  • cool

  • Nice single frame added around 1:06. I don't think this is the only time he's done this. (Is it?)

  • i don't see what avisynth has to do with this??

  • thx

  • U dont mention about install avisynth after virtualdub

  • thanks for the tip!

  • I swear I've heard his voice saying "Congratulations, you've won!" O.O

  • does this work with vista?

  • So easy!! Many thanks.

  • its not working for me, it says error everytime i try to drag that avs to virtual dub

  • me too

  • its don´t work i have windows 7

  • @ninjadocktor1 download trakaxpc

  • It would be ironic if someone played this video in reverse

  • @101metallover He actually did but no one noticed it :P

  • omgosh so simple! xD

  • I did it!.. Thank you! ..... It´s the first one I do.. and the quality is not that good

I usede directshowource ("--")... and worked! hahaha I´m happy drunk squirrel! heheheh... thanks

  • I did this step by step. But i couldn't open any video's in VirtualDub... and i dragged it in there and an error came up

  • For all people that say don't work avisynth this is the solution:

In virtual dub change video to direct stream copy and audio to full processing mode and save as uncompressed audio. i could then use the file perfectly in avisynth.

Other solution is not use the audio video file and just work with the video, you could put AviSource("Mivideo.avi",false).

    I probed both solutions successfully.

  • its not working aaaaaahhhhhh

  • It does not work. If i drag the .avs in Vdub a Error appears:

"AVI Import Filter error: (Unknown) (80040154)"

    I used Virtual Dub 1.9.9

    need help please

  • hay sexy

  • Cool hidden lego stair pic, good hiding.

  • wenns nich geht, dann is die avi noch keine richtige avi datei

if it doenst work, the video is not a real avi file

    maybe winff can help u

    so, thx for vid

  • 0:30 "Avisynth is a scripting language for videos that may scare a few people but is actually really easy"

True! I wanted to give up when I heard 'scripting language' but actually it's really easy because you just need to type one line correctly!

  • Thanks for this video! I was able to reverse my video!

  • this won't work for me. i have tried just about everything.

  • i don't got that program

  • does it have to be AVI

  • you know theres an easer way to do this with only one program called LSmaker

it's so easy!!!!!!!!!!! just Google LSmaker and download it

  • Final Cut Pro is where its at! .....

  • @ecofoot1 Not all of us have that kind of cash. Besides i just spent a load on my new Video Camera. Filming buisness isn't to cheap.

  • @bloodezach

IK. Everyone has their own budget. I just feel that the investment is very much worth it. There is other cheeper software that is really good.

  • that did not work. this is not helpful to me.

  • yes you can do that with windows movie maker but it takes lots of time

  • ok, finnaly did it. Stupid that it always said the script would be wrong. seems to NEED the 1.7.3 Version.

    3 things left:

    1:@xGwennnN

does your cpu show you the "txt" after the filename? try to make him show it. forgot how to, just google it

2: @ akoyanerin: have to decompress it first. open the video in vd, follow "Video" --> "Compression...", choose "uncompressed RGB/Ycb...", save the video and try again

3: Avisynth? Dont't need it, do you? why using it, too? little bit confused...

  • @Xphazon what do you mean open the video in vd? I tried following his directions to reverse the video, but I keep getting error code 2.

  • @Xphazon thanks, helped a lot.

  • @Xphazon

Thank you so much for pointing out that you must use Vdub 1.7.3!!! Totally works now.

  • I cant chance the Type from txt. to avs?

    I have vista

how do you do that with vista?

  • it is not working once I try to drag it into virtualdub it says: "Avisynth open failure: AviSource could'nt locate a decompressor for forcc MJPG" what shall I do now?

  • virtualdub and shit 0:40 LOL!!

  • foh example huurs a kitteh walkin on a treadmill :D

  • Can you do that with Windows Movie Maker?

I don't have that video program...

  • Thanks. That was very cool and very helpful

  • dude i have a need your help can you make a video of how to do a split screen video using Avisynth and Virtualdub ? i need it so that that i can finaly combine my vids and combine a song with more than 1 instrument recoded?

  • that is AWESOME!!

  • why not just get a program that has a reverse function? or use editing software? for example, sony vegas! sooooooooo much easier...

  • Maybe because this video was made in 2007 and this guy wasnt exactly about quality when he made his videos.. which is why he stopped making videos because he cant keep up. :)

  • i know right?!?!?

  • everything works except when i drag the reverse to the video clip it wont let me

  • If you have a later version of AviSynth you may need to alter the text to

Reverse(AviSource("get_video.avi")) to get it to work properly.

Remember to replace "get_video.avi" with the full path of your video you wish to reverse. Since this video has been posted they have obviously changed the syntax of the AviSynth commands.

    Hope this helps.

  • Note: Follow the video tutorial but type the command with "Reverse(" at the beginning and the ")" at the end.

    The line should read:

    Reverse(AviSource("get_video.avi"))

    not

    AviSource("get_video.avi").Reverse()

    on later versions of AviSynth.

