Thanks for getting "real" about time management and showing us this cool new tool, Elizabeth! I've gotta tell my clients, and share your vid! And, hey, as a future videocaster, I would LOVE to know how you shot footage of the software...I don't know how to do that on my PC. Is it possible? How? Thanks for sharing insights and your great energy!
Yes, it's easy to do. On a PC you use software called Camtasia, there are also some lower-priced programs for screen capture video too. On a Mac I use Snapz Pro X.
Thanks for your comment! I understand the privacy issue, and thought about that myself. You can purge the info whenever you want, though.
I've become much more tolerant of privacy issues. Perhaps b/c I'm a lawyer, I know that I could get info about you that would curl your toes, all on the internet, all for free, without breaking any laws. Perhaps I've just given up on the idea of privacy. ;)
You have done a really nice job on the video and the software is darn clever. Privacy is the problem for me. It should be a desktop application to avoid the privacy issue. Even my e-wallet password program doesn't track the sites I go to or the applications I use. Again, great video and software concept.
I never thought about turning it off. I never really realized it was an option. Even so, the prospect is frightening. What if I turn off my computer and the universe implodes. That would be just my luck. I would never forgive myself.
Yes, I now know that I spend like 55 hours a week, and 5 hours each on Sat and Sunday (days I thought I was taking mostly "off" from work). I now actually TURN MY COMPUTER OFF for 1/2 or a full day each weekend.
If written a blogpost about RescueTime and how to adjust it to your own needs. See my blog igrowdigital

I'm kind of afraid to see how much time I spend on my computer.
