Bendis is very........hit and miss for the most part. I loved his past work but his latest NA story is making me sorry I paid $4.

I can't believe you guys and many others don't like Phams art. I don't get it. As I look at it it appears no where near as terrible as say.....Tans unpolished, unrefined art on NA. If theres a books whose artwork does not warrant a $4 price tag, its Tans. Between those two I'd take Pham over Tan or even Deotado on DA any day.

Lots of opinions around here, Black. Doesn't mean that we're right and you're wrong as we all have different tastes. As for myself, I'm not crazy about his work, but that doesn't mean that he won't evolve into a star in my eyes.

And Elliott, you are correct. As soon as this whole Dark Reign thing has run its coarse, the classic Avengers will be back and hopefully Bendis will not be writing it.

When Marvel does, what they must do is 1)Bring back the "Big 3" Cap, Thor, Iron Man 2)Fix the mess Bendis made of The Sentry & Wanda 3) Either merge both Avengers teams, whoever they may consist of, or have an East team & West Coast team 4)Keep Spidey & Luke Cage, ditch Aries & Wolvie.

I hope the classic Avengers don't return for it may mean the end for the NA line up. Its the NA team that endeared me to this franchise and with the likes of Spidey, Cap, and Wolvie on one team I don't see how any other iteration will be superior.

I like the New Avengers team myself. But, I wouldn't mind a blending of the New Avengers and the Classic Avengers or two Avenger teams, one east coast and one west with New & Classic members from both those teams, plus a few others. Personally, I've always wanted Ghost Rider on a Avengers team.

Oh man.....please please please please please read Roger Sterns run or Kurt Busieks or Steve Engleharts or Roy Thomas's runs on Avengers. Anything resembling those runs would be superior imo.

I like Slott's choice of villian, that's just me, because I always liked evil demonic badguys so seeing Mordred the Mystic and the Darkhold - the book of sins - make a comeback was a real treat.

Only reason saar1707 says that the villian is "gay" is because he has no clue who Chthon or the Darkhold or Mordred the Mystic are. For any fans reading this, go to wikipedia and punch in "Chthon" and it will bring you up to speed.

Some fans are bashing the choice of Avengers, but its a very fun mix. Yes, US Agent is a poor man's Cap, but every team needs a jerk and I liked him in Omega Flight (which should be a series). I'm predicting that this team won't stay around very long, I mean, Hulk isn't gonna stick around for the long haul. Some are angry that the New Avengers died by killer vines but come on people, as soon as Chton is beaten, everything will go back to normal.

Overall, I enjoyed Mighty Avengers. Yes, it has the same "puting the team together" thing like Bendis but, I feel in the context of this story, it works better. Also, I like that Slott has picked up the Plot String of "What the Hell ever happened to Scarlet Witch?" which Bendis just left dangling since that issue of New Avengers during Civil War. Hopefully, he resolve Wanda's story. As for the art, it isn't perfect, but I always seem to find something I like about any artwork, so it isn't bad.

MA is the one 3.99 book thats tempting me as I too long for a return to the classic Avengers.

I'd prefer a classic style artist on the book instead of all these Image-inspired artists but Alan Davis is probably the only Marvel artist left doing that style. I'd love to see Marvel hire Carlos Pacheco to do a Classic Avengers line up, his work on Avengers Forever was incredible.

Marvel did sign Carlos Pacheco to work on Ultimate Avengers with Mark Mllar and Lenil Francis Yu. I really wish Pacheco could have been the artist for Mighty Avengers but instead Marvel will put him on a book with, imho, a total hack writer in Millar.

I heard something about Pacheco not being DC exclusive anymore but thats bad news man. I wish Marvel would kill the ultimate line, why bother with that when the normal continuity is good.

I forsee a book from Millar with about 15 splash pages out of 22.

Millar was pretty awful when he wrote for 2000AD and has gotten worse writing for marvel. Wolverine Enemy of the state was good and Superman Red Son(I heard a rumour that was Grant Morrisons idea tho.

the story was stupid! out of no where the entire world is "ruined" and the NA are been "killed" Scarlet witch come bake from nowhere with a mission, and the way the are puting the team toghter is stupid and the heroes that are chosing is all over the place... Dan slott just put all the "cool" characthers he could think of and bendis didn't took and make the the new MA. the villans gay and the stupid cow shit is even worse.

first all the art is amazing! second Bendis writing is better then Slott . thrid the new NA are the "old" NA just with Ms marvel and mockybird (if she will join in), and this much better and logic team the the new MA team.

I don't like NA as much as most, not that I find MA particularly interesting either. Have you gotten NA #49? If so, what did you think? I was largely disappointed. For $4 I expected more from the artwork and story. I may drop it if things don't pick up fast.
