  • 1:56 EVERYBODY SOLO

  • @aquaboy386 Lol why did that make me laugh so hard? XD

  • The audience looks like a bunch of ska kids with no room to skank.

  • That stage isn't big enough to hold that much awesome.

  • What I like best about this video is the notes - ALL OF THEM - and how they're strung together magnificently!

  • ok now i see, its the same concert but 2 diff videos.

  • At 1:33 seconds when the camera goes to the crowed dancing, theres is a kid with a luigi shirt on, he is also in another video with victor wooten playing the amazing grace solo.

  • As a white person, I must say we are a strange creature to watch dance.

  • Is this the Cantina band?

  • i thought they were going to play au privave when they first started playing :S

  • a lot of dudes dancin together LOL its very funny

  • Love that sax squeal at 1.55

  • The audience nerds .... Lol

  • It's Collin Mochary playing soprano sax!

  • basson>the

  • Lead Bassoon!

  • @bbbobbbieo Thanks for getting the name of the instrument right! Thanks!

  • Lead Oboe!

  • If I'm not mistaken, this was a Benny Goodman tune :)

  • Where can I get that DVD? The album on Amazon is from a different date, and doesn't have that track? Different shows...

  • @pmartin2432 this is a bonus track on the dvd, and maybe one did the recording date, or release date

  • and bass that's a cross between Stanley clarke and jaco very nice vic

  • How many Bassoonists do you see with an effects pedalboard in front of them? Awesome doesn't begin to describe these guys.

  • THEY ARE SIMPLE MARAVILLOSOS, ,

  • THEY ARE SIMPLE MARAVILLOSOS, IS VERRY DIFICULTY FOUND SOMTHING , LIKE HIM, SORRY FOR MY FILLING, OK

  • the public clumsy

  • If anyone had ever told me before that a banjo, a bassoon, a steel drum, a pair of saxes and a weird drum machine can sound this good together...

  • 0:49! Vic

  • i love the dancers who have no rythm at 1:29!!

    lol

  • So we have a band consisting of: Steeldrums, bass, banjo, bassoon, tenor and sopranino saxes, and drumitar, playing 12-bar blues with a country/bluegrass feel and that's not even the weirdest part......it's the bassoonist playing through a guitar multi-effect pedal, wow.

  • For all their virtuosity and creativity they still sound like the goddamn Star Wars cantina band.

  • @woutertron HAHAHA!!

  • hahahahaha!

    i laughed!

  • Damn white people cant dance..

    OTHER THAN THAT

The music was orgasmical (just made that word up)

  • usually I 'd say it sucks if the rhythm group was silent, but in this case it's just awesome

  • Mediocre ,pretentious musicians

  • @Tengocuentadeyoutub mediocre pretentious comment.

  • That's weird, I have the DVD of Live at the Quick, but this song isn't on it. Totally awesome though.

  • Whole orchestra does not sound hawkish nor agressive at all, Peaceful harmony with joyous melody...

  • Best band ever.

    THAT is music.

    THAT is art.

  • I love how the sopranino is the only one with a stand.

  • Comment removed

  • The audience isn't dancing; they are grooving. And there damn sure isn't anything wrong with that!!

  • is that a five string fretless Wooten is playing?

  • @TheUkuleleAddict uhm, yes?xD as u may see durin' the first minute of the vid ;) ^^

  • @TheUkuleleAddict yep. i know someone with one haha... it's pretty awesome

  • I'm loving it!

  • Absolutely Incredible!

  • Incredible. The Star Wars Cantina band should watch this.

  • @slogans777 I bet they do every day

  • lol! @ 2.03 XD

do any of the audience possess the ability to dance?

  • @doingping

True... at least they have great taste in music.

  • @lokir indeed they do :)

  • COOOOLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • a bassoon playing jazz? That gotta be new

  • Im seeing them today...

    Fuckin stoked

  • @SexualStrings LUCKY BASTARD!!! =D

  • I can't decide which part of this video I love more:

-That the audience sucks at dancing,

-That the bassoonist is a serious motherfucker, or

-That I've heard Jeff Coffin play higher than that sopranino on his tenor.

    The Flecktones rock.

  • Or Victor Wooten just being Victor Wooten. :O

  • the comment about the dancers = hillarius

  • @fiddlercrab3

    i think it's jeff coffin..but it's pretty close to the "dancers" :D

  • a lot of dudes dancin together LOL its very funny

  • @fiddlercrab3 you missed out Jeff Coffin's beard... it's actually even more impressive in real life

  • @fiddlercrab3 Gotta love the bassoon. What a bad MOFO!

