  • The orchestral playing is heavy handed, rigid, and sounds like mud. The intonation in singing seems strangled by the heavy vibrato.

  • Brava to Sills' "Let the Bright Seraphim." Wonderfully exciting singing and ornamentation in an era when ornamentation of baroque music was not yet common.

  • I was taught this Aria by one of my voice teachers, Dr. Caruso in Pittsburgh, who studied with Eileen Farrell at Indiana University for his DMA. I will always think of Tom Caruso when I hear this Aria sung by my favorite Dramatic Soprano, Eileen Farrell.
