  • LM AO@@@!!!! I be watching it......

  • What would we do if this happened now? I would depend on the One True Living GOD. I'm curious what others would do....would the gov. officials go underground or to Mars?

  • uh oh! Looks like I fell asleep & left archaic (alienic) comments last night+ Do I need to write more? free to ZZZXZZZZ- good sleep aid, non-narcotic!

  • people this version is not good - watch only 156min version!!!

  • haha take about getting blisters and callauses on your hand lol get a love glove perfect for the end of the worlds

  • The budget for this was twenty seven dollars......

  • The Germans get blamed for everything lol

  • this is what the global warming band of alarmist wankers and the UN want, depopulation of plant earth

  • diaria virus omg!

  • I'm still stuck on that weid guy yelling at the dead president... What the F was that about?

  • i like feces.

  • George Kennedy is in it how bad do you think this gets ?

  • weird. he gets down there, and at that moment the missiles launch? It even looks like he pushed the button by accident.

  • why are they not wearing a mask and a protective suit when going into washington dc?

  • how would they know there is an earthquake coming up? This movie has so many holes in it, it's like swiss cheese.

  • that's so stupid, they just set that earthquake up so they would have to go to washington through the viruses, to disarm the nuclear missiles.

they even say out loud : "YES THIS IS STUPID!" haha.

  • an earthquake is not gonna trigger a nuclear launch. a lot of stuff about this movie is weird made up stuff.

  • why isn't anybody wearing a protective suit with a mask and stuff?

  • 8:30 - he has a very good point. a lot of special secret projects are compartmentalized, like he said.

  • FEMA COFFINS...FEMA TRAINS?

  • This January 2012, United States researchers under funding from the NIH and possibly the Pentagon announced the creation of a new more lethal and contagious strain of N5H1 bird flu. The Obama Admin. requested they keep their discovery secret.

The Bush 2 Admin. succeeded in recreating the DNA of the 1918 Spanish Flu. And no one gets smallpox vaccinations anymore unless they are first responders or military (or rich presumably) while stockpiles of viable smallpox remain at Fort Detrick Maryland.

  • That is one heck of a STUPID movie

  • @TheReineer1 I agree. a lot of things are not well thought out, and they are sloppy.

  • George Kennedy!!

  • small groups of people will be able to live through the whole thing.

  • that is one positive thing to think about. All the stupid people will all go out to protest and spread the virus much faster and if your smart you could stay far away from other people for lonng enough for it to run its course and die out.Without a live host a virus dies in time

  • Isn't ironic how "Sci-Fi" films subconsciously expose so many Hidden Factual "TRUTHS?" Will the "Intelligent(?)" Human Race ever Wake-Up and start to join the dots and Question just WHO'S Stealthily Orchestrating this well documented "New World (Enslaving) Order?" I watched another brilliant film; "They Live!" and although I do not believe in the "Alien" implication, I do now know Who is behind this outrageously Insane NWO plan. wake-upbeforeitstoolate(dot)com puts this Deceptive jigsaw together

  • Here's the figures. Runtime: 156 minutes. USA runtime: 108 minutes. This one: 113 min, factory in credits, etc. I'll pass until someone uploads the real deal. I'm a bitch but I'm tired of this chopped shit. Oh, and Netflix has it as a "Save" title, meaning it'll apparently be available in the future, but how much you wanna bet it'll be the 108-min version? They have a piss-poor record when it comes to full versions of movies -- "Bird With the Crystal Plumage" and "The Harrad Experiment", anyone?

  • @ragemanchoo82 It is already there in full uncat 2Hr 36 minutes (and 14 seconds). Type in Virus - Resurrection Day.

  • Everyone that's talking about the us no we would not do anything like this and no we didn't hire nazi scientist in ww2

  • @termn8tr1 lol no it was after ww2 yes we did lots

  • @termn8tr1 i ment we hired and move scientist not did bad movies like this we, did bad movies with tomatos and zombies

  • In the version that I have he goes back to her and the few survivors and tells her "Life is wonderful" or something of the sort. It is a great movie, and I think I got the 'American' version, for what I have read, still, it is one of the best movies around, and if you like this kind of movies, I highly recommend "The Day After" which is as good as this one. :o)

  • At 1:22;28 Marit looks like the woman in the Maddox Brown painting, "The Last of England"

  • ''jesus christ, he bite me.''

