This is pure masterpiece of Drama/Thriller genre. I like Tom Cruise but never found his acting versatile. In this film he showed brilliant/phenomenal acting. Real Tom Cruise.
Jamie Foxx, Jada Pinkett Smith and Mark Ruffalo were great too. I don't know why but this movie reminds me a little bit "The Brave One" with Jodie Foster. Final scenes were intriguing and just awesome
I wrote a few long papers using different forms of rhetorical criticism to suggest that vincent is in fact the character the audience is meant to get behind... I'll hafta post a link to it!
the ending with jamie and annie walking in the end of the movie? the song is called "finale" by james newton howard. and this is my absolute favorite movie ever!
anyone who has seen this movie.. does anyone know the song that starts when you see max and that girl leaving the train.. near the ending.. i love the song. its really pretty so if anyone knows can you tell me.. PLEASE
yea... my view of vincent really is parallel to yours, the coyote scene is of obvious significance to vincent. i have to say, while many view him as a villian, i just view him as misunderstood or mislead. slightly cynical, but rational. logical. music was iffy, audioslave worked, but good vid.
The first time I saw this scene, I sort of got the idea that the coyote was of some signifigance to Vicent. In many ways, I thought the coyote was sort of a metaphor for Vicent, as you see how his eyes light up when he spots the coyote, and just stares at it intently. As if you're supposed to make a connection between the two. Both are hunters prowling the city, looking for their prey. That's how I always took the scene.
ok, unlike the rest of these degenerate retards who probably worship talent-less artists like 50 cent or atreyu, i'm going to compliment this video for both the editing and the SONG too. i'll admit i've never heard of Within Temptation before watching this video, but now i'm going to look them up once i'm done posting this comment. excellent job.

it's difficult for a female to piss all over something? as far as i can tell, you just squatted down and let 'er rip. oh, and about two men forming a bond not being gay, i absolutely agree. the way it was portrayed in the film, it was amazing, but your retarded little video took that and turned it into a miserable fag fest. tell you what, why don't you send me your picture, and if you're hot, i'll forgive you.
yeah. I almost cried at that part. it's like after killing all those people and almost killing Max, he makes one last attempt to be friends with him when he's never really had one before.
lol.. yea vincent was a good guy..just mislead maybe.. smart too, just diffrent view on stuff. "thousands killed before sundown, but did you join amnesty international, you didnt even bat an eye. and now your pissed over one dead fat guy." -tru dat
@Elementsk8ter4life Sarcasm Vincent was a good guy. A sociopath but could not deny he was witting, and like other men enjoyed beer. At Cinescene reviews it is said that it is Max asspires to have confidence, and intellect which Vincent has. Vincent does not have compassion, and does not care that his job involves killing people because he's successful.
OIC take a stand, call hallie berry/gun down gangsters and cops very primal, originally i had thought the coyote a wolf and the bacardi-silver ad in reference to the only known tactic to dispatch a werewolf, but i see that a feral canine wandering a dingy city such as LA could represent mans instinct in its most primal fight or flight scenario, upholding its own will for survival despite the sad state of said surroundings
Your vision is very poor, do you think better than Michael Mann??? Leave the things in the way they are... or make your own movies, don´t destroy the master piece, that is an advice for the future
I think the ending is kinda sad. Vince talks earlier about how a man dies on the MTA and nobody notices for 6 hours. He himself dies on the train, probably to be left unnoticed as the train goes all around the city he hates so much.
Wadems, what is your problem? Shadow on the Sun wasn't that amazing music choice! Just because DWObisidian made a great video, you don't have to rush to protect M. Mann!
This music choice is GREAT. The Shadow on the Sun doesn't hold a candle to this video.
And M. Mann also edited the ending of the script, and made it more depressing! Read the script before they edited it, and it was better!
(Nobodies ever argued in my comments before.. I feel spesh somehow)
My intention was to put it to an ENTIRELY different sort of music.. If I had chosen one similar to Shadow on the Sun, then I could see people assuming I meant to outdo the original.
I only meant to experiment with it, fully respecting the original, which I LOVE to death. The original touched me so deeply, that I just felt like contributing something, my own vision.
My bad. I blame alcohol for my poor tact. I do think that Shadow of the Sun, and particularly Chris Cornell's gritty voice, gives the wolf scene a mood and feel more in tune with the rest of the soundtrack/mood. It's a matter of subjective opionion. Again, my bad though for the lousy tact.
And I agree, if this music had been in the movie, it wouldn't have meant as much to me (if anything at all), especially since I'm such a big Audioslave fan.
yea.... here i have to disagree with wadems...this perice in this video is strong, but its more openly passionate and too revealing, while shadow on the sun shows vincent's true self and struggle, but in a more mysterious, shall i say, vincenty way...my opinion.
I know that, as I already said (a thousand times), I made this for my own enjoyment, and for those (there are many) who enjoy watching these tributes. I never said I was trying to outdo the original. That would be impossible.
I'm considering making a new video for this, now that I'm much better at editing.. Maybe I'll even use that song or one from the same band. Any comments?
What's really neat is how the audio is set to the clips. Like when he gets into the taxi to leave club fever: "I won't run, there's no turning back from here!"
This is a well constructed video...i love the coyote scene, probably my favorite scene of all time. My only criticism is the music choice. But thanks.
Thank you for your honesty. I agree the music pales in comparison to the original, but it was fun to make regardless, and I think it came out alright. :)

What's wrong with the music,it's ok.
As for the scene with the coyote it's not only the best in the film but it's a good scene in the history of cinema.
I like this director a lot (michael mann).
He gives you motive to stand and think.
This movie has similarities with the Heat(same director)
