I just listened to the original inauguration speech of JFK, thanks to YouTube. He pronounces "ask" absolutely in a typical "standard" American manner and not at all in the gross exaggeration that Pastor Wright is trying to sell us in order to prove his point..

The difference between regional accents and Ebonics, is that Ebonics is not just about pronunciation differences, it's about grammatically incorrect English.
