  • There's something about the way she says "I hated you, loved you too" that I just love. The look on her face, the way she sings, her eyes, the lyrics, the music, is freaking hypnotizing me!

  • she must get sick of that song

  • Amazing is not the word to describe Kate Bush unique is the word thank you to this gracious lady for all she did

  • I can't stop imagining her lips around my cock.......

  • @staffsmole me too and I don't even have one.

  • does anyone else see charlotte church???

  • @es78xx you are kidding of course

  • Reminds me O My Laurel Mac T...xoxoxoxo

  • i wanna face fuck her

  • This girl caused her people some headaches when she wouldn't take the plane. Unique songstress though.

  • BIG!!! BIG KATE BUSH..

  • How many of you also get pictures of Cathy and Heathcliff running towards each other on The Dave Allen Show? Anyhow great song. I always wanted to see Kate Bush in the role of Kathy. Then the movie could end with her singing this song outside the windows in the wind... Maybe even with Heathcliff howling like a crazy wolf towards the moon. Now that would be epic aesthetics ;)

  • Beautiful genius.

  • superbement déjantée !

  • She is still beautiful. Not just for her age!

  • Kate is and wil be the bestt singing feanle voice in the 90:thies!

  • this video's thumbnail is precious

  • I remeber seeing this on Top of the Pops in 1978 and thinking "what the hell is this crap???" By the time it had finished a few minutes later I thought it was fantastic. Once you know wht the song is about, it works!

  • @MrSpidron I agree ,the same happened to me but what a song it is.such a good singer and gorgeous.

  • Me ziu cariu ca puompa. Come dimenticarla? :)

    (PS dedicata al nurri)

  • She is sooo beautiful. And her music is timeless. Edmonton Circa1978 Roller Drome.

  • Christ alive

  • The best lips in the world!

  • A very mysterious person who doesn't take of her clothes like others do.She's lovely!

  • oddly enough her voice sounds more surreal than it ever did nowadays.

  • ABSOLUTLY AMAZING WOMEN, will always love and respect this lady, her dancing, her songs, her poetic use of words are all in my heart forever.x

  • Kate Bush doing Kate Bush like only Kate Bush can. Brilliant!

  • Good, but what is this lady on?

  • What an amazing beautiful voice.

  • florence and the machine, she sings everything as loud as possible, everything she does sounds the same, listen to the diversity of kate, every track is different as is every album,

  • Unless you've actually read Wuthering Heights or seen the film then this song is just confusing.

  • AAAH!!! back when a song's lyrics had meaning and substance rather than thuggish rap music v injected in every other verse.

  • is it just me or do I see just a tiny little connect with Florence + the Machine...ie unique voice...great music...wonderful lyrics? LOVED Kate forever...really like F + M now.

  • We live in a world where the word "genius" is thrown around for virtually any reason. And all the while Kate's there as the real thing. I don't know how these songs were written. They're not just good, they contain actual magic!

  • @evansdm2008 Well said.

  • kate is and always has been amazing, Lady Gaga, all been done before and much better, stupid costumes, grace jones, elton john, etc, take away all the electronics and theres not much left,

  • @The51brian YES thankyou!!! Gaga, Beyonce, Rihhanna, Adele etc etc etc so overrated and dumb. Adele aside, all they sing about is sex, boys, partying and more sex. I'm in my 20's and i despise music of today, sometimes it makes me wish music never exsisted. Kate Bush is genius and her music will live on.

  • She makes the best faces when she looks at the camera.

  • i miss the cartwheel

  • Never have I seen a woman who is so gorgeous, sexy, beautiful, scary and talented all at the same time......absolutely incredible.....those eyes!....that voice!!

  • @Doodsydownunder True.

  • kate is such an amazing singer and her voice suited every song she sang like here music so long now

  • She's incredible the way she hits those notes.....love to see some of the pop tarts polluting the charts these days try and sing like this.

  • man why cant we have music liek this today??? where did the real mueic artist go???

  • @d0gm34t

I used to think like you..But there are alot of great artists out there today as well but you wont them in the charts. You need to dig deeper...

  • She looks kinda alien

  • Can' t help thinking she was sending herself up with the eye rolling routine etc I expect she was fed up with the piss-poor band. Still KB is more erotic sitting down than than the rest of today's pop tarts gyrating in their g-strings put together.

