heres my question though... in the intervening time period between BO2 and SR1 what happened to Vorador? (I am presuming along the lines that SR1 time will still occur despite this deviation from the mainline)
WeNeedSomeGolfShoe, seems to be right, raziel get to avernus catedral in present fights kain and after all they travel to past to fight the ancient squid god,so kain kills mobius before he gets vorador,i guess blodd omen 2 wil be reedited
@WeNeedSomeGolfShoes When kain kills Moebius in the elder gods chamber hi already executed Vorador and whas killed bye the young Kain and ressurected bye the elder god (We might never know how hi still lives in blood omen)
"Do you so wish to return to the grave, old friend?"
That settles it, Vorador was ressurected. The mystery of Vorador's appearance in Blood Omen 2 has been solved, all it needed was an old fashioned dose of paying attention.
You could be right. Either that is the case or in the paradox that was created in SR 2 Vorador was never killed. If I remember right, blood omen 2 was the "new memories" that raziel spoke of in SR 2. It is one or the other.
Maybe he just retrieved the head and body, put them together and used the Soul Reaver(including Raziels Soul from the end of defiance) and resurrected him like it was done with Janos? In SR2 the head is not rotten as is Janos Body years after his death, so as long as the heart remains intact, a vampire can be resurrected? Maybe
@GraveBlashyrkh In the Legacy of Kain universe, a vampire is only considered truly dead when its body crumbles to dust. Once the method of death is reversed, like removing a stake from its body, the vampire's soul can return to and reanimate it's body.
Play the original Soul Reaver. You'll see what I mean.
I own them all and played them all, but we don't know all the mechanics, we only know removing a stake or returning a heart will revive them, but Vorador was beheaded. We have to wait, maybe we get a solution for the resurrection someday
@GraveBlashyrkh I read that they were originally gonna put in something about Vorador's resurrection in Defiance, but time constraints put an end to that.
Yes I know about that. Most cut out parts are due to time or money problems. Good side: we have 5 games, otherwise it would have ended with SR1. Downside: The story is very confusing with ore and more missing parts with each part
@Rahab111222 What Kain said to Vorador has the intention to mean nothing else than a threat. I still find very unlikely that Vorador was resurrected. The evidence along the games seems to tell otherwise.
@NessDark if u look at defiance u still see that Vorador still dies since Mobius has captured him and neither Raziel not Kain where there to stop the execution so either somwhon else saved him (wich i doubt) or somwhon must ressurect him (but the only people that can answer this question is Crystal Dynamics so we can only gues at this point im afraid.)
@RobinJanssenBelgium well, there is a difference between the pre-paradox Vorador and the post-paradox Vorador, but that is a detail I prefer people explore by themselves.
Nahh....Ryochii. Knowing Kain's attitude, he probably didn't really give a damn about Umah after she betrayed him. That's just Kain's logic--his justice. Anyone screw him over, he'll kill them.
Kain tells Vorador "Do you wish to return to the grave old friend". This line is important. It explains how we see Vorador alive again in the Blood Omen2, when in Blood Omen 1 he was killed. Kain resurrected Vorador in order to use him to re-biuld the vampire race
For a time, I thought that in this paradox-spawned alternate history, that Kain saved Vorador from the guillotine that Moebius' mob had dragged him to, and that Vorador was dead before Janos turned him into a vampire...
it time paradox time

horusrage 8 months ago
@horusrage 2 things might have happend.
1: Vorador died of his injuries in this game
2: Vorador tried to betray kain later on in history
(but in the series it better for our imagination to work out the details since there are alot of plot holes in the game .....for now.)
RobinJanssenBelgium 3 months ago
@RobinJanssenBelgium
1. Is unlikely because they cover how quickly wounds are healed by vampires in SR1.
2. Definitely possible.
I do like to use imagination. My question was more to prompt and point out a plot hole.

Well this and the fact that Janos was ressurected migth have trigered the events in Bo2.
TheThordir 1 year ago
@WeNeedSomeGolfShoes No, it isn't. When Moebius was killed in BO1 he was resurrected by Elder God right away and THEN killed in Defiance.
