Look at how much we think we knew as teenagers, but realize at age 30+, was pure foolishness, and that our elders were right. Paul's issue was the forcing of the law (like circumcision) to be Christian. What Paul really disliked was lies and false preaching.

Every time my catholic friends feel like they did something bad.. the first thing i hear from them is " I need to go to church and confess" That is a direct hit to Jesus.... Why? The Priests forgives sin on behalf of God, it is a Sacrament that the Priest administers because God has given us the grace of forgiveness. There is no doubt God forgives, but that does not mean that we can go and sin our hearts out without consequence. We should still lead Holy lives and every time we sin we remove ourselves from God. Confession allows God to remove those sins and restore our grace. The Priest is only the person who facilitates this.
Jesus also forgave the sins of MANY individuals in the Bible. Why did He do that if He was going to forgive the world of everybody's sins? And then why did Jesus breathe on the disciples and say "Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained." John 20:22-23
What's the point of Jesus doing that then? Confession is important for admitting fault and to cleanse one of sins we commit

Many modern laws can be considered to be anchored in morality, which is what separates sins from graces. For example, stealing is against the law, which is also a sin. In addition to these "common knowledge" sins, knowingly disobeying the law is ALSO a sin itself, thus pedophilia is unlawful and thus is a sin. Hope this is clear.

@TyWhite96 To an extent, you certainly can believe and be loved by God, and Jesus. But as individuals, we're limited in what we are able to understand and figure out on our own. Look at how much we think we knew as teenagers, but realize at age 30+, was pure foolishness, and that our elders were right. Take that forward a few decades (like where I am right now), and you realize it doesn't end, that you can't figure it all out in one lifetime. It's why Jesus left us His church to show us.

Post conversion however, Paul loved Jesus, He fought fervently for the church. Heck, he wrote 13 books of the New Testament. Paul like the law, like Pontifex said, there are guidelines. Every time my catholic friends feel like they did something bad.. the first thing i hear from them is " I need to go to church and confess" That is a direct hit to Jesus.... Why? Because Jesus the son of God died in the cross to forgive us for our sins and have eternal life. Thats one of the catholic religion's fault.

The Priests forgives sin on behalf of God, it is a Sacrament that the Priest administers because God has given us the grace of forgiveness. There is no doubt God forgives, but that does not mean that we can go and sin our hearts out without consequence. We should still lead Holy lives and every time we sin we remove ourselves from God. Confession allows God to remove those sins and restore our grace. The Priest is only the person who facilitates this.

Jesus also forgave the sins of MANY individuals in the Bible. Why did He do that if He was going to forgive the world of everybody's sins? And then why did Jesus breathe on the disciples and say "Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained." John 20:22-23
What's the point of Jesus doing that then? Confession is important for admitting fault and to cleanse one of sins we commit

Do you want to know what my religion is? The bible. I believe the word. Yeah, church is good for fellowship if you mean the building people meet in on Sundays, even though in the bible "church" usually refers to the people of Christ. I think its okay to meet in a building and have a place for worship. I wonder though, if Jesus were alive today, I don't think he would be concerned about the buildings people met in, but concerned with those who and who do not know him.

I'm Catholic and I know in my heart that Jesus loves my gay brothers and sisters in Christ just as much as He loves me. A pedophile's behaviour IS sinful if he or she chooses to act on unlawful behaviour. A drug addict, in the position of the Church is only sinning if his or her addiction cannot be controlled or he or she didn't make an effort to curb it. Similarly to how a mentally retarded individual cannot commit sin because he or she isn't aware of it.
With regard to the homosexuality issue, it is not a sin to identify with sexual orientations, it IS a sin to act out on it.

My apologies, I assumed you were familiar with what Catholics consider to be sins and sinful behaviour (they are different).
Many modern laws can be considered to be anchored in morality, which is what separates sins from graces. For example, stealing is against the law, which is also a sin. In addition to these "common knowledge" sins, knowingly disobeying the law is ALSO a sin itself, thus pedophilia is unlawful and thus is a sin. Hope this is clear.
