  • if you practice the good things of religion then u call the name of your god also useless cause the basic fundamental also you can understand and practice and in the god it is not something to be proud calling name of the god where by act unethical and like a barbarian . if u call the name of ur god but act like a monkey, then those with no religion or even my pet is more high class than human as they still know what is respect and living harmony .comparing pathetic u can talk, think and read .

  • By the way, ramaraksha, Heaven also means to hear the music you love best. It depends on what you want - and no religion will allow you to enter the Heaven unless you earn it. It is YOU who admires Mother Theresa for always giving the helping hand instead the praying hand. So, for sure she didn't ask the people in need .. what they what the Heaven for. She just helped and that's it ! Never thinking of herself. You dont need to be a philosopher if you want to help. It's the heart, not the language

  • What i mean by giving to ANYONE in need is: You are talking about getting free from attachments, do NOT select according to people kneeling or people willing to earn Paradise or Moksha. Sometimes the human in front of you can't express himself or does it an a way you dont go with. So, it depends on you to see into his heart (by knowing your own) and help him. Making differences among people means "attachments" that you want to get away from.

  • Loved the comments, indeed. As for me (i am not a Buddhist and i am not a Hindu either), never thought that one would kneel to be a slave ! That's a common wrong way of looking at it. If this is what slaves did in the history of mankind, this doesnt mean the kneeling has to lead you to this exclusively. I also see it a way of putting down the concept of self and pride. At the same time, i agree with ramarakha, a helping hand is the first need of one in need. But, listen, give it to ANYONE in need

  • @ramaraksha01 Hmm.... This is getting nowhere.... Let's just say this.... Buddhist concept of karma is really created from within the perceiver's heart/mind. Rinzai Zen teaches the concept of Mu(Nothingness in the essence of what is perceived.) It teaches us to see through illusions created by our selfish mind in order to see True Nature. We must free ourselves from attachment in order to see Truth. ^_^

  • Heaven: A place to indulge in bodily pleasures - sex, wine, food, lie in the sun on the beach. Hit the lottery & u can enjoy heaven right here, no qualifications, nor effort needed. U can beg & grovel for it.

Moksha: A blossoming of the mind - to think like Einstein or Gandhiji, to compose music like Mozart, to create art like Michalangelo or Van Gogh. It is not begged for nor given, it must be EARNED!

I ask Buddhists, do not Kneel when u go to the temple, that is the act of a slave/servant.

  • I think Buddhists kneel not to be slave/servant, but for respect and being able to put down the concept of self and pride. Since every entity has a mind(non-entity), the mind is not material and should not be measured through desires and illusions created by our perceptions. I think Hinduism instead has slaves because in the caste of Shudra, they are kind of like slaves. And in a level even below the caste is the Harijan/Dalit. However, Buddhism has no class (ex. Upali, a monk of "low birth").

  • @dg1000 I am sorry but that was just a horrible description of Hinduism reg caste. Caste originally was nothing but a job classification. Educated people were Brahmins, Kings & soldiers Kshatriyas etc. Sage Viswamitra was originally a Kshatriya, later became a Brahmin - every educated person was a Brahmin, every warrior was a Kshatriya - it didn't depend on birth. That came later, when people decided to keep others out. Caste as it is now, has nothing to do with Hinduism.

  • @dg1000 karma is NOT a tit-for-tat system - an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. Two wrongs don't make a Right. In addition, i don't believe that Hindus are "punished" by being born in a lower class - a Teacher is not interested in "punishing" Her students - She wants to Teach, educate Her students - to me, it's like a student who doesn't study, he falls behind his peers, similarly those who do not lead a clean life, simply fall behind others in the quest for Moksha.

  • I dont believe in any religion.

i only believe in the religion being a good person. :-D

  • cool song

  • IF a religion makes your heart shine, share the goodness with other regardless of the same religion or not.

  • Buddhas are those who reach nirvana *enlightenment*, just like malay's prophet Ibrahim or whoever, or Jesus in Christianity. Well I do respect individual religions, this song is nice. Wanna learn sankrit in future lol (fyi I'm a Christ follower)

  • 南無大日如來

  • #manshi: DO YOU RESPECT PAEDOHILIA?

The Muslim's prophet myhammad married and had sex with a 9 year old Aisha.

