  • As a family, we are trying to introduce more whole foods into our diet. We also blend our greens with fruits to make green smoothies because we know that we need the greens and we do not want to eat them. I don;t try to trick them, just make them pleasing like a fruit smoothie with some squash added or sweet potato waffles... Just incorporate the veggies into recipes.

  • If you live in a meat family, you're going to hate veggies growing up. The adults certainly do. Seriously.

  • you shouldnt have to "trick" them

  • Parents should force them to eat everything on their plate or else go to bed hungry. Stupid American parents.

  • I didnt fallow the way my parents or family ate, they ate fried, cookies, cakes, junk food. I just started eating healthy on my own. I ate fruits vegetables, grains, no processed foods and ifeel awsome, and im in shape. I m so happy I learned to eat this way and Im going to eat like this for life, just because I feel so good, and light. In fact my family saw the way I ate and changed the way they ate too. So Basically I didnt follow the way my family ate, I did it on my own and im proud!!

  • my son cannot eat vegetables containing vitamin k because hes on the blood thinner "coumadin" can you suggest veg that does not contain vitamin k? many thanks.

  • @sophthekillerteddy9 me either and im 28! lol

  • It's called force feed.

  • just Kids !!!????

  • I still don't get it. When I was a kid I LOVED vegetables. And I have a nephew who goes and buys carrots and broccoli instead of chocolate bars.

  • @roadolive

I think it's all in how it was prepared. I think some people just steam/boil and serve- which doesn't taste all that great. I always had in a nice garlic sauce.

  • @roadolive no..you simply hates vegetables that's why you eat them all!!! how can someone who loved vegetables wants them to be digested and turn into shit...

  • @kelnology So I guess people hate animals too lol.

  • @roadolive yes..haha most of the peoples including myself hates nice food..esp when its done by those 5 star hotels..dam..i hate them so much i will turn them into my shit... =X

  • lol the comment under mines.

  • Another good way to make then eat their veggies is: When they say they dont want to eat then, pull the plate away and say 'Fine, I guess you dont want to eat anything at all, then yell right in there face STARVE TO DEATH then throw there plate at the wall. Im going to be the best dad in the world

  • What if they eat everything else first?

  • thats when you switch from emotional abuse to physical

  • @g0atf1sh no I tried it didnt work out.

  • Natalie = Hott

  • Or smack there penis

  • FUCk VEGETABLES !

  • why u no like veggies?

  • peas

  • I know an even better trick, yell at them.

  • lazy parents ftl

  • agreed

  • Completely agree, my kid would not eat peas then we grew some, inside by the window, and he would check the plants every day for peas and eat them :) Letting help while cooking helps a lot as well to get kids to eat home cooked food. Parents' habits is the most important influence as well.

  • if good food is introduced at a young age, they are more likely to eat it when they are older. simply dont have cola in the house and they wont be asking for it as much. also, include them in the cooking process of foods so they get a positive association to it. when my sis makes cupcakes, she loves them because she enjoys the process. if she would make fruits salads, she would love fruit salads. try it.

  • You could convince them that vegetables are evil, wicked things that need to be destroyed in the pit of the stomach, or else they grow larger and larger eventually into horrible carnivorous plant creatures. Like that movie.

Best to eat them while they're small and pose little threat. It's a mission to save mankind from the wrath of fruits (grapes?) Gets the kids interested, and motivated.

Plus, if you don't eat the berries, someone might stain their new shoes. That's bad.

  • there were a power puff girls episode liek what u explained..the vegetables turned into vegmonsters

  • yeah! and at the end everybody in the town starts eating them and that way the powerpuff girls won, right?

  • Again, I am going to be really snide about this. Natalie, I really have a problem with the title of this video. It is awful to "trick" kids into eating fruits and veggies because it teaches them to avoid them in the future. While I do like the statistic that you open the video with, I would appreciate the video more if you just encouraged all people, especially parents, to eat more fruits and veggies. Natalie, I am ashamed about your pompous attitude towards nutrition.

  • but the strategy she talks about has nothing to do with "tricking" so what's your point?

  • yes, but this strategy is better than tricking kids into eating vegetables; that way they actually enjoy doing it and will hopefully do it for the rest of their lives.

  • just wipe their excrement off of it, then tell them to eat it.

  • kids follow their parents. i teach my little sis to eat healthy by setting a good example. now she loves her water and fruit. lead by example and if they love you they will follow. you cant give them veggies whilst you eat pizza, it wont work.

  • Full truth.

  • Totally essential. Enthusiasm is contagious. Leadership only works by example.

  • i would go crazy if someone ate pizza next to me while i'm eating like... broccoli or something. So actually what you said is kinda obvious, i mean, i don't think there are many parents who'd do that cause they obviously must know it's the most idiotic way to get your children to eat vegetables. But hey, there are also people who think you can eat cigarettes, so yeah :D

  • not many parents would make their children eat good things for dinner whilst eating pizza next to them. but many parents lecture children about healthy eating and then 1hr later eat some junk food. setting a good example is a continious process not a one time thing at the dinner table.

  • Teaching children about veggies through gradening is NOT A TRICK....

  • Aw tricking people isn't nice :P

  • im 10 and i dont eat alot of candy and shit i hate mcy d's and all fast food i thin kthis vid is good exept for the title "trick" but all my friends say im the skinniest person they kno lol

  • did those of you who are bashing even watch the video? It doesn't actually involve tricking your children.

  • Haha yeah.

  • Great vid, but I hate the title. Key word is "trick"

  • Grow your edible gardens!! Get the kids and whole community involved Say No to the big fast food chains... tricking children is not going to help them in the long run though - they're not stupid and nurturing a healthy resect for food and nutrition will be more beneficial mentally and physically in the long run. check out videos about edible gardens, growing your own food at home, sourcing food from within 100 miles and not eating imported food...

