You're a brave soul. Those cliffs scare the crap out of me. If you go back to the state park, try the trail off of deselm rd, which is off 102 right across from the state park. Go past the riding stables and there will be a little parking area on the left right along rock creek. That's my favorite place to hike. Much better than the main branch of the state park. Plus, it's a loop trail, which means you don't walk the same area twice. I hate not having loops in the main bit of the state park.
I grew up right next to the KRSP from 1963 to 1983. Been back a few times since then.
