Dear weirdoyap, as a pensioned KLM-captain I've done this approach many times much to my pleasure! But.... civil aviation isn't all fun, but starts with proper planning, lots of skilltraining and experience. Landing a 747 from such an unstable approach, too high will almost certainly end in disaster. Lineflying is the subtle combination of planning, skill and total consideration with your environment and the plane full of passengers and crew.

Exciting and dangerous and absolutely impossible :-( KLM has enough bad history with 747s without this to add to it. At least put "sim" or "animation" in there to spare people. BTW he/she "landing" this 747 -- even if it were out of fuel, had 30 parachutes per wing, and was landing in 6ft of honey -- couldn't do it that fast. It's OK to have fun and make this I'm not trying to be a complete jerk, just saying.. it's a nice, clean animation I'll give you that..

Mate nice try but to pass a check, the pilot's aim point must be held steady at the 1500ft markers ( the third set of white bars in from the threshold) which will aim the main gear at the 1000ft markers. At around 25 to 30 ft radio altitude, (gear from ground not pilot), the aircraft is flared....no earlier or you'll float it and run off the runway. You must have the main gear down by 2000ft markers to be considered a 'normal landing". Use glideslope down to the 30ft flare ht to stay in slot

To all of you who are criticizing him:

1. This was his second week of FSX. I'm in my second year and I still can't land a 747, especially not in a crosswind.

2. While the approach was high and he landed late, he had a high rate of descent because his speed was lower so that he could stop in time. He flared a lot, so made the touchdown a bit more realistic, but the gear might have collapsed in real life.

3. It's the FSX default 747. Cessna154 can land it on a 400m dirt strip. It's a fail.

A 747 can do on half this runway if really needed... The brakes are so powerful it manages that very nicely! It use half the runway for takeoff when flying to Curacao! Good landing man! :)