  • That's true regarding the study. My sister stayed with my aunt most of the time and she owned a farm. She eats more vegetables in a day than I eat in a week. She also eats the weird ones as well. lol

  • I dont think you should be tricking kids to eating veggies i hardley eat any candy when I was little I used to eat everything(thats food) and still do you should feed your child at a young age to influence them to eat veggies instead of giving them candy its bad for your teeth especially at a young age then their teeth will get cavities so its not right to trick kids especially to eat vegtables its wrong to I mean seriously this is just plain sick!!!

  • This is ridiculous! "Tricking" kids into eating vegetables is the totally wrong approach. I grew up in a country outside of the US where people actually grow up enjoying fruits and vegetables and it definitely rubbed off on me. The only reason why kids think vegetables are bad in America is 1) Illuminati propaganda on the TV and 2) stupid parents who buy into Illuminati propaganda and don't like vegetables themselves b/c they think they taste "bad" (mind control) compared to junk food (no way)

  • i mix some of my vegetables with a little bit of low sodium soy sauce, and it makes the vegetables taste better

  • A big problem of the american society: what kids "HAVE" to eat. it will all be much easier if you think of: what kids "want" to eat as in Italy for example... kids do eat everything, wanna know why? simple, the kids are thought to eat things because they want to eat them, and not as something that they have to eat. in america you say "if you won't eat that, you won't get the treat" the main goal here is not the food, that CAN be enjoyable, but it's not [because its a HAVE to] it is the desert.

  • OMG I completely agree with you! Only in America have I seen this mindset that you "have" to eat vegetables instead of desiring to eat them because they have a much better and more complex taste than disgusting McDonald's & shit. American parents really can't take responsibility for their children... if your child doesn't eat vegetables it's because you've failed as a parent, not because kids don't like them.

  • You give the best replys and comments.

    vegetables are better, i agree.

They are tasty...they don't taste like paper like mcdonalds crap.

But you gotta imagine we are all different and probably some people can't feel the good taste of the vegetables...i mean, our tongues are different.

  • You're right, I'm italian and we just "learn" i don't know...kinda naturally from our parents to desire vegetables and fruits.

I actually prefer them to crap fast food.

  • The vehicles are the majority of foods of the nutrition that you can eat, but often the children don' t has taste of them. How to be able to children to eat vehicles? Natalie explains a new study that helps interest... And one thing you gaotta think about is that everything children devour cant metabolate and they shit it out into the garden.

  • Thankses for the appraisal!, but i dont need it

  • Trick kids into eating veggies? What happened to the days of parents being parents, and the kids eating what theyre given to eat?

  • I would like a video about How to grow simple stuff at home

  • Hi Natalie! I just want to say how appreciative of what you are doing; trying to educate people in a fun way. You have a great personality and so full of knowledge! I was wondering if you could put up a video of the 10 healthiest vegetables and the 10 healthiest fruit? Thanks!

  • Personality??? Yeah right...

  • All that and a BRAIN too! Your still my favorite Natty.

  • Magnificent Natalie...... Keep Up These Great Videos!!!

  • Well as the family chef, all i can say is, "yay"!

Hmm gonna plant tomatoes, squash, basil, cilantro, peppers and i dunno what else come spring.

  • Wow great information, you got yourself a subscriber. ...And how can I not subscribe, when you're so damn cute.

  • thats surely right, but what is also worth to mention is the fact that many animals are going to die if they will continue to eat at fast food chain stores. And children like animals, dont they?

By the way, u are very cute :-)

  • kids old enough to help in kitchen can also get interested in veggies if they help cutting them for making a salad or something like that (if you don't put a disgusting dressing over it :-D)

  • in my experience kids like veggies if they're introduced to them early, and in a pure form. that is, raw and fresh. and if those kids aren't already spoiled by overspiced, "flavor enhanced", sweetened, artificially flavored processed food...

Little kids are curious about colorful raw veggies like sweet bell peppers and like to eat them raw, while "slushy" cooked-to-death veggies that lost their color and have to be spiced-up to have taste seem not to appeal to them.

  • Im gonna use that on my kid.

  • This is a great tip! I believe that anyone that gets more involved in the process of growing vegetables or fruits will begin to consume more because it helps them to appreciate how it is created.

  • Good Video!

  • you're hot!

  • very informative!

  • Great video! Good length, wonderful background, Natalie always looks so fresh and perky and even more so in this video. We gardened as kids and I do love veggies!

  • Very nice video Natalie! I totally agree with everything you said, if you exclude turnips and brussel sprouts! Feeding kids those are tantamount to child abuse, and should be banned by the Geneva Convention!

  • but the title shouldn't be how to "trick" them into eating it, these children were obviously naturally enthusiastic for fruits and veggies once they had a sincere connection to the earth...

  • Some very good advice - I don't have a child, but I do remember when I was a kid veggies weren't typically a staple in our house, nor were healthy foods...hmmmm, and I prefer candy over real food...

  • or just dont buy fast food and junk food..they eat what they got

  • wonderful. hands on all the way to a better world! another good thing is to limit tv or get rid of it all together... as its pretty much all rubbish ads. and one bad influence i know is other kids at school. my mom is vegi and would send me to school with healthy snacks while all the other kids had milk, oreos, cheetos and sodas. i was soooo jealous! i felt deprived :(

  • People watch commercials? Weird.

  • when they help you prepare the meal it's easier for them to feel exicted to eat it... as you go you can tell them why it's good for you...
