Sam thanks for the great videos. I have a slight excessive anterior pelvic tilt. I understand likely caused by weak, lengthened glutes, hamstrings and core, and tight, shortened psoas and quads?
I'd like to know if I should be stretching just the tight and shortened muscles? (or put another way, will stretching my hamstrings and glutes be counter to the goal of correcting lordosis?)
Im a cyclist training for a 300 mile charity ride so the quads are getting a lot of work.
I know some people including myself naturaly have a more of a curvy back, but i think that personal trainer has alittle bit of kythosis going on, im the same trying to set up my own postural training plan to make myself more symetrical, its all thanks to video's like yours im already making great progress thank you!
I'm not aware of any established measurements for those positions. "Neutral", which is a middle between full extension and flexion, is a large range, and ideal in these positions, but it depends on the type of spinal issue.
My right PSIS is pulled out more than the left one, and ive had back pain from a bulging disc, any ideas on how to correct this ? all the videos on youtube only show how to fix the front and back tilts, nothing about my case... any advice would be helpful, thank you Sam
This is a bit more complicated. I don't do videos on this sort of thing, because its advised to see a competent therapist who can assess your pelvic alignment before taking action.
PS: "Fitness Doctors" ?? C'mon guys. Using 'doctor' or any play on the name is false and misleading advertisement. Sam, straighten those guys out with their company name please. You know better.
Finally, someone thinks like me! Good job Sam! "Pelvis measurement as it is TODAY and it MIGHT be from training in last 48 hrs" and could change daily IS good thinking. It is good to finally see someone besides me thinks that through. Trainers often think a measurement THAT day IS 'it' when it is usually in a flux.
Thanks for posting this video Sam. Quick question regarding the use of the Chek Calipers and the landmarks you go for. Do you use the Dimples of Venus on the back as the landmarks for PSIS, and do you place the calipers above the ASIS, on them or below them? You say 'the edge of the crest' in the vid, though I'd appreciate more info on the precise place you position the calipers. Thanks in advance. All the best, Cris
holistic doctors including chiropractors can be disease mongers too! If they charge money or you r insurance than walk away because they are just as distinterested in your health has allopaths. They wat to enrich thenselves just the same.
Great video! I have lower back pain which I think is caused by pelvic tilt and excessive lumbar lordosis. My discs in my lumbar vertebrae are very wedge shaped, with lots of room on the front and very little room on the back. Do you know if correction of pelvic tilt results in more balanced discs, as seen in xrays?
good info! do to the core distortion found in the human body you'll see that left illium is much different than the right illium with pelvic tilt measurements. Which each side has to be treated differently.
I have an anterior tilt and increasing the tilt causes my right leg to go numb. I have had sciatica issues in my right lowerback/leg/calf for the past year and cant afford an mri. I have thought it has been a disc buldge this whole time but now im not sure? any ideas? thank you very much for your informative videos.piriformis stretches also have not helped.
I've been trying too get rid of my anterior tilt for years but never found a conclusive answer. Then I found your videos, which has helped my tremendously. So thank you =)

I seem to have pelvic tilt, however i also have a very excessive lordotic curve, which in alot of pictures ive seen people dont have this.
Can you offer me any clarity on this?

@busybuzzbuzz,
This comment is extremely irrelevant. I'm amazed by the fact that you bother to waste your time posting it. You are blocked. Have a nice day!