  • one word: GENIUS

  • Plz help me

when i drag reverse.avs into VirtualDub 1.9.6 i get some error:

    VirtualDub Error

    AVI Import Filter error: (Unknown)(80040154)

  • Thanks! nothing else works! AWESOME

  • DANKE!!!!!

    Es funzt perfekt!!!

Würde dir am liebsten 500 Daumen-hoch geben ;)

  • Hi when i drag the the .avs file to VirtualDUB a pop-up comes:

    virtualDub error

    AVIsource:couldnt locate a decompressor for forcc MP42

    (C:\users\Edwin0o\ desktop\Reverse.avs, line 1)

plz help me but anyway ty 4 the good tut's ;p

  • you rock dude!!!!!!

  • wow !

  • Can you save it after so you are able to use a new file?

  • Nice... Thx alot. And just for information to people who get the problem with "reverse.avs.txt," you can simply go to: start>all programs>accessories>notepad. Then, type up the text, go to file>save as, and type in reverse.avs ; You wont be getting the problem anymore.

  • Nice tutorial, but audio doesn't seem to work with this method. There is a person speaking in reverse in a video file I have and I want to know what he's saying. Any suggestions?

  • Thanks a bunch

  • It's THAT simple? Awesome.

  • He clearly says Avisynth. Googling that is too hard for you?

  • Dragging a text file reverse.avs.txt into VirtualDub doesn't do what is depicted.

My text doc holds on to extension .txt.

  • Whenever I do all of this exactly the same (with Virtualdub, avisynth, and ffdshow) It always says,

    "Avisynth open failiure:

    Script error: expected a , or )

    (C:\Documents and Settings\Ed\Desktop\reverse.avs, line 1, column 31) Whats wrong?

  • GAH mine does that to and no one will answer my question!

    :J

  • Nice tutorial, but why do you have blinking pictures on your video.. well doesnt matter, But how do you choose picture for your vid, I wanna RickRoll, Pls respond

  • thanks for sharing ....

  • I just did what you did in the video.. Every singel step worked for me =D...

  • do I have to download avisynth??

  • once you put your footage into this 'avisynth' is there a way to then save it.

If there is, then what format is it in?

    Would it still be avi?

Please feel free to message my youtube account.

  • Add:

P.S i attempted to do this, and was o.k until i tried to put the text file into windows movie maker....it said i needed a plugin,

if you could tell me a way to put it into movie maker i would greatly appreciate it

  • i get this error and it says, "Avisynth open failure:

AVISource autodetect: couldn't open file 'fast dance.avi'

    Error code:2

    (C:\Documents and Settings\Sean Meade\Desktop\reverse.avs, line 1)"

wat do i do about this

  • lol 1:05

  • I don't know much about scripting, but I have a related question. Instead of AviSource("MyVid").reverse() in the script, is there a command that could do selected frames? Something eqivalent to Selected.reverse()?

And can avisynth scripts like this work from the plugins folder?

If those worked, that would even be better than having to make a new script every time, and with a selection reverse I could not only make the cat go backwards, but even better and do the cha-cha-cha. lol. Is it possible?

  • it is possable to do yes there are script lines that you can enter that tell AVISynth what frames you want tho you are better off using virtual dub to make the clips of the frames you want and either using an editing program to splice them together or loading them into a new Avi synth script and splicing them together in there

  • my computer always says "AVI Import Filter error: (Unknown) (80040154)" EVERY SINGLE TIME I TRY THIS! Please HELP!

  • same error here

  • you MUST use the correct path to your footage... if your source is on your desktop them the path is

    AVIsource("footage.avi")

if its not then you would need to tell it the correct path lets say the clip is in the C: drive in projects folder

    AVISource("C:\projects \footage.avi")

also important make sure you have the parentheses AND the Quotation marks

one last thing the file MUST be a .avi to use AVISource if its not you may need to use

    DirectShowSource("footage.what your footage is")

  • when i save the new text doc to .avi there is no pop up that says "are you sure you want to save the type of file to .txt to .avi" or anything,

  • yeah same here. it stays as a text document. whatd you do/?

  • press yes.... thats what he said in video

  • lego crazy stairs

  • very usefull, thanks a lot!

  • my video flickers. whats up with that? can i get rid of it?

  • GAHH THANK YOU XD

  • This Is For Me Please Let me Have This Thank You

    Lol IM SPamming

  • haha..I had to watch it like 2-3 times to realize that it actually was in reverse. XD

  • same lol

  • Same with me!!

  • thx a lot :)

  • Take the .txt out obviously.

  • i watched this whole vidoe just to get the thumbnail at 1:06 IT WAS SO WORTH IT!

  • the error "C:\Documents and Settings\corey\Desktop\reverse.avs.txt" happens to me aswell

  • I get this error message:

the file "C:\Documents and Settings\mcndahouse\Desktop\reverse.avs.txt" is of an unknown or unsupported file type

  • Awesome! Just what I was looking for! Thanks!

