This was so helpful! I always hear these words pronounced in so many different ways, but I never trusted anyone on the pronunciation because they weren't French.
thanks.. your videos are very helpful.. let me return the favour.. u pronounced proNUNciation wrongly.. it's pro-nun-ciation.. not pronounciation.. FYI (:
Why oh why do I hear a lot of H in every or some of the syllables???? Can you like make a video of how to pronounce these things the right way in an AMERICAN accent?
Tu as une super idée, effectivement, car tout comme toi, je suis française, et cela me fait soit sourire (quand c'est mignon), soit cela m'agace, quand j'entends certaines Youtubeuses écorcher les marques françaises ...
Mais bon, je pense bien que notre langue doit être difficile à appréhender pour un public anglo-saxon.
En tout cas, merci pour elles, je vais passer le lien à certaines.
thank you so much for your help, i have a presentation about one of the ysl product, and i am depress to pronounce it,this video was helpful, thank youu :)
Excellent video! You are so cute! Maybe you can show hw to pronounce " Le Metier de Beaute"... LisaLisaD1 cracks me up, so cute how she tries to say it, she ends up saying LE MAYTAY DE BOTAY.
I loved this. I don't pretend to be French but I do try to pronounce the names as close to correctly as I can get. I spoke of L'Occitane in several of my videos and people always send me messages and tell me they always thought it was lo'-ki-tayne. Haha! Thanks for doing this. XOXO Heidi
Ah lala !
But it's true that french is one of the most difficult language in the world and at least they try ! ^^
@veryelle14 Eh salut! une Française sur YouTube, je désespérais d'en trouver une autre :)
Je les trouve trop mignonnes les Américaines. J'adore quand elles essaient de dire "prêt-à-papier" : D C'est vrai que les Anglaises y arrivent mieux, Lollipop26 (tu la connais? elle est géniale), prononce parfaitement!
A bientôt et un tout grand merci pour ton commentaire!

You don't HAVE to pronounce it exactly like her if you can't, just get the gist of it.
Like Geurlain. You don't have to say it exactly like her, using the throat, just don't say it "Gurr-lain" or something.

parteypoison 1 year ago
@parteypoison
YSL is in fact the abreviation of Yves Saint Laurent and that's the name of the company's founder.
His first name was Yves and his last name is comprised of 2 parts: Saint-Laurent.
Is that what you needed?

French is a bit stiffer and pronounced from the nose, where spanish comes from the throat.
I hope this helped!
