Dax Wave and groom worked for me cuz I naturally have thick hair due to some african roots. I learned a good method off this site called 360-waves(.)com remove brackets. They got alot of many other very good methods too. I highly recommend the hot water method, sum how it speeds the process up.

As far the question, I use both a wave cap, and du-rag. Before I go to sleep i weat both. When I'm around the house, it's usually wave cap.

For pomades, I use 360 style to start the wave pattern. Then I use Dax to make it deeper. I don't suggest Dax or Muarrys as aprimary pomade simply because they are both so damn thick. They are not meant for beginners who don't know what they are doing.
