I had a 2009 GE profile. By 2011 it was a DOA profile. It is now on it's way back to China as scrap. Never again. I found a 1992 Maytag with no control boards and I am going to keep fixing it until I am DOA.
They are both such beautiful machines. Strong transmissions and built to last. I especially like the 14 push button design with the full length flourescent illumination over the control panel on the green machine.
I think that the real test of the two agitators would be to see how quickly they pull the load under after the rinse fill. My mom's Kenmores used to have trouble with air getting trapped under the sheets during the rinse fill and unless you pushed the sheet under water, the RotoSwirl would tug it back and forth, but not pull it under during the rinse period.
Never seen that 1968 Kenmore agitator design on the right, just saw a few other posts with that design, one guy called it the Spank-O-lator? The left machine looks like the Rotoswirls from the mid 60's, identical except they were black rubber!
PS. Please raise the tops on these machines and clean off the white porcelain splash tops.
The rotoflex vanes look like they could be brutal on clothes if they caught.. I'd prefer a 57 Lady Kenmore in any pastel offered, actually. (grin).

two very nice well built machines. When i was a kid my parents a a 1972 that was very similar to the green one.

Mmmm, I wouldn't mind either one of these old beauties. Bet they'd outwash my Kenmore Elite HE3t Steam washer.

I did notice the agitation stroke on the 900 with the roto flex isn't as long as on the 700 with the roto swirl.
