I love this ride :D Rode it exactly 27 times haha But they are tearing it down because it was built on swamp land and its sinking o-o i know scary right? But they are rebuilding it where SOB was.(: So its all good and it will be better than ever.

@iamasquare No... wrong. There was no swamp. The only ride built on water at KI was The Beast but they filled in the pond. Also, Son of Beast isn't torn down. Also, it isn't sinking, period. That's a rumor that has been around since the ride was built.

I agree I am terrified of heights and I made the mistake of looking the the right and nearly passed out from seeing the rest of the park from where I sat, talk about screaming. Never watch Final Destination 3 before you go on these rides.. paranoia sets in.

If you plan to go on this ride, DO NOT look up at it from the pathway when it goes by, because the shaking and rattling of the supports kinda creeps you out. It's some pretty durable and thick steel, but just the sound and the sight of it shaking is REALLY creepy. But it's a good coaster, though. Very fun. Damn, they built some good coasters in the 80's! Also, going up the lift hill, don't look to your right, that's another creepy sight.

And no, it is NOT sinking!

They are tearing this ride down because it was built on swamp land and It's sinking into the ground. This is my favorite ride in the park (Besides Diamondback)! They are going to build a new ride but Not on the swamp land. And yes Vortex and Diamondback are both Standing proud at Kings Island to this day.

it used to yup it sure did. now a days its sunk so much at places its almost unbareable to ride. I call it the headache machine. The section around where your opicture is taken is the worst, always throws your head forward then whips it back to hard, and holding your head back against the seat only works somewhat. Going up the first hill you can really tell how much its sunk,the left rail is much lower then the right.The beast is getting super rough to ride also,but idc ill always love the beast

i hated roller coasters in fact i couldn't even ride the racers without getting scared... me friends forced me onto this ride and now i love roller coasters... i'm not a big fan of the stomach thing either but on this ride it only makes your stomach feel weird on the first big drop. I tried to take a camera on this ride. They noticed it and stopped us at the TOP OFTHE FIRST HILL, WALKED UP THERE ON THE RIGGING AND TOOK IT FROM ME. Kings Island has that very same camera somewhere in a storage closet still today.