  • @bearfog07 she wasn't discovered by pink Floyd she was discovered by Andy McKay from roxy music but you are right about the talent check out an oz band called the jezabels not the same ..but similar and independent cheers

  • @cellulitehero From Wikipedia: "... During this time her family produced a demo tape with over 50 of her compositions, which was turned down by record labels. David Gilmour of Pink Floyd received the demo from Ricky Hopper, a mutual friend of Gilmour and the Bush family. Impressed with what he heard, Gilmour helped the sixteen-year-old Bush get a more professional-sounding demo tape recorded that would be more saleable to the record companies."

  • I totally love this song.... What a voice, great artist!:-))

I realise suddenly that my make-up is still very 1978... :-))

    Blessed Be;

    Althea )0(

  • Gotta love those eyes!!

  • I was 8 but who cares, Kate Bush presented a song that remains in my memory from my time in Scotland , one year exodus.

  • aleister crowley would've loved her....

  • still like this song

  • Comment removed

  • Simply beautiful and she sings like an angel

  • BokKejte..

  • What a song, and such a beautiful voice! It's a shame now music is dead

  • What a talent and she was discovered by Pink Floyd, a legendary band

  • I think this is the most gorgeous thing I've seen in this life...

  • @sorihewi Can't disagree with that, she's just so beautiful.

  • @sorihewi me too

  • Our Lay Gaga of the 70tees,

  • @Kashmir1907 Sorry but Lady Gaga doesn't get even close to her...

  • @Kashmir1907

Lady Gaga could never touch Kate.

Besides Kate Bush had real originality, Gaga on the other is basically just a Madonna clone.

  • @MantiaRyche Is anyone else getting downright fed up with Lady bloody Gaga being mentioned in every music fans. Message to the Gaga fanboys, music existed for a long time before Gaga, and will remain when (hopefully soon) Gaga is forgotten.

  • @jadefalconmk1

Yes, I am getting sick of it. Cant even go to an Amy Grant without seeing her name somewhere. They talk about her as she re-invented pop music. Theres nothing new that Gaga does that Madonna has not done the last 20-30 years.

  • @MantiaRyche

    *video

  • @MantiaRyche I remember when Madonna first started (showing my age there), and there wasnt even the same over the top stuff that the Gaga fans are doing now. Madonna had quite a it of shock, controversy and discussion, but there wasn't the slavish cultlike following like the Gaga lot.

  • I remember being amazed in 1978 watching this on top of the pops when I was 14, still think Kate is incredible. True ground breaker that set standards.

  • 4th play in a row and I'm still buzzing.

  • @fritz51304! Danke fuer den Text !

  • Her lips! Holy shit!

  • Pure genius and complete class. 1978? Beats the poop out of anything from 2012.

  • 1:10 pahahahahaha :) she crazy.

  • play it again, play it again!

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh where did music go X-/

  • Kate is hot here

  • fuck lady gaga...viva kate

  • oh ! those lips.. She's FAB

  • love the way she just stares in to the camera and hardly looks down at her piano :) Kate you are such an amazing, talented, beautiful woman i love you <3 X

  • Dear God, thanks for Kate's voice!

  • back when pop music reached it's peak in creativity

  • if im not mistaken no one even can sing in eight octaves, let alone ten.

  • @EveryLosersDream She sings over 9000 octivz!

  • Kippevel,...te gek!

  • was she a jew??

  • She is one of the best songbirds I've ever heard!

  • i didnt know kate bush can play a piano lol ha cool

  • i don't understand , when i was a child i hear this song,and his voice is not like that !!

  • lindooooooooooooooooo

  • WOW live gesungen..super

  • great song - still today!

  • Instant boner

  • makes you realise how shit lady gaga is.

  • @fondoogle

    Absolutely!

  • @fondoogle THE BEST COMMENT EVER, THANK U

  • @fondoogle Yeeah! Hahaha! Best comment ever :-)

  • @fondoogle lady gaga is shit but looks wise theyre kinda on a par, I used to have the utmost dislike of gaga until I saw some youtube video showing her without the make up and stupid costumes, shes actually really quite hot, but what would you expect from someone whos italian

  • @fondoogle Be careful with what you are saying here. I don't want Gaga to prove you and me otherwise by molesting this song in a video with 25 one-legged transsexual vampire cannibals doing an Inca dance while she wearing a Golden Gate bridge dress with coconut sunglasses.

