i dont think every midi controller is for djing, he must have these for producing, just my input, but i use one for live mixing in a couple of songs yet for that you can get a maschine which has cool features!

For this mix I'm using only Xone 4D. The Korg padKontrol now replaced by Maschine from Native Instrument. Anyway all the other controllers were use in conjunction with Ableton and some other VST. The Berhinger fader unit is now used for video mixing on another computer. Might be excessive for my current needs I agree. I guess you'll see some on ebay soon from my accumulated inventory of midi controllers. Cheers.

Oh, im pretty sure that you can ;) you just need a good soundcard with a good DSP on it. MIDI will overtake the hardware music production because its very easy to install and the sweetest part to me is that you can control everything you want on your software !! and ofc today u have a really nice software that can replace hardware and still to get the same sound :) Regards

Sure, I meant to say that a midi controller can do so much more than a standard analog mixer ;) So that's why you can't really compare them. I'm really into midi myself and looking into buying a Xone:4D :D

Not sure if I understand your question; but this setup is very flexible. In the next vid you'll see an add on which is Maschine from native instrument. It is very interesting to do live sampling. On this vid I use Traktor DJ; however I can produce track on the fly with Ableton Live and this set up.

In this instance I'm using Traktor for djing. But usually I play with Ableton Live, and create track on the fly. I'm not posting the track yet . They need improvement. lol
