My cousin has a highly modded '07 Maxima(H-O Tuned w/ Apex-FCi piggy backed, Reflash, Full exhaust Nismo susp. & brakes etc.) and it just breaks high 13's @ 100+. A STOCK Speed3 does this w/ ease. first off, the maximas are just BARELY over 3000lbs, you added 500lbs and also depending on the motor, the hp varies greatly, who said that maxi didnt have the VQ35DE, thats 290hp, and i know stock mazda 3s dont run 13s with ease, even civic rice can tell you mazdas (although bad ass cars) are not that fast, the 07s break 14.4sec stock. and also, even if the maxi BARELY won, cuz slicks and spray, how do we know the mazda doesnt have slicks?? we dont know what either of them have under the hood.

wow your really wrong about a maxima being a 15 or 16 second car. most of the ones i see are low 15s high 14s. you know that their is alot more to a race than power to weight! you have to add in torque which is huge and gearing, tires, etc. power to weight does play a big part but there are so many other things that play a part too! 1990-2001 maximas have the 3.0 motor in them, they should run 15's at the slowest depending on driver. 2002-2003 auto runs high to mid 14's stock. 6spd runs low 14's stock.

LOL u removed the plenum to change the plugs on a 3.0? U dont have to do that, there are slots in the plenum where the coilpacks stick up from. all u have to do is get an extension unscrew the bolts holding the coil back down pop it out then u can see straight down to the plugs. i own one and have change the spark plugs twice. And 00-01 maximas made 227hp, VQ30DE-K, the normal VQ30DEs make 190hp. And alot of these cars run the times they are suppose to when they are driven correctly.

you're wrong th VQ30DE your talking about was from 95-99. They improved it for 2000 for it to produce 227hp. the VQ30DE-K for that generation produced 255hp from 2003-2007.

The VQ35 was used from 2002 in the Maximas. and 2000-2006 was not a generation - From 2000 to 2003 They made the '5th' generation. From 2004 to 2008 they made the "6th" generation.

I was wondering the same thing. Why would you remove the plenum to replace the plugs?? And also, by your logic, a Dodge Charger SE with a 3.5 should have no trouble beating a 4th Gen 5spd Maxima, considering the Charger has around 250hp. Ever seen them go at it? The Max kills it. It's not all about horsepower. It has a lot to do with what rpms the engine reaches certain HP, and what the torque ratings are throughout the rpm range.

I didn't say replace the plugs in a Maxima. I meant in general. Like a Mitsubishi 6G72 3.0 V6. My logic? A Charger weighs 3800+ lbs. and only comes in a 4spd Auto.. So, duh, a Maxi will kill it. Try a Dodge Avenger R/T 3.5 w/ a 6 spd Auto-Stick and you'll have your hands full.

Avenger R/T does 0-60 in over 7 seconds, which really isn't impressive for what is supposed to be a competitive V6. And the 3.5 Charger comes with a 5spd auto. The 2.7 comes with a 4 spd. The entire Chrysler V6 lineup is sorry as hell. By the way, Charger weighs 3600lbs. Not 3800.

By the way... Look up Car & Driver's test run of the 92 Maxima SE. 0-60 in 6.7 seconds, 1/4 mile in 15.3 seconds. That was a C&D test with a stock car. As I said, with very few mods, you can easily get into the 14s. It's not all about HP. And again, I own a 3rd gen SE. They're pretty quick.

most 6spd VQ35 5th gens run low 14s and the 4th and 3rd gens weigh between 2900-3100 depending on the trim level. But i doubt a 3rd gen is going to run anything faster than 15s without mods. quite a few stock 4th gens have run high 14s.
