I don't know if you've figured out the event yet, but the steering penguin says different things depending on your position on the map. With this you can at least tell where the f*** you're heading.

As much fun Legend of Mana is, it definitely has moments like this that just piss you off. Even with a mandatory walkthrough it's annoying.

maybe this can help you out try this out go to the steering wheel guy on the ship and try south,south and west to hopefully get nordic fields tell me how that turns out OK also I could use some help how can I raise my poulter box's luck??? to find more rare items

feed it some diceberries or other luck raising food you get from the ochards...my best guess would be diceberries

you suppose to stir to

west north west

Required: You must crush at least 20 crabs on

Madora Beach. Then talk to the crab that tells you how many crabs you killed

without leaving Madora Beach. If you got at least 20, you should go back to

the world map instantly.

In reply to the question about sailing - When you tell the navigator to move, it changed the position of the ship, so the next set of coordinates you put in will go from what you enter last. to reset it leave the ship and come back on board. then you should be able to get to the quests.

with the little crab, if you go to your study at home you'll have a little crab walking around in your room. it dosen't do anything, but it's kind of cute at least.

I made a map of the steering wheel puzzle and it did not help, I did figure out where all of the monsters were and everything that the he said but it did not help me get to the ice level

Well, he was harder than the lord of jewels... so at least it was worth it? The duck really seems daft, personally I liked my Succubus I got from the... I think it was the snow fields (a humanoid pet). I think their behavior/efficiency in combat is connected to how you feed them and you can check their behavior type when the pet is grazing. There's a guide on Gamefaqs for the different ways food can effect the pet's combat prowess.

There's a guide for the quiet sea on gamefaqs too. Such a pain.
