I saw a picture of nigel before the hair and attitude/.... holy cow... the quintessential choir boy.... he must've been so tired of people ripping on him, that he chose to lash out. You could say effeminate.... but still wouldn't encompass the boyish glow about him, before the radical change, which funny enough did not happen in his youth, but just before he got "really big". I saw him with Page and Plant on their Unledded tour. He was playing the Hurdy Gurdy. I think I was too busy smoking pot to really pay attention tho, but I noticed his instrument was awesome sounding and the light show was sweet.

I first saw Nigel Kennedy around 1990 and he did a set that consisted of Bartok (it sounded sort of Dio'ish so I went with it!,)) but the second half was a tribute to Hendrix..he did the purplest haze that has ever risen and I have loved his stuff ever since..it isnt as if he's trying to be better but trying to show how things could have been...does that make sense or not?

I think he is a great player with foresight and respect but not a great composer as alot of his modren interpretations sound alot like celtic folk, traditonal chinese music, movie music and the such, he could be saying it all comes from the same place but even the most heart felt peice can be meh, I mean lokk at gen Y who has or do not care about any context, not 'art., otherwise i bow to him that he exists but disagree respectfully.

I would rather it had been slower and darker. This version of the song is too bright and uplifting. He makes it sound like Vivadi - interesting, but not nearly dark enough sounding - and done too fast.