    He also said:

"Fight against people until they say there is no God but Allah", abrogated an earlier tradition. Abu Dawud vol.2 no.3188 p.908

Anyone who kills an infidel is guaranteed Paradise. Abu Dawud vol.2 no.2489 p.690. See also Abu Dawud vol.2 footnote 1843 p.691

  • @derekw1984 hmm...... all religion are good..... all teach good things...

please becareful when u want to talk =)

we have to respect each other....

is it , im gt said anything wrong that hurt you?

    if yes , sorry.......

  • @derekw1984 Buddha is not a God. No disrespect but how we human being define truth? If there is God, why are there still suffering everywhere?

  • @zingrill True, Buddha is not a God, he's a teacher that has reached no-self and a state of wisdom-consciousness.

And there are no God, but there are gods (still in six realms) fueled with passions that regulate the cycle of nature. But, according to my Jap Studies class, it was proposed that there is suffering because at some point in time, even the gods/nature are confused with the nature of life and the truth of the universe, hence why destructive nature exists in the six realms. ^_^

  • @derekw1984 Fyi Buddha is not a God.

  • @derekw1984 ...we have too much religious conflict for more than thousand years until now. It's time for everybody to learn to respect every religion on earth.

  • @yaohong1 even religions that call for the destruction and subjugation of the believers of other religions? (like Islam) I have no problem respecting followers of all religions (so long as they are not infringing on anyone's rights), but there is no reason that any religion should enjoy equal respect from a person, except based on an objective standard based on what is true/false, and right/wrong

  • @marephrem Misunderstanding among religions will call for destruction and subjugation of believers of other religions. This can happen not only among religions but also people from different cultures or ideologies. Different religion or culture can have different standard that cannot be applied to everyone. To respect each other differences, open minded and tolerance are playing a very important role here.

  • @yaohong1 Well then I guess your standard of respect shouldn't apply to everyone eh? There is ONE OBJECTIVE STANDARD OF TRUTH AND MORALITY. It will be, and must be applied very differently on all people. But the principles of Love, Mercy, Truth, Mercy, Justice, Patience and Forgiveness are the same for all human beings. The moment we start to realize that some religions do not really teach these, is the moment we wake up from this political correct propaganda that all religions are equal.

  • @marephrem Thanks for your ideas. Love, Mercy, Truth, Justice, Patience and Forgiveness can have different levels if you go through different religious texts. E.g. certain religion defined love to narrow extent, while others define in a broad spectrum. It is not a good idea to wipe up people who do not have the same understanding like you, right? Sounds like beginning of religious conflicts again due to certain religion do not have the same teaching like your :)

  • @yaohong1 If moral standards can never be applied equally on all people, then you have no right to tell me that my method will result in a loss of respect between religions. My standard of respect is different than your standard of "respect". And you have no right to tell me what to respect or not. But even saying that means for some reason all humans are by bound a standard of having to refrain from telling people how to live.

  • @yaohong1 But if there are no standards, then some people should be allowed to tell each other how to live, and others shouldn't (according to their own standard). And do you see how, in ever step I try to back out of this Objective and Universal Standard of Morality and Truth, I only end up falling back to where I began? We humans are all interconnected, and Truth is Truth. It is objective, when I begin to state that Truth is subjective, then my claim cannot be anymore objective.

  • @yaohong1 The moment I begin to tell you that it is absolutely true that there are no absolutely-binding truths is the moment I become absurd.

  • @marephrem The followers of different faiths have to respect one another though they may not agree to one anothers' teaching. Dialogues between different religions are important to have mutual understandings. There is no court to put every religion on trial which eventually set up an Absolute Standard Religion for all human beings.

  • @yaohong1 True! Since there are so many religions, and as a religious practitioner we are our religions' avatar! I don't think that religions should war with each other to be the best God of all or to prove which is higher, but to work together with a mind of benevolence. B/c eventually this would develop into hatred and wrath and pride. Wrath and Pride are 2 of the 7 deadly sins! 8D

  • Hi derekw1984

When you said "fat god" This sounds like "ignorant" Do your own study on Buddhism with open mind to make complete sense. The key words are "Eight fold paths and Four noble Truths" I also don't deny Jesus Christ. Buddhism is open for everyone. Someone doesn't have to give up a religion to practice Buddism.

