does it matter what kind of Helmet you use I mean I have a half helmet and it is DOT approve..I was just wondering if I could use it for the course or not....and I have have plain leather gloves aswell....
That's a nice helmet, i'm starting to like ICON's designs more, not to mention there one of the few brands that fit me comfortably. I want to get the 'Death From Above' ICON Helmet. I really like that design. I'm like you, my head is priceless, but I don't have a whole lot of money. I'm starting to collect helmets, maybe i'll get to a point when i can rock a different one whenever I ride. My next acquistion will be a Shark RSI or RSR2.
Icon's make good helmets, you'll be happy with that helmet. When I was in the market for a helmet I was stuck between the Arai Corsair and the Shoei X-11 08 models. In I decided on going with the Shoei X-11 Its one of the most comfortable helmets Ive ever had on my head besides being one of the lightest next to the Shark Rsr2. I did a head check at 110+ mph and it had little to no buffeting or wind drag. If your ever in the Bay Area im the guy on one of the only Buell firebolt Xb9r's.
dude, freakin nice helmet! i wanna get the red one. When you ride around town and park your bike, do you strap your helmet to your bike or do you carry it around with you? cause i don't know how i feel about leaving a $400 on my bike for assholes to try and steal
I left my helmet locked on my bike one time when I went to a jewish church. If those fools were to steal my helment in front of a church, they can have it. Any fool that crazy enough to steal a helmet in a church parking lot, deserves to have it.
haha 350 bucks, my Shoei X-11 was 470 after 15% military discount. But it vents 100% better than my scorpion, will mos def pay for it's self once summer hits. Clear & Dark smoke, how I roll. Icon's helmets are catchy with the graphics, but snell or higher is the way to go with protection. More expensive helmets ur paying for high tech materials mostly, and it's what the pro racers use, so that drives up the price also. But you also pay what you get for, and my Shoei is much better than my exo400
My helmet is actually a 400 helmet, I bought 700.00 worth of gear that day and they gave me a mean discount ;). I love my helmet though, people know me just by the design on it and I've had other bikers ask where I got it. Tehe The Bikers around here know each other by helmets, like only one dude here has a Mohawk helm ;)
I know how it goes, I have like 3000 bucks in gear, winter gear, and summer gear, 3 helmets, 2 peice leather's 2 pair of boots, liek 5 pairs of gloves, heated gloves, balcalava's. Can't put a price on ur life, if u can afford to spend thousands on a bike then u can afford to spend at least several hundred on gear to keep u as safe as can be.
hehe, "like a fat kid in the gym". I remember when the cheek pads were really tight for me. They still kind of are because you can hear it when I vlog on my bike but they have gone down significantly.

Well its dot AND snell approved and the padding looked pretty intense :-P So i wouldnt worry too much.

icon is sorta crappy...you paid $350 for it..wow, you shoulda spend the extra $70 for a shoei.
