The bike is a lot narrower than loebs citroen. Early in the race that became pretty apparent when loeb was having trouble keeping it between the bales. The bike still has line options.
I am really surprised Everts pulled this off. That road is ideal for a rally car. Slick pavement and no big bumps and jumps for the MX type bike to really shine. My Impreza was clearly superior to my bikes on wet pavement, with the bikes spinning and squirming where the car just pulled and went. In dirt knobs can dig in, but on slick hard surfaces, I'd say AWD cars are better. Hats off to Everts.
and thats an almost stock bike vs very modified car, and not expensive bike vs very expensive car, 2 people vs one, big engine vs 450, 4 wheels vs two...
it clearly is a "moded bike". Stefan Everts is with Red Bull KTM, so its going to be a complete factory bike, not set-up anything like the models available for purchase...
I said road tires, I never said that they were slicks. Rain tyres are road tires. Considering they had to run with partial gravel setup for Cyprus rally for the entire first day, I don't think it's exactly a risk.
On WRC cars, tarmac and rain tyres are sized 8x18", and gravel tyres are 7x15"... I think Loeb had got 15" wheels for a better handling on his car and for making it turn on this really really narrow road...
everts clearly has raintyres as u can see the profile of the tyre @ the beginning, and do you realy think that citroen would take such a risk by giving there expensive car the wrong setup with the big possibility that he crashes it?
supermoto for ever

I wonder what the time without a co pilot would've been.

@muddassarfarooq333 a bike is obliviously slower than the car, but, on the other hand, the bike is more agile, so it depends on the course.

Gotta love the endless car vs bike discussion.
The way everts used the curb as a rutted corner was brilliant tho

Everts was on a Supermoto with road tires, it's designed for the road. Loeb had a gravel setup with gravel tires.

You are wrong. He is on a Supermoto with raintyres. How can you see the car is set up for gravel??? and not for rain.

Try riding a push bike fast down a cobbled road before saying stupid shit.
mikeymike6911 2 years ago
indeed, driving a bike at such speed on such wet cobbled road requires much more skill and guts than driving a car

not really not at all the road was too small for the Car man thats not fair take a drag duel then see
muddassarfarooq333 2 years ago
@muddassarfarooq333
Road too small? So i guess they do rallys on huge freeways only and never on small roads in forests and shit like that.
And why would a drag duel be fair? These machines are all about CORNERING...

@muddassarfarooq333
Won't be fair towards the car ;)
You really expect a car to win a dragrace from a motor?
Ok, I agree this KTM won't have a too great topspeed, but the acceleration is much better...