  • @Mrpretpakket pffffft now i want to see that with my buddies while drunk. We're gonna have a hell of a laugh.

  • @Mrpretpakket

    Ahahaha

  • @Mrpretpakket lol..you forgot the triple camel toe...lol

  • @fondoogle are u for real?! have you seen gaga live? u realise she writes all her own material? composes.. directs her own music videos. and tony bennet has named her the most talented women he has met.. named her a musical genius.. not my words.. his! both are awesome. gaga is overlooked because her costumes when really shes a classically trained pianist.. her voice is .. quiet something. don't be ignorant and bash other artist for what?

  • @shinznay

Lady Gaga does nothing but market mini skirts for 12 year olds. Yes she writes her own music, but wheres her fucking dignity? Too busy being " weird" and "freaky" to realise that 80% of her fans are under 15's who do everything she does. Including sucking black dick every friday not and wearing as little as possible. She's a shit role model and shouldn't be market to children by her record label.

Alas, anything for a quick dollar these days.

    Fucking disgrace.

  • @fondoogle market mini skirts for 12 yr olds? hahahah what? my mother.. 36.. big fan.. been to two of her concerts.. more than i have. i guess people like different things and thats okay. gaga stands up for equality. she has changed a law in america, what artist that just cares about money would do that? would put there career on the line? she did. gay marriage is now legal in new york thanks to her. her song born this way has an amazing message. she actually makes me feel good about myself

  • @shinznay I'm sure lady gaga fans would find it an amazing achievement for humanity that gay marriage is now legal in ny, how could the world live without this? Wow! Next thing you know you will be comparing her to Jesus and Buddha or even worshiping her as God.

  • @sorihewi I think gay marriage is an amazing achievement. Gay people were being arbitrarily arrested forty years ago for no other reason than because they were gay. That said, I don't think she changed the law only by herself, nor do I think she is any where near as talented as Kate Bush. I think Gaga has done a lot for equality, though.

  • @fondoogle mmm, I'd prefer kids of mine to listen to her music and learn from her message of acceptance than be influenced by a racist like you.

  • @fondoogle Gaga is a bratty Italian egotistical b*tch just like Madonna

  • @fondoogle Agreed

  • This song gives me the chills but in a good kind of way. I can't stop listening to it and I don't even like the story of Wuthering Heights that much.

  • Simon Lane sent me

  • @icecreamcancer whos simon lane?

  • Amazing voice - great song!

  • shut up guys. 10 octaves comment is just hyperbole i'm sure -___-

  • this octave crap interests me, how many octaves does mariah carey reach in her prime?

  • As I stated, I don't care much what the public thinks. I just listened to Pat Benatar's cover on youtube, and I do not feel that she nails this song either. Its own creator ought to have done so, but blew it. I thought Kate created a more fitting ambience, but this notion that Cathy's ghost would have sounded just like Minnie Mouse, is just plain wacky. Says who? Certainly not Emily.

  • All this bitching! Honestly! Kate Bush is a briliant ethereal lady wtih a voice that makes me sit up and take notice and this song is sublime- Loved seeing her in all her batty wonder on MOR shows like TOTP! Go Kate!

  • Lovely to hear an un-autotuned voice.

  • SHE'S INDEED A MULTITALENT ,ALSO A BEAUTIFULL WOMAN , I LOVE HER !

  • Time for a bit of honesty hear, Kate has a squeaky voice which might improve with some training, but maybe permanently useless. The song itself but is basically ridiculous, random, barely comprehensive. This is like a scrap book of ideas for a song cut and paste together. Needs alot more work.

  • @brunobaritono Agree her voice is a bit off in this live version. Have you read the book though? The song really only makes sense if you're familiar with the story. In that context it is perfect.

