Yes, with Boot camp you can install windows and then use your mac as if it was a "PC".
Instead of Boot Camp, you can also use a software called "Parallels". I'm using that, and I'm running windows within OS X. That's really, cause then you don't need to boot and choose OS. You simply just start up your mac, and then start windows within OS, And close it when u are done.
A bit slower than boot camp thought, but still a very cool solution.

I don't see why this is so special. It's cool that a Mac can now dual boot into Windows and play games, but, since the games are still being played in Windows, it's defeating the purpose of using a Mac to begin with.
Most Mac users buy macs for the OS, I prefer OSX over windows xp any day. I also like the actual hardware, its a very elegant looking machine, made of high quality parts.

Since Half-Life is being played in Windows in this video, the user is not using the Mac OS. I think, the newer games are overrated and not that deep in terms of graphics, but new games also run really well on a mac!

Actually, the Apple Mac is the only TRUE computer. WYSIWYG; The desktop IS the motherboard. No Disk Operating System needed, unless you plan on running both platforms. What really sucks is that Steve Jobs was too busy doing blotter acid and scmooking dirt weed back in the 70s while Bill was opening the floodgates of technology with IBMs fickle DOS format which would never fly with the rest of Non-nerd human-kind, so he sandwiched
a layer of code over it to make it taste like a Big Mac. FUUUUK!

I don't see why this is so special. It's cool that a Mac can now dual boot into Windows and play games, but, since the games are still being played in Windows, it's defeating the purpose of using a Mac to begin with.

Most Mac users buy macs for the OS, I prefer OSX over windows xp any day. I also like the actual hardware, its a very elegant looking machine, made of high quality parts.

And it isn't apple's fault most PC games don't configure their software for OS x, though, more and more PC games are realizing the big market-share they're losing by not having mac-compatible versions of their games, so they're evolving. The 3rd gen spawn of the most purchased PC game in the world certainly has (sims 3).

Melanie, I believe you misinterpreted my comment. I said that most Mac users enjoy using Macs because of the operating system. Since Half-Life is being played in Windows in this video, the user is not using the Mac OS. Thus, it defeats the purpose of using the Mac to begin with since the original purpose was to use the Mac OS instead of Windows.

Ppl don't opt for macs for the "purpose" of gaming on a mac, they choose them for their speed and many many capabilities. Comp games are just one aspect of SOME mac users' usage so hardly defeats the purpose of having a mac. And since BC's release, the ironic fact that Windows runs smoother and faster on a mac has been pretty well established.

Okay, let me rephrase it for you. It's ironic that the Mac user has to use Windows to play the game since they most likely bought the Mac to avoid using Windows. I understand that most people don't buy Macs to play games. I agree that Macs can be fast, but Windows machines can be fast, too. I've used slow Macs, and I've used slow Windows machines. It depends on the hardware and software management in the end. I had a 5-year-old PC that I built that would boot to desktop in XP Home in 25 seconds.

They choose mac because they prefer the OS for all it's features; isight, imovie, ichat, iphoto, garageband, spaces, keynote, time machine, interface aesthetic, lack of viruses, smoother/faster running OS... I know people buy Macs for the OS and software. Since they specifically chose a Mac for that reason, it's ironic that they end up using Windows. It's ironic because they don't get to use the OS they chose. What I'm getting at is, if the user bought the Mac knowing they would be gaming, it's ironic that they don't get to use the Mac OS.

That is WINDOWS, it's just running on a apple manufactured computer, and has nothing to do with their sucky OS.
What they don't tell you is apple takes credit for the windows feature, being able to run on any computer, and turns it around saying "We can run anything" (however not even linux), and gives it a fancy name called Boot Camp.
Besides, it sucks to have to reboot your computer just to play something when on windows you could just double-click