  • QUE PELÍCULA DE MIERDA NO ENTENDÍ NI UN CULO LLENO DE GRANOS

  • someone know who is the name of that movie in spanish?¿?¿'¡ please

  • I like it.....

  • How likely is it that such a virus would be created and wipe out the world's population? Would the US military really be willing to cover up such an incident?

  • @cmciaranmasterson One of the benefits of wiping out the world's population is that you don't have to cover it up.

  • @DagobahDave What I meant was: If a virus created by the US military was accidentally released, would the officers involved let millions of people die rather than allow for counter-measures, i.e. quarantine, vaccine research, to take place?

  • @cmciaranmasterson stephen king used the same idea in the stand. i suppose that era of paranoia they'd be indoctrinated to protect the secret right till theend or more likely if they admitted to it they would give ground to the reds.

  • The Terminator series.

  • Why anyone would want to watch a movie in which the population of the world is wiped out, I honestly don't understand.

  • @cmciaranmasterson Let me answer you with a question..What is your favourite Sci-fi movie?

  • @angie4josh

The Terminator films and Blade Runner are my favourite sci-fi movies. The idea that an officer of the US military would cover up the accidental release of a deadly virus scares the hell out of me.

  • Check the Chilean character playing a creepy piano version of a traditional tune at 1:43:04 -so weird!

  • olivia hussey is such a babe

  • WOW- what a train wreck! I couldn't stop watching this drivel..

  • Boooo! I thought this was going to be the US version of Hell of the Living Dead. Booooo!

  • güzel kanal yapmışsın piç

  • Okay now that i see who is in it this was a glenn ford film also known as Day of the ressurection, it was made in the country of Japan there were quite a few known names in this movie Oliva Hussey, Chuck Connors, Henry Silva, Robert Vaughn, Sonny Chiba, In 2006 they officialy released this film in the staes on dvd and it runs 155 minutes. The 108 minute version is the cut version .

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU WATCHED FROM START TO FINISH WITHOUT SKIPPING!

  • @err0r Thumbs up if you thumbed up that comment but did not watch form start to finish without skipping.

  • @GerryRandomStuff Thumbs up if you knew I left that comment in an attempt for thumbs up and didn't really watch this movie start to finish.

  • So am I supposed to believe that if ALL the females had died, the men would suddenly drop dead due to lack of sex? How hysterically sexist this is!!!

  • @multuminparvo5 If all females died, there would no procreation. MAN would die out. That's what they meant.

  • @senosab My point was that they wouldn't INSTANTLY fall down dead without sex.

The living females have one womb apiece, typically one egg can be fertilized monthly, no matter how many men she procreates with. She wouldn't need to procreate with more than one man unless he proved sterile. It's the same number of babies in the end either way, so there's no true need to abandon monogamy if the female doesn't want to.

  • @multuminparvo5 only once every 8 months can a female human give birth, isn't that right?

  • @multuminparvo5 they would drop like flies.

  • @multuminparvo5 If all females died on earth, then yes all the men would die at their lifespans, leaving no humans left. You see some other method of reproduction?

  • @multuminparvo5 LOL! they drop dead spiritually Just like in the Bible, If Adam ate from the forbidden tree he was supposed to die, If he was dead as promised none of us would have been here in the first place. So to get around this logical fallacy, we have to interpret this as "SPIRITUAL DEATH."

So, there you go, without females men would be dead spiritually ... problem solves. However for you the road to Colleseum as a lion feed is ahead, don't forget to bring your cross.

  • @multuminparvo5 They'd find something to have sex with...lol

  • This film was a box office bomb back in the days

  • Interesting movie to say the least. I found it odd that Chuck Connors character "Captain McCloud," a British naval officer spoke with an American accent. Could it have been an oversight on the production team or doing a British accent was to hard for Mr. Connors?

  • @vihugaal He's Canadian...

  • I love this movie, have it on DVD..

  • the whole world gets nuked....nice ending,I think...

  • According to IMDB, this movie is supposed to be 156 minutes long.

  • Whoever made the video description is a fucking idiot faggot dickshit

  • This version is crap, the full uncut version is far better.

  • @TonuMike Well...try and suppress hunger with reason...doesn't seem to work for me..

  • Very good film. I have never seen it. I am happy I ran into it here on utube.

Can someone post the other one?

