  • The "Girls" video was weak but this behind the scenes montage is great!

  • Wonderful song about lonleness, desperation, and coming to terms with the fact that youth does not last forever. Love the way the song changes so the singer is trying to cling on to the nice things of his past and how he is reaching out in desperation for something or someone to bring it all back.

    The man is a genius.

  • I just heard this song a few days ago, and i love it. He (Bruce) always seems to bring faith back into my soul.

  • @cheeks11us Live long and prosper

  • me enkanta eres lo maximo bruce

  • Dear Ian Mcnabb..... if i were you , i would feel very proud

  • Comment removed

  • Now he's channelling Spector via Wilson. Effing brilliant! His best in decades. Exactly this song made me go out and buy "Magic".

  • Exactly what I thought, sounded like an old Beach Boys Tune....hey, at this point there aren't many things that haven't been done before so it's all kind of a "recycling" if you will...he just puts his own spin on things and of course w/ him it's usually right on the money(IMO< Best American Rock & Roll Artist of the Age).........

  • Has sort of an old school Beach Boys quality about it doesn't it? (Shades of Brian Wilson anyone?)

  • good song, cheesy pictures.

  • toujours aussi ,beau ,je l'adore et plus encore

  • this is so like ian mcnabb.

  • Yeah, i love that chord change at 3:31 too...he does it right after mentioning the "cool of the evening..."--it's almost like the transition from day to night.

  • My guy

  • Kocham to. Zupełnie inny Bruce. "Nie amerykański". Taki mnie się podoba.

  • dont hav words.... its just beautiful....

  • This is my dad's favorite song, I can see why. It's amazin

  • The boss in una performance spettacolare, poco passata nelle maggiori radio italiane! Vergognatevi!

  • My fav part is from 1:59 to 2:31

  • I can't explain it, but that chord change around 3:31 is my favourite part of the song. I love this tune. It's like a California, Beach Boys flavoured pop song washed up on the Jersey shore. I love how there's a hint of melancholy under the sunshine and daylight. And isn't it comforting to see that more that 30 years later, Bruce is still under the boardwalk?

  • Yeah, I love that part too. I think it's just a change in key that appears to lift the notes up by a few notes. I think a lot of his modern stuff beats a lot of his older stuff. But it's all great.

  • Perfectly said and that chord change at 3:31 has the same effect on me too. Nothing short of brilliant.

  • TOTALLY agree. I always wait for that chord change. Love it.

  • An American Treasure!!!

  • Bruce is The Boss of rock `n roll - forever!

  • great song, and the video is nicely done!

  • Was für ein wahnsinns Song.

  • @MustafaCemal: Your country isn´t able to bild up a real democracy and your religion doesn´t allow women to dress the way they want. it makes me said that you talk in such a way about a musician who tried to build a bridge between moslems and christians (listen to "worlds apart").

  • The Kids Are Alright

  • what i wrote is for @larryc2321

  • he is the man!

  • you shure are mean if you do not like Bruce Springsteen and that was really mean.oh and yah why are you whatching Bruce's vids

  • I Agree with you how can anyone say a bad word about The Boss, Bruce has wiritten some of the greatest songs ever ive loved his music since The River and i always wil,l go on the great Bruce Springsteen

  • Another beautiful song from the greatest bloke to pick up the guitar. When he writes and sings a song he caters for everyone and every situation. A man who is an icon, but never thinks of himself, just all of us! Thanks Bruce

  • 19 Grammy's, 2 Golden Globes and 1 Oscar. He deserves more.

  • I hope i will meet this fantastic guy sometime. In heaven, in earth, in hell i don't care!!!

Truly one of the universe absolute greatest

    musician!!

    See ya Bruce....

  • very nice pics

  • Bruce - The Boss, forever!

  • springsteen is so great !!! fantastic lyrics in all of his songs!<3

  • this is a happy song.

  • Im seeing him this sunday night...havent seen bruce and the boys since the e street band got back together in 2000...im soooo stoked, but looking at the recent set lists im sad to see that a lot of faves are being performed that much, if at all...my dream set list includes point blank, tunnel of love, adam raised a cain, backstreets, if i should fall behind, the river, blinded by the light, because the night, trapped...whatever they do, it'll be great

  • your reply to me is meant for someone else, perhaps? i make no mention of his singing or his voice..only his set lists...curious tho, if youre a not a fan of his to begin with then why are u watching his videos ? :)

  • Why is it that people of have accomplished absolutely nothing criticize the giants among us.

Bruce Springsteen has brought more joy and more help getting through tough times t more people than any other living person.

"But he can't sing..." I'm very sorry what happened to you to made you so jealous and resentful.

    Rock on.

  • i think you are the only who thinks that BOSS is not good at singing,i think that realy,he hasn't got a great voice, but it's beautiful and he had written the most perfect songs of all time...everyboby thinks that he is the best in that, and even the people who are not listen to him,he's not their style they think he is one of the best.....ANYWAY you have got your opinion and i have got mine...

