why is the film so focused on japan, japanese culture, jap ppl, the town? isn't this about dolphins? why didn't he take the time to include other dolphins being killed in the same way in the FILM ABOUT DOLPHIN? why was denmark and other countries killing dolphins not mentioned?

and why do you think ppl in denmark kills dolphins?
does it matter if they supply to see world or to eat them? it's still killing, i don't see a huge media coverage over there.
and dolphins are contaminated everywhere...it's in the same ocean.

cows are considered sacred in some people's view, so when do we stop killing cows for their peace of mind?
denmark kills dolphin (check my vid) I don't see OBARRY rushing over to create huge negative publicity for them and destory their rep and economy

@xoxo221x The bigger issue that was discovered in The Cove was that the Japanese people were being poisoned (mercury) by dolphin meat being masqueraded as whale meat, especially to school lunch programs. Why are dolphins being killed in Denmark - to supply the dolphin shows with dolphins and/or to feed people? Are their dolphins contaminated?

It's about animal rights isnt it? smart or dumb, they should all have equal rights. how many animals (from rats to monkeys) do we put to death for the profits from pharmaceutical and other researches? Don't forget the massive number of dogs and cats we kill everyday because we can't take care of them. how about the animals we hunt for kill joy? if this is how we treat our animals, who r we to tell others what to do? i just hope this doc is about animals n not racism in disguise. Shame.....

If mercury pollution is now going on just like you say, many many Minamata would occur.Japan is one of the most successful country about countermeasure toward pollution .Japanese environmental technology is the highest level in the world. And mercury regulation is highly strict. Mercury pollution of cove is complete fake story.

The cove insulted Japanese for money. For profit the cove denied the culture in Japan. For business the cove destroyed the tradition in Japan. This is the conflict of interest between the money and the cultural tradition.
Nobody in the world could answer why dolphins are superior to other animals. Why only dolphins are smarter and more beautiful than other animals?

@chrysan6128 Did you see the movie. More important than the dolphins being saved was to save the Japanese people from eating mercury contaminated dolphin meat being masqueraded as whale meat. The Japanese didn't know they were being poisoned by a few greedy fisherman.