  • The Japanese version of this film is longer.Yoshizumi comes back on foot to antarctica. and see Marit agai. This version is too sad, I am sorry to say.

  • This is the wrong version of the film (the shit one apparently).

The footage at the begining is from the end of the film where the guy called Yoshizumi walks back to Antarctica. This version of the film was what they made after hacking it up in to a T.V movie , its all on Wikipidia...

Anyone know if theres an upload of the proper version?

  • @TheDreamClaw I laughed when you said "It's all in Wikipedia..."

  • I'm totally confused , are there two versions of this film , a U.S one and a Japanese one ? I'm trying to find the one based on the novel written by Sakyo Komatsu.

  • This film is a true hidden gem. I found this movie by accident here on YouTube and Wow. I just can’t believe I have never seen or even heard about this movie before. I give it a solid 8 out of 10.

  • Why would you show a thumbnail of the main character walking back to South America and then cut that part of the movie off???? You need that ending for the movie to be what it was meant to be!

  • original title / Fukkatsu-no-hi (the resurrection day)

    Japanese version ending

    The human race annihilated again.

    and A few years later.

  • ok so what idiot locks an extremely deadly virus in a glass container at 5:42?

  • This movie felt so real that I forgot that I was on youtube. Never thought I'd be so glad to see screen names in my life. How's everyone?

  • @OilofPuppies969 I'm ok I haven't caught influenza. How are you? I'm not a racist. I said that because some simpleton called me a racist.

  • @TonuMike prosper and...?

  • This is the shortened American version. The Japan version was over 2.5 hours: here is the full link:

    ww.archive.org/download/VirusFukkatsuNoHi1980/Virus_Fukkatsu_no_hi.mp4

  • Wait does this have zombies in it.....

  • If a virus is used on humanity it will at the hands of the elite for population control. I'm surprised that they haven't already used it.

  • @TonuMike oh you vulcans....

  • This is a good movie, I was surprised at how much I liked it.

  • @TonuMike they can... but people don't accept this because its a get out of jail free card

  • After this penguins evolved to rule the Earth.

  • 13:52 "you gave me a god damn plusebo!!" i'd be pissed too.

  • I just love it @56: the guy drinks out of a kettle without scalding his mouth!

  • @ERIK000000000 Chuck Connors?

  • Very good thank you. 9 out of 10.

  • Well the movie was long winded Can you imagine if it was 8 girls and only two guys left on earth? Would quickly turn into 8 girls and 1 guy left...rofl Thank you for the up!

  • FUCK WHOEVER DECIDED TO CUT OUT THE HAPPY ENDING THE ORIGINAL VERSION HAD FOR THIS AMERICAN VERSION

    FUCK EM

  • @movieartman I hate happy endings, there is nothing better when the hero of the movie dies in the last 5 minutes

  • @movieartman I couldn't agree more.

  • EVREYONE DO NOT WATCH THIS VERSION SEE THE ORIGINAL UNEDTIDED VERSION THAT DOES NOT HAVE A HORRIBLE DIPRESSING ENDING

  • Dear Edward James Olmos, I watched this dumb movie.

    It was terri-horrib-awful.

  • @DanSkolnik

  • Comment removed

  • This is the worst movie I've seen *since* 1980.

  • the stupidity of world governments....the retardation of mankind.

  • yes bery well

  • Hollywood

  • kkk manos muito loco video portugues lembrando eu so um cat e um brasileiro :)

  • I think the one major actor that everyone didn't recognize in this movie is Edward James Olmos, He is the long haired Captain Lopez.

  • wait, is this video seriously 1 hour and 43 min long?

  • @Srgtanonymous It's a movie man. If it were much shorter, it wouldn't be.

  • @Srgtanonymous it shouldn't be...and you're not watching the definitive version of it.

  • @Srgtanonymous yeah its an especial member

  • problem with the japanese part, they wear surgical masks all the time in the winter. where were the masks?

  • Did they write chuck norris in the ending text?

  • @ZoLiDoXz No...........Chuck "Connors" who played Lucas McCain in the 1958-63 TV series, "The Rifleman".

  • Why is it that when someone is speaking in a language other than English there is no subtitling?

Without it there is no point for them to speak if you can't understand what they are saying, It completely takes away from the whole story line of the movie.

  • @TotalMusicJunkie The translators died from the plague. Sorry.

  • @Trondesson

    LOL!!!!