  • He has about 300 published songs, most of them, at least, "very good," and, IMO, the top 100 are great and the top 50 are works of genius.

He plays about 26 or so songs in three intense hours - song, song, song, song - each bleeding ito the next.

It is simply impossible for him to play a set that will be perfect for anyone.

I suggest being thankful for the honor of sharing the same time and space and doing your best to enjoy and appreciate whatever he plays. The show **WILL** be great.

  • @CPSJSMSUUMUGA When Bruce springsteen rocked in Oslo 07.07.08, I had a wishlist of songs wich I wanted him to play. He played 2 of them, one was "Racing in the street". Pure magic.. I'll never forget that performance.

  • @CPSJSMSUUMUGA Bruce is a master. Anyone who disagrees with that probably is basing their opinions on Bruce's politics, which, considering we are talking about his music, is pretty narrow.

  • example of brilliance

  • What a lovely tune, I heard this today for the first time, and love this !

  • love da song

  • fantastic as allways

  • Funny that the video shoot for Girls In Their Summer Clothes seems to have taken place in the winter.

  • HaHa thats what the songs all about thinking about summer in winter time Gee get out more this is one of the best songs of the decade it's freezing today in Scotland and my thoughts are of Girls In Their Summer Clothes what thanx for the thought Bruce

  • It is not about that at all. They tried to make it look like he summer but it didn't work so well.

  • The song was written in late summer Bruce with thoughts of Girls in their summer clothes they made a WINTER MIX of the song hence the video in winter it's a song that lets you interpit any way you like you're not using your imagination just being annoying for annoying sake get the chip off your shoulder get out your music bubble and enjoy many different music genre

  • This song is awsome, but please everyone listen to a brilliant Liverpool band from the 80's called The Icicle Works.....this has to be them!!!!

  • this song always sounds to me like it should have been on the rising. The strings in the into and the vocal effects are really similar to the style of the rising.

  • on fire they nailed this in the studio

  • thought this had been `wmg`d` ?? bruce at his finest. thanx 4 postin.

  • Great song. I remember Springsteen talking about how much he loved the Pet Sounds album by the Beach Boys. This song would fit on that album. I can feel the sun and hear the ocean at Stone Harbour when I hear this song

  • This is one terrific song as I have commented already 5 months ago. I have to share a funny story. When I was in the Navy overseas in 1973 Springsteen's picture was on every magazine cover. I said "Wow, this guy's voice must be a cross between Paul McCartney and Bobby Rydell" I got the tape and when I heard "Sandy, fireworks are halin..." I said "THIS???! THIS is the guy ????!! After a while I have to admit his music can grow on you.

  • When you say that you were in the navy I assume that you mean the British Senior Service. Which ship were you on. My father was on HMS Antrim in 1973. Please correct me if I am wrong as I hate to be deliberately offensive like, for example, a lot of Americans who assume that they have the only navy in the world or that the internet is only available in America.

  • Oh no, I'm sorry for the confusion. I was in the American Navy. I'm certain every former serviceman just says "when I was in the Navy, Army, Air Force...." I never met anyone who said "This reminds me of when I was in the American Navy" or German Army" or "English Navy" etc.

  • der mann ist einzigartig.

  • genial tu voz bruce me encanta todas tus canciones¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • ich liebe diesen song so sehr

  • Great pics ty

  • It took me awhile to like this album. This is great

  • This song just gets more and more beautiful as time passes.

    :}

  • Sgt. Peeper ruled the Gondala in Wildwood, NY and Bruce led the way.

  • In them eighties I liked Bruce Springsteen, the reason was he seemed a very fine man, in his interviews. A man you could trust and like.

  • Been there - done that - still have the scars. This song makes me choke up. Classic.

  • i was in milan, eighties, with my americanboyfriend to watch bruce. 25yrs later, i met my ex in usa and we are back together. we still listen to bruce.. and always young

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!

  • Bruce Kocham Cie!!jesteś wspaniały!!:)

  • Myślę, że Bruce jest zbyt wielka, to idziesz, aby zobaczyć go na wycieczkę w tym roku?

  • No Summer wihout Bruce <3

  • No surrender?

  • A great song, even a Springsteen Classic, but he also plays a bit of a trick - the beautiful melody, and the heart breaking lyrics.

The girls in their summer clothes

    pass me by

    It's similar to Glory Days

Sometimes I sit around thinking about it,

when the girls in their summer clothes

    didn't pass me by

    La la la

    The guy's a genius.

  • can you explain what you mean about the similarity to Glory Days? I'm curious but I don't think I quite follow you. Two of my favorites by the Boss...

  • Glory Days is a song about the passage of time, about growing older and, eventually, old, about living in the past, in your head.

He plays it in an upbeat, even funny way, but it's ultimately a sad song.

Summer Clothes has the same theme.

    Guy heads out, all hopeful.