  • @derekw1984 Well, it all depends if the 'religion' fits the person itself. Also, let's say that 'God' comes in many forms. Culture and lifestyle would diverge how a person perceive truth. For example, Dainichi Nyorai isn't really a God, but formless truth, like YHWH (although perceived by mortals as 'God').In Zen Buddhism, it is actually a lifestyle that can be practiced through mindful everyday actions in life, where worship is not even necessary. Just like Christianity's view of doing good.8D

  • @derekw1984 Did you know that Buddhist don't acknowledge a Buddha as a god? But as a teacher (just like a priest/rabbi). A Buddha is really a person, just like you and me that realized the truth behind suffering from mindless desires and ignorance, and put a stop to this countless cycle. It does not matter if Christianity is the biggest or not. Just like in the past when people said global warming was a lie, look at what is happening now.8D But, Christianity is equally a great religion!

  • @derekw1984 Buddhism is taught initially as a way to end suffering by putting aside mortal desires and ignorance. Shakyamuni's original goal was just to find out why there is suffering and how to halt it. He did not thought of becoming a God or whatever.... He's a teacher that teaches you methods based on your ability to understand and try out/experience his teachings. For example, Suddhipanthaka.

  • @derekw1984 Buddha is not a religion, It's just a way of saying thanks for teaching them how to be kind to others and animals. Don't make yourself look clean, If you were truly christian you shouldn't be judging others by what they believe in. Jesus taught us not to judge.

  • @derekw1984 Were all the same in God's eyes

  • Let's dump this vile, abusive, disgusting concept of Hell. God buys love & loyalty with the threat of torture? A Gandhi, Teresa, Mandela would never think of torturing their enemies, whereas a Saddam, Hitler, Stalin would. This is the company that God keeps?

Karma & Rebirth is the better way, the non-violent way. You are not punished, nor are you simply forgiven because you begged enough. You are reborn, given another chance to make amends.

  • @ramaraksha01 is good song

  • @ramaraksha01 I think karma concept really tells of a cause and effect cycle just like physics (action and reaction, Newton's 3rd law, I think). And that one is always responsible for their own action. I can't really say that I am free of sin since God forgave me, since I carry an aspect of guilt with me for the rest of my life.... But, I respect both because they teach people to do good. As well as other major and minor religions. 8D

  • @dg1000 No i think u misunderstand karma - it's not a tit-for-tat system - 2 wrongs don't make a right. An eye for an eye makes the whole world go blind. All Karma & Rebirth does is to give us another chance to make amends & continue on our path towards Moksha. Saying sorry is not Repentance, it's just regret, remorse, the START of Repentance. You must make amends - that's where karma & Rebirth come in. Don't kneel to God, don't ask for mercy, don't beg for forgiveness.

  • @ramaraksha01 In a way, it does give us a chance, but the person should be able to realize the chance. Many people are reborn and do not know of their past, although karma itself gives indications to why bad things happen to them in this life.... I don't kneel for forgiveness, I try to use this as experience....

Nice insight, but I think the concept of karma differs between Buddhism and Hinduism.... Since, Hinduism is based on the four caste mainly and the gods. While Buddhism has ten realms.

  • @dg1000 I don't understand religions that teach followers to self-flagellate themselves as sinners. As a Hindu I don't see myself that way nor do I seek anyone's forgiveness. If i made a mistake let me correct it, why should i be forgiven? That's begging & groveling & i don't do that. Hinduism is a Teacher faith - if I get an F, don't beg the Teacher to change it - work hard, sacrifice, do better next time & EARN that A. Hinduism is a Tougher faith.

  • Hinduism, in my opinion is kinda closed and class-biased, because one must work up the caste to be a Brahmin and eventually become one with Brahman; however in Buddhism although in lower caste, or even in lower realms, one could easily reach Nirvana(similar to Mohsha) from many different realizations and practices. Such as reciting Amitabha, practicing Zen(realization through daily activities), knowing 4 Noble Truths and Noble 8 fold path, and so on....

  • @dg1000 I just don't think sitting in a corner & reciting mantras is going to get u any closer to Moksha. Mother Teresa i believe said, Helping hand are better than praying hands. Work to make this a better world, improve yourself, THEN u get closer to Moksha.

I do have a problem with kneeling - as i posted - it is the position of the defeated, the slave, the servant - these people blindly obey - Terrorists are those who blindly obey not thinking of right from wrong.
