Riku was actually the rightful master of sora’s Keyblade, but once he chose darkness over light, the weapon chose Sora instead. Sora can use Synch Blade because he has both Sora's Keyblade and Ventus's Keyblade, due to Ventus's heart remaining within him.

Roxas is not Ven.

Roxas looks identical to Ventus, due to Ventus's heart having been within Sora's heart when Roxas was created.

Ventus is his own person. At the end of "birth by sleep" his body and soul stayed intact the same way Kairi's did in "kingdom hearts 1" because his heart was pure with no evil whatsoever. Aqua locked his body and soul away into castle oblivion, she's the only one who can navigate the place, so she's the only one who can locate Ventus. and Ventus's heart found its way to Sora and their hearts were merged. this explains why sora can weild a keyblade and why Sora's noboby looks like Ventus... ;)

@RoboBopBop2 Nah Sora still would have been able to wield the keyblade, because when he confronted Riku in Hollow Bastion, his heart was stronger than Riku's, which is why the keyblade returned to Sora. =] And Aqua was about to give the power to hold a keyblade to Sora, but didn't when she saw Riku was already given the power by Terra.

Fun Fact:Roxas is an acronym for Sora with X.The X is supposed tomean X blade which is what Ventus is supposed to be.Therefore, Roxas is a mixture of Sora and Ventus.

used Master Eraqus's keyblade to transform the Land of Departure into Castle Oblivion. Thus only she

knows it's secrets and how to navigate through it.

i watched a spoiler cutscene where sora took what was left of ven's heart into him, and i made up this theory that the reason roxas looks like ven is because of that. only the rest of my theory is that roxas IS ventus, and that when sora turned into heartless, ventus was basically reborn as sora's nobody, with no name or memory, and was renamed roxas when org. xiii found him. that's how i like to think of it.

Nobody today truly knows what Kingdom Hearts means, if they found out just the past 3 years, and went and bought one game, and watched the rest. They are nobodies to have an X in their name. The ones that have walked with the series watching it grow, watching it lose meaning, watching it come back, watching the countless systems. We are people made of true Kingdom Hearts light, and we will not be put into the darkness. We will wait countless days, weeks, months, even years if it takes, for KH3.

I mean, there is a theory, that roxas wasn't really a full nobody, but some sort of vessel for ven's heart, created, when sora turned into a heartless. From the moment of separation (sora becoming a heartless) until the reunion of roxas and sora, the heart of ventus resides inside roxas, thus making him not a nobody like we know them, but an actual human (maybe). Axel even states, that roxas might not be a nobody, because he shows