  • Very interesting video.

Thanks! What about making transitions betwin scenes in videodub? You know, whipes, fades? stuff like that!!!

  • Good video but you should have had the camra be larger.

  • lol this is like the first video ever that th person filming doesnt sound drugged up lol nice vid

  • Keep up the good work on your Video.

Remember This Success is not to be pursued; it is to be attracted by the person you become.

    Have a Great day!

  • So I did exactly what your video said, but when I dragged it onto VirtualDub it said it was an unknown or unsuppored file type. I think it still came up as a text document..

  • same happened to me

  • What's every program that you need for this?

  • the .avs dosent work, it dosent change file format

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!

    PLAY VIDEOS BACKWARDS?

    9,"666"!!! 666!!

    DEEEEEEEMOOOON!!! lol

  • AviSynthで

    video = AviSource("foo.avi")

    video = video.Reverse()

    return video

    とかくだけです。

  • thankyou very much :D

  • i accidentally set mine to open with quicktime before i got avisynth so how do i get it to open with avisynth

  • First tut (of 3) from Avisynth-reversing that I understood and could follow.

    Thanks fer posting!!

  • there must b an easyer way 4 vista????

  • wrong everything is harder on vista i deleted my vistas and downgraded to XP 3 days after i got my computer

  • im downgradin my new laptop 2

  • never mind

  • dude it wont work!

  • Avi Import Filter Error -_-

  • I got that too, but I think you, just like me, don't have Avisynth installed...?

  • A subliminal Message at 1:06

  • Nah, he just wanted a picture, that's the middle of the video, its just legos lol.

  • thanks man i love u marry me

  • wow thats awesome and so easy and simple o_o

    thanks

  • when i try to rename is as video.avs

it stays as a text document

  • me to :(

  • That happened to me too, now I installed Avisynth and it worked but yeah it wasn't clear to me immidiately that Avisynth is a programm. I thought it was just a name for a script language that is already build into windows.

  • you have to save as if you open then save as

    name : video.AVS

save as type : all files

i have AVS not avs it works for me :D

  • can you use Windows movie maker instead of this virtualdub program?

  • When I drag it, it says VitualDub does not support the file type?

  • chadtyman use use 'Open via AviSynth' menu command, first make sure you have working scripts in the 'templates' directory in your VirtualDub directory.

  • if all else fails, install "AVIsynthesizer"

  • Have you downloaded AviSynth? It's not native to Virtualdub and you have to download the scripting language environment first. Google "AviSynth" and you'll find it online.

  • wow dude! Crazy legos! and this rly helps me wit hmy upcomeing mind games vid once i get my camra back from my mom lol

  • thank u i love these how 2s

  • its not avvy synth u goomba its A.V.I synth

  • haha.. i was laughing at that too.. And he also said D Vix.. on another video.. LOL It's D.i.v.X

  • for some reason VLC player wont open the file! it will open the original but not the .avs

  • I like the desktop capture "camerawork" in this vid. How'd you manage that? Usually I'd have to choose between a fullscreen desktop capture or a small region of the desktop, and I move everything I want to capture into -that-.

Anyway, favorited & subscribed and stuff...

  • I have the same problem

  • When I try it it doesn't work. When I name the txt file ".avs" it doesn't change to the other Icon, it stays a txt file, so when I try to import it it says that virtualdub doesn't recognize the extension.

    Help, anyone?

  • my problem is the same as lohb's. help, anyone? :D

  • you gotta go to Tools -> Folder Options -> Hide Extension known file type thing.. Uncheck that box.. (in Explorer)

  • wow crazy stairs with lego peices at 1:05 if ur quick

  • i find subliminal messaging in all his videos

  • it's working but it's way too slower.. why?

  • Works with VirtualDub-1.7.6

    Thank you Jimmy!!

  • does not work -> VD 1.6.19 -> AVI Import Filter error: (Unknown) (80040154); VD 1.5.1 -> Cannot determine file type of ... (the avs file I made) ; which version of virtual dub do i need?

  • I have the same version. 1.7.3 and it still does not work. Sorry, not sure why, are there other things that need to be downloaded?

  • UPDATE: The file can not have an audio track when trying to do this feature. When I converted a .mov file to .avi I made sure to take the audio track out and once I did that, it worked.

  • how you can take the audio track out ???? smirv ???

  • this doesn't work witht he newest version of VD.

  • doens´t work either :|

  • what the hell its not working

  • do u have VirtualDub 1.7.7? i think it may be, that this video was using an older version of VirtualDub. the creator might have changed this function.

  • thank you, its useful :)

  • everytime i drag the reverse.avs onto virtualdub it stopps responding

  • i have avisynth and virtual dub but it still doesnt work

  • thanks, worked great!! for anyone having problems; you need to install avisynth and it probably doesn't like spaces in the video filenames.

  • I've tried it tons of times it doesn't work!

  • do u have to have virtualdub?

  • the only time one of your videos never worked for me
