i had never heard of brandon sanderson until i read his book in the wheel of time series which i must add i think he did an excellent job of. so i decided to read his mistborn trilogy and am so glad i did, what a story that was, i could'nt put em down. i cant wait for the next book he will be writing for the wheel of time. keep it up B.
Duh? It's obviously fan made, just like pretty much every other trailer on YouTube for movies that don't actually exist. How could there be anything about Mistborn in this video if no actual footage for the subject material exists?
He could have filmed somthing himself, or drew illistrations. And even though they are the same genre (epic fantasy), they are still different storys that do not coincide.
The author Brandon Sanderson would disagree with you. He considers Mistborn to be a take on the Lord of the Rings-style epic fantasy during which the evil lord has actually prevailed and essentially laid waste to civilization.
most fantasy books get some insperation from lord of the rings, but what I mean is; taking a few scenes from lord of the rings and mixing them up then calling it a mistborn trailer doesn't make sense.
We don't see any of the mistborn characters at all, the sky isn't full of ash, the plants aren't brown, no one is using alamancy. you might as well have scenes from alice in wonderland or Batman (he could pass as a steel inquisitor).
Started reading Mistborn a few weeks ago, i was a bit skeptical. Now... it's so dang amazing... not finished yet... Kelsier was just back handed by the Lord Ruler.... I ..uh.. i cried....
The whole trillogy is amazing, it gets better and better.
There are some very emotional parts though.
Still, I haven't cried reading a book or watching a movie since my ex GF forced me to watch The Notebook (I didn't cry coz it's sad, I cried becuase I didn't want to watch it) lol.
I recommend Anything written by david gemmell.
I think I'll read Robert Jordans wheel of time series next.
If you've finished this excellent trilogy try patrick rothfuss' NAME OF THE WIND. It's quite an excellent epic debut or Scott Lynch's THE LIES OF LOCKE LAMORA.
Dude, I like the Mistborn trilogy. I am currently reading the third book which is Hero of Ages. I need to find a new good book after I finish reading the Hero of Ages.
I love The Mistborn Series! This was actually pretty good. The third book is coming out 10/10/08 and a movie is supposed to come out this winter. Im excited!
I haven't heard anything about a movie, and I follow his blog pretty closely. I know that Alchatraz was ~opted~ (which means that dreamworks has the rights to make the movie first) but there's still little about if that's moving forward or not.
There has been no official mention of a movie for Mistborn. I talk to Brandon semi-regularly and follow his blog almost religiously as well as chat on his forums.
This is no longer true. As of early this month (February 2010) Brandon Sanderson has sold the film rights to a small, independent production company. Unfortunately this likely means that the project will never see the light of day.
whats up with frodo??? QQ

Everything was great except the music, and I'd never thought of it but the hobbits really look like mistborn :() (cloak, barefeet, etc..)

sure, just search mistborn english project.
it's basically a couple of teenagers filming black and white. they are planning the scar rebellion.
but good on them for trying..

um, I don't see how this fan made trailer relates to the book at all.. sorry.
I like LOTR, but I mean theres no similarity.
Wheres Vin? spook? The survivor?
why is everyone on a horse, there weren't that many horses in the book. I didn't see any metal pulling...
Still, I'm glad theres so much interest in mistborn, great series!

hmm, I don't get much time for reading these days. I just got through the hitchhikers series.
Maybe I'll download the series in audiobook format. Then I can listen to it while I'm working.