    Good One!

  • damn that movie was kinda scary...

  • /watch?v=8Co5lmjIxAM&feature=player_embedded full Japanese version

  • Strange movie... The Soviets must attack Antarctica just for the heck of it, if attacked; a General can launch the US nuclear arsenal from a small room in Washington; After some months, the heroes miss saving the launch in Washington by a few minutes because of an earthquake. Women are put on a boat to go somewhere safe, in case the world blows up; Oh yes, there's something about a virus... Strange Movie

  • @CH3CH2OH4U You're right, it is strange. But it follows the general American movie plot after all.

  • ͉͇͇͇͇͇͇͇͇͇͈͉͍̈́̈́͊͊͊͊͊͋͋͋͌ͣͤ͜͜͜͟͢͝͞͠͡V͠iR͠uS͠͠͠͠͠

  • Where can I watch the full japanese version?

  • @bbenjoe

    watch?v=xSdHkVuOJQY&feature=related

  • at the end when it said CHUCK CONNORS in huge letters i thought it said chuck norris :D

  • I hope that the movie stays fiction.

  • I hope the scenario stays fiction.

  • In an environment like that, a genetics database would be the priority. Parentage would have to be 100% accurately known so interbreeding did not foul the gene pool. Breeding would have to be scientifically managed.

Remember these 800+ men, 8 women and 8 children are the total human race. For the race to continue without genetic contamination, selective breeding should have been made the highest priority, not every mans right to a vagina.

  • @TonuMike If this were real, the women and children are the most valuable asset they have, and they would have to be protected with armed force if necessary. Child rape would become rampant without protection of the children, The most pressing issue is genetics. At the end of the movie there were 8 children, with no way of knowing who the fathers are. If indiscriminate sex continued, in 3 or four generations, most of the population would be retarded via interbreeding with close relatives.

  • @TonuMike For so many reasons. The attitude that every man has the right to access a vagina would destroy the tiny new society. With a ratio of 1 woman to 100+ men, the women should not be expected to service 100 men each just so men can have those rights, which do not exist any more anyway. Look at China now, homosexuality has sky rocketed, because basically men just want to stick their dick somewhere, anywhere, they don't care where, so homosexuality is the answer.

  • The nuclear attacks around the globe should have killed off the virus.

Providing the people on the ice breaker can last at least a 2 years, and they should by eating fish and visiting previously unpopulated islands and atolls; they should then be able to land somewhere and start over.

(They should have advocated and promoted homosexuality as a lifestyle choice. Those poor women!)

  • It would have been a better movie if the US spies had been caught.

  • Para ser sincero, la primer película que veo en youtube!!!!

Alguien que me recomiende alguna película buena?

  • Comment removed

  • Hey, this version ends like The Beneath the Planet of the Apes movie.

I saw this on an earlier American language version on the Movie Channel during the early 1980s when Yoshime went on a survival trip to finally find Olivia Hussey

The original Japanese version have Yoshime going on a lot longer trek to find her..

  • good u.s-japanese collaboration with Glenn Ford, Bo Svenson and a brief appearance by Ken Ogata. nice music at the end, too. Good upload!!

  • 40.56 to 41.00, the dramatic standing up to reveal a genitally dangerously high waistband = comedy gold

  • how do you skip the stupid ads again?

  • @mattybrass alt + f4

  • @XxSniperTeamBxX lol i already know of that trick :P

  • @mattybrass ok bro lol youtube fixed it you cant skip em

  • @XxSniperTeamBxX damit :{}

  • Oh... Jesus. Talk about the bleakest ending. I thought this was a cheesy zombie movie but it turned out to be a serious apocalyptic political drama.

  • @wandererlain ...the characteristics of the mimic is real science. They have used this scenario to create AIDS.

  • @SuperOmnicron This film does seem based in real science. Are you saying this film was about AIDS as a man-made laboratory disease? If so, well ahead of its time.

  • Did they just use extras for the members of Mirny Station who did not speak in the movie?

  • Hey hey, The Man From U.N,C.L.E....first time I've seen him outside that series!

  • @MsCourtneybrown Robert Vaughn starred in numerous films.

  • wait, this isn't THE US version - the public domain one I had before on DVD (before trading it in for the definitive Sonny Chiba action pack version) was heavily abbreviated but had the original ending with the children on the beach. This ending is just plain silly.