  • @fiddlercrab3 How would you dance to it?

  • @fiddlercrab3 I don't know what I like most about this post.

    - the Jeff Coffin comment

    - or hearing any bassoonist referred to as a 'serious motherfucker'

    lol :]

  • @fiddlercrab3 I guess what i love the most is that in this song they sound kinda like the star wars cantina band, but way better!

  • @cctsb except it's a blues...

  • @fiddlercrab3 audience, definitely

  • Are you dumb, that is so a soprano sax, why don't you think it is?

  • It's actually a sopranino; that is too small to be a soprano saxophone.

  • Sopranino mate.

  • im not sure how they found that song i think its origanal but if its not plez could some one put up the sheet music for trebal cleff plezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

  • mnnnnnnnnnmmmmmmmm luv bela not like a gay way but lisning to his stuff makes me think about about me playing on stage witch feels good

  • At 2:03...it has been fully proven why White People just shouldn't dance...LOL!!!!!! Amazing song as always from the most talented band in the land!

  • i just couldn't belive they were actully dancing, somehow looked like zombies on e to me, was horrible either way.

Amazing song though and an amazing preformance!

  • @askallt ROFL they did look like zombies i just read this comment as i watched them dance absolutley hilarious

  • What is that guy in the purple shirt playing, it ain't a soprano sax!

  • Its most likely a sopranino sax, but there is a Eb, Bb, and C version, and they are all slightly different sizes, so I'm not sure which one exactly it is.

  • actually it is!! Its a C soprano rather than the Bb soprano

  • oh yes it is, what makes you think it isn't?

  • Lil Dixieland there, nice

  • This is post-Dixieland stuff; it's swing. This is a number that the Benny Goodman Sextet recorded during the short period that guitarist Charlie Christian was part of the group.

  • Wooten's sound in the solo is making my day, every day ;)

  • Se huele New Orleans, No?

    Que groso que es Bela

Recomiendo Three over the cuckoo's nest

    Un disco del carajo

  • Is Victor playing a Warwick bass?

  • no he's playing fretless Fodera..

  • oh.. yes thank you :)

  • Actually, it's a custom thing from his deceased friend, Joe Compito

  • jazz festipop d'enfer

  • first of all, bassoon solo. oh man. i have never seen someone who can even sort of improvise on the bassoon. second of all, ANDY NARELL! anyone who likes this band, search his name. he is the guy playing the double second steel drum on the side there that you see once or twice. man. absolutely amazing composer.

  • Woodwinds on this song are insane!

  • Lol at 1:31. Super white people dancing

  • New Orleans brass band music played by anything but a brass band. Man these guys are good.

  • holy shit! this is super groovy!

  • i greatly envy that bassoon playing!

  • those people tryin 2 dance to this is so funny!!! :{P

    flecktones = SICK

  • whoa...this wasn't on the album!

  • i tell you what would be cool. if these guys played the cantini band song. that would rock.

  • demaciado cool... i love a los flecktones

  • This was fun to watch! Paul Hanson's rockin' that bassoon!

  • doesnt he always? lol!

  • excelenteee

  • this is real music, this is expressing yourself with an instrument, this is ART! have seen them two times in Argentina, and so far have been the best two concerts ever. simply amazing.

  • Couldn't agree more!

It's actually not my kind of music but you have to be deaf if you can't feel the unique groove of this music.

  • wow a jazz bassoon solo...thats pretty intense

  • damn vic sounds really good on fretless

  • thisi is how you properly solo over 12 bar blues lol! i'm taking notes!

  • the audience has some...interesting...dance moves lol! I guess the flecktones just do that to people lol!

  • That's the Hippie Dance!

  • IMPRESIONANTE

la musicalidad, no solo el virtuosismo...

  • what genre would you say these guys are?

  • mix between jazz and bluegrass

  • and funk

  • and by those powers combined you get jazz fusion in general. thats what they are.

  • they have no label. they are musicians who create music, and as far as anyone is concerned, they can perform just about any genre out there with insane virtuosity

  • You couldn't say it in a better way, saxxytenor01. I totally agree.

  • I like that, no label, just musicians. It's nothing short of amazing is what it is! Can't ask for or find anything better.

  • blubop

  • Finally, Thanks for posting this

    -Dastump

  • I think it's the strings vs. the wind instruments.

  • I can definitely sense the different family characters in action at the breakfast table... =D
