Finally there releasing a new metroid game. The Super Metroid hacks are fun to play but i was starting to think they would never make a new one.

Also they made mother brain loook like she did when you fought her in Super Metroid. thats just ......Awsome!!!!!

What YoungBadmanTV is trying to say is that the game has that feeling of loneliness and that's what (in my opinion and a lot of other people's opinions) made the series so good. Super Metroid & Metroid Prime are perfect examples of it. Metroid Prime 3 felt less like a Metroid game, and more like a Star Fox game really.

Nothing about "ruining my childhood" - but 90% of the Metroid games out are absolutely brilliant games. I hope this isn't average, the series is outstanding.

In Fusion she referred to this Adam, who was her commanding officer at some point. In this game he's alive, so I guess these events happen at the start of her carrier, while she is still getting trained in using the Power Suit and such.

This is too unmetroid-like. There shouldn't be any human faces except for Samus and the game should only be playable in the ego-perspective.

have to agree im a little worried about this iv been playing metroid since super metroid and i love the series and this looks team ninja have made this a bit like ninja gaiden which isnt a totaly bad thing but i hope its not a linear progression. But either way im excited i just wish theyd show metroid dread :(

Just keep in mind that this is a prequal showing before Samus was all alone.

And technically before being a Bounty Hunter she was with the Galactic Repulic.

Metroid is an explore and upgrade type game and thats all that makes the games "metroid-like"

Also what do you mean by "ego" perspective? That makes no sense

I mean, in this video Samus is often shown fighting with some creatures - and you don't see it only from Samus view. Look, in Metroid Prime 3 the whole gameplay except for cut-scenes is seen from Samus view. In this game it is the third-viewer-perspective, like someone who is following Samus.

And with the lack of faces: In MP3 the most persons have their helmets on or are "aliens". This looks too manga-like to me. This shouldn't be a con but this isn't typical for the Metroid-series. You can recognize it if you compare Zero-Suit-Samus (e.g. Super Smash Bros Brawl) with the helmet-less Samus shown here.