  • @susanita359 her voice is a bit off lol ? not many people can sing this gud just stood there , let alone playing piano at same time plus keep track of which camera to follow lol the woman is brilliant,

  • @brunobaritono I totally agree that Kate needs vocal coaching--10 octaves or whatever are no use if the upper registers sound this squeaky. But to dis the song itself when you evidently have never read "Wuthering Heights", well that is somewhere it is not advisable to go. The song lyrics are unquestionably evocative of many of the things Cathy Earnshaw said in the novel, or her ghost did, when it she was urging Mr. Lockwood to "Let me in at your window." I think you meant to say:

  • (the song lyrics are) barely comprehensible, as "barely comprehensive" makes no sense in that sentence. But there is nothing random OR cut-and-pasted as in a scrapbook, about the ideas, they all fit that gloomy and passionate, dark novel's very essence.

  • @fancifulfilly Perhaps you should listen to all of the different variety of Kate songs and her singing voice on them before saying she needs vocal coaching.

  • @ggarlick46 I have heard her singing other songs. I had the album "The Kick Inside" on vinyl. No, Kate does not sound this way on all the tracks, but that does not make up for the fact that her voice sounds squeaky on this one. She wrote a truly inspired song, and then ruined it. Sorry, but I cannot reconcile that voice to Cathy Earnshaw's character. Nor do I like her campy, over-the-top, caricature-like antics on the video , for the same reason. The novel is gloomy, gothic.

  • @ggarlick46 As I was saying, the song shared many traits with the novel, but the video was campy, sharply contrasting with the mood of the song. And, I maintain, that in this song, she wrote most of it in too high a register for her to avoid sounding squeaky. This is all a matter of taste, I grant you, but it is not to mine.

  • @fancifulfilly Well all I can say is you had the album "The Kick Inside" so you must have liked Kates early songs. As for ruining Wuthering Heights with her singing, you must be joking! A no 1 hit on her first ever single, and its been one of her classic songs ever since, and the one that no one else can imitate with any degree of success.

  • @ggarlick46 Afraid I am not...joking that is. But, before you let that get you wrapped around the axle, remember what the Romans said: "De gustibus non est disputandum." Obviously Kate has proven that she can sing, on other tracks. Obviously some people like even the squeaking. I just don't happen to be one of 'em. If she had passed on trying to sing like a coloratura, which she ain't, and stuck with her more dulcet tones, it would have been a happier outcome. In my OWN opinion.

  • @fancifulfilly Obviously you would be better with off with some dumb pat benatar version of it as well mate.

  • @ggarlick46 Obviously.

  • @fancifulfilly Thought so.

  • @fancifulfilly I have to comment on your point about the video being 'campy'. Wasn't that really the case for pretty much most of videos that came out in the late 70's and well into the mid-80's? What was portrayed on MTV was generally always something conjured up in the mind of the video's producer, rather than a lock-step reflectance on the song at hand. Yes, there were exceptions, but that was the norm for videos at the time.

  • @ralphyboy25 Most of the videos of that era WERE rather over-the-top, but nobody forced Kate to act all "hammy", and clownish. It just does not fit with the mood of the song. Unless, of course, I just am missing the point of the song, and this song really was intended to spoof the novel, rather than capture the mood of it. Hey, I don't care if everyone and his dog went out and bought the single; plenty of people bought Tiny Tim, too. The public's taste is nothing to me.

  • @fancifulfilly Ok.... now you having me laughing, thinking back to the ridiculousness of Tiny Tim. True camp for the time.

    Peace.

  • So, you remember ol' Tiny Tim? I never forgot him, but not because I liked his silly, campy, trilling, rather because he made me laugh. Lots!! About 30 years after he was popular, the discount store Ames had these Christmas-time commercials, featuring Scrooge and Tiny Tim, where the Tiny Tim was not a frail boy, but Tiny Tim the entertainer with a ukelele, trilling "Deck the Halls". It was so silly that every time I would see it, I would near ROTFLMAO.

  • @ralphyboy25, I don't know why youtube did not automatically address you at the beginning of my last reply, when I clicked "reply". I had to do this one manually..weird.

  • @fancifulfilly Yes who could forget Tiny Tim and Miss Vicki. I remember him as a regular on Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In.

  • @ggarlick46 Exactly my opinion. Her voice is unique and extraordinary. Full stop.

  • @TheAkelei Agreed!

  • @brunobaritono wat u talking about mate this song needs alot more work it was written and sung 35 years ago , and as for having a sqeaky voice kates one of the worlds greatest singer, song writers i highly doubt , infact i know she doest need voice training haha thats like saying pele cant play football or muhammad ali cant box .....
