A 1 liter bike would only get acceleration out of bends the atom would carry more speed through the bends and still would have a higher top speed as bikes have more drag. They have more acceleration because of power to weight. It would have only made a difference on straight as the bike would weigh more and have less grip in the turns because of that, not knocking the bike just analyzing the stats .

@Rogers1977 exactly the top of the range 1000cc stocks are still more than half the price of the of the atom! the bmw s1000rr was keeping up with the £150,000+ atom v8 (2nd fastest thing on the top gear track) and the bmw costs less than £13,000! (coincidently which is more than half the price of this ariel atom)