"...tonight I'm gonna burn this town down"

    but

The girls in their summer clothes, *pass me by*

  • and

"She went away, she cut me like a knife"

    They look right through him:

"Hello beautiful thing, maybe you could save my life"

    But she doesn't,

"The girls in their summer clothes

In the cool of the evening light

The girls in their summer clothes,

    pass me by"

  • beautiful song....and video

  • I love this song, saw Bruce in Gothenburg 2008, and this was one of his songs

  • Very great song. I love girls in their summer clothes... in real life

  • great song and video! love girls in their summer clothes!

  • I can't understand why this song didn't become a big hit last summer. Just about this time last year I heard it for the first time and I was convinced that on every boardwalk at the Jersey Shore, I would hear this over and over, but NO, not once! Why not?????

  • Great Question. Same with Radio Nowhere. great Song, but idnt go real high on the charts. These young snot kids today just do not apreciate real music. This song will always associate summer in new jersey for me. It's up to us to keep it the hit that it really is

  • I'm 18 and love this song and Springsteen!! There are those of us out there who still love real music!!

  • same to me :) i'm 18 too and love his music!

  • I agree! Although, I'm 21, and a Bruce fanatic. Not all of us youngsters are hanging out in our rooms listening to the Jonas Brothers....etc. I proudly have Bruce Springsteen, The Beatles, Edith Piaf, The Doors...etc in my CD player, and on my MP3 player! : )

  • Rock on my rock brother. You show some excellent taste.

  • Right on! I'm twenty and I've been a Bruce's fan for years, i also saw his concert, it rocked big time! And I'm going to see him again this summer. Good taste you have there, The Doors, Piaf.. And the Boss of course.

  • I'm 23 and love Bruce and Queen and sooo much classic rock.

Hey, I have a degree in popular music, I must know something about it! haha

  • i do! ive been brought up with it. my dad always goes on about how modern music is bollox. some is. but the best music made was in the 60s 70s and 80s and 90s and sum nowadayds but mostly 60s and 70s

  • Dont forget to pick up ''Working On A Dream''folks :)

  • The boss is always the number one!!!!!

  • Killer vid! *****!

  • I adore it, it's such a nice song to listen to:)

  • The girls might be in their summer clothes but Bruce is looking a tad cold.

  • Yeah, that's the point of the song:

"The gorls in their summer clothes

In the cool of the evening light

The girls in their summer clothes

    **Pass me by**"

That's if taken literally. For me, it means that whatever I once dreamed about, or realistically hoped to obtain, is now out of reach.

It's a sad song lyrically, but those lyrics are hidden beneath the beautiful, upbeat melody.

Just one more example of why he's Bruce Springsteen, and everyone else is not.

  • @CPSJSMSUUMUGA Well said man. I'm 43 now and this song is me to a T.Thank God I've got a beautiful wife.

  • The Boss...rock us on, please!!

  • What a great song, Well done Boss! :D

  • what a bruce

  • INCREIBLE CANCION!!

  • July 27&28 !!!!!!! Can it get here any sooner!!!!!!!! The "Boss" comes home!!! See ya soon guys....Girls in there summer clothes...La La La La La La La

  • he is the boss no doubt about it. there is no one like Bruce

  • God i love this man! Where are all those sexy Jersey boys anyway?

    The girls miss you!

  • right by my house !

  • ocean grove!!!

  • so true - didnt think of that!!! Oh well going to see him tomorrow and in another three days - life doesn't get much better than this....

  • It's brilliant! But why didn't they release it in the summer - it would have been a massive hit.

  • NICE!!

  • where would you find a video shoot? ex:time and details

  • I was also at the taping of this video. It was one of the true highlights of my life...seeing Bruce up close and personal. This song will always hold special meaning for me..I'm a jersey girl! Great photos! Thanks for posting...i love watching it over and over again!

  • Bruce with the huge kingdom of light concentrated on his large forehead standing against the beautiful horizon...he is one of the most powerful and expressive silhouette I have ever seen.

  • your dads got great taste i;m a grandfather and

i;m the same age as bruce and listening to his music since the 70;s and never gets old

  • very nice job i am very impressed :)

  • Andy great shots and posting them for your cousin who lives in leonardo NJ and his 15 yr old son who has cancer and Andy is using the money he makes for him and for the local foodbank. I know people will buy them.....I will.....Talk to you soon Jimmy from Austin tx

  • Can't wait for the 2nd leg of The Magic Tour.....come on Hartford !!!!

  • You know, i would probably really like his music. But my dad is seriously obsessed with him which has made me not able to stand him.

and by obsessed I mean everytime we have company he shows them all his Bruce stuff.

  • See him live and then decide

  • I have, twice

  • AHAHAhah This is nice and makes your father really "Human touched". His unperfection... is one more reason for you to understand him and to ove him :-)

  • Your Dad and I share the same love of Bruce. I wish I could see his collection. Mine goes back 30 years- great stuff!

  • thank you so much for posting this. the man is a rock god. a lyrical genius. and sexier than ever!

  • Great stuff. Thanks for posting.
