If you really want to learn about iran in a quick hour from a ddocumentary watch Rageh Omar Inside Iran (2007). Though it is a bit dated on a political level due to the elections, it is still a much better in depth look into iranian society and culture. I was really disappointed by this documentary, I was hoping for more.
This documentary was REALLY off topic, it had an interesting introdcuction but the rest was not information that could really help familiarize a person with iranian society. sure there were some intersting parts like with the basketball player, the Jews, and such but I really did not like the organization or the depth of this documentary at all. If you really want to learn about iran in a quick hour from a ddocumentary watch Rageh Omar Inside Iran (2007). Though it is a bit dated on a political level due to the elections, it is still a much better in depth look into iranian society and culture. I was really disappointed by this documentary, I was hoping for more.

This documentary was REALLY off topic, it had an interesting introdcuction but the rest was not information that could really help familiarize a person with iranian society. sure there were some intersting parts like with the basketball player, the Jews, and such but I really did not like the organization or the depth of this documentary at all. Was it really the best way to end the documentary with caviar?

As an Iranian living in Iran for the past 22 years, this is the least accurate documentary I have seen about Iran. He only goes and talks with state-related people. He does not show the realities of what is happening here. People do not have these beards, women do not want to wear the veil, none supports the regime. Saying that Iran is a democracy is a real insult for all of the Iranian people who have been victims of this regime & its repression and who all depressed because it's still here.

The film is inaccurate in saying that Iran give's religious freedom to minorities. The Baha'i Faith is the largest minority religion in Iran and it has no freedom whatsoever. It's leaders have been arrested, it's open university shut down, it's youth prevented from accessing university, etc. etc. The film insists that Iran is some kind of democracy. A more accurate label would be dictatorship by a clerical elite. I lived for several months in Iran and know Iranians, so I know what it's like.

National geography did a pretty fair job about Iran.Some people have no idea about Iran and its people , and they mix Iran with Arabs countries or Pakistan and Afghanistan.Diego could go Shiraz and Isfahan too. but he captured some places which may not be seen by normal tourists.

@laurayounai lol. And they say that all religious minorities are represented in Parliament? uh.... wrong. There are over 350,000 Baha'is in Iran (more than the number of Christians and Jews), who have no representation whatsoever. They can't even go to university and are constantly being harassed. Their leaders are currently in prison and the underground open university which they set up to educate their youth was just shut down a few days ago, with teachers being arrested.

That's because Bahaism is not a religion! It is a heretical fabrication that started off by taking advantage of the Shia belief in the twelfth Imam. All religions of the book are recognized and represented in the Parliment in Iran. Bahais have changed all the basic tenets of islam including the belief in the holy Quran, the Mecca as the center of worship for Muslims, daily prayers, fasting, etc. and have made a whole new religion. that is why they are not considered a "real" religion.

It is the second most widespread religion on the planet, after Christianity, and currently has over 5 million adherents of every creed, nation and background. It promotes world peace, the equality of men and women, independent investigation of the truth and justice. It is a pure and holy teaching and its followers are devoted servants of humanity.

@HOSSEINAZARI1 By your definition, Christianity is not a real religion because the Torah was set down as the final law of God. The Messiah was supposed to be a King who ruled on a throne. Jesus was nothing of the sort. He was a humble Messenger of God. By your definition, Islam is not a religion, because Islam changed the place of worship from Jerusalem to Mecca. Jews believe Moses is the great Prophet. Christians believe no one will come after Jesus. Muslims believe no one comes after Muhammad.

@HOSSEINAZARI1 If you say the Baha'i Faith isn't a religion, you have to admit that Islam is not a religion. Since you can't do that, you have to admit that the Baha'i Faith is a religion. Any proof you use against the Baha'i Faith would disprove Islam, Judaism and Christianity. However, all the proofs of these religions are the same and they rest on the same spiritual foundation.

The clerics have blinded their peoples in every age and always oppose God's teachings. If you read the Kitab-i-Iqan and investigate the Baha'i teachings for yourself, you will realise that all your objections have been dealt with.
