I'd say, that thrash metal can be quick, but doesnt have to.. there are many slow thrash metal songs.. but speed is always quick and doesnt have to ha contain thrash riffs. it can be also power metal etc. my opinion

slayer isn't death metal, the closest you can compare them to being death metal is really EARLY death metal that had sumwhat of a thrash feel. slayer is thrash metal, and yeah anthrax, metallica(was), and megadeth are metal, no one is disputing that.
