...

@qmcsing : The Only reason Tyler perry grossed more is because we are in a different time. Back then all your sales came from The Box office. Now there is DVD sales, He sells Plays & DVDs of the plays etc. If that existed when Spike was laying the foundation for cats like Tyler im sure he would have made just as much. However sales have nothing to do with quality. Spike makes quality films. Tyler Perry could never make a film like Inside Man,X, or Miracle At Saint Ana

@TheSonsOfLight Your right about one thing, Tyler will never make a movie like Miracle At Saint Ana, he would lose his ass on that one. After Inside Man Hollywood gave Lee a budget of 45 million and it grossed $9,290,894 and he been quiet ever since. I think there was something called VHS tapes back in the 80's and Blockbuster had some of Lee's movies in their stores at the time. Lee make just enough money to get another movie, Tyler makes enough money to build his empire....

More and more I can tell you're getting frustrated because I not backing down about my support of Tyler Perry, showing stats to back up what I say. Here another for you. Check out Facebook see Tyler's page and Lee page. Lee has more than 60,000 supporters, Tyler has more than 2 million+. Seem to me that more people are interested in Tyler than Lee.....
