The orchestral playing is heavy handed, rigid, and sounds like mud. The intonation in singing seems strangled by the heavy vibrato.

Brava to Sills' "Let the Bright Seraphim." Wonderfully exciting singing and ornamentation in an era when ornamentation of baroque music was not yet common.

I was taught this Aria by one of my voice teachers, Dr. Caruso in Pittsburgh, who studied with Eileen Farrell at Indiana University for his DMA. I will always think of Tom Caruso when I hear this Aria sung by my favorite Dramatic Soprano, Eileen Farrell.
