I think the skull of afarensis looks more like the Paranthropus than Australopithicus.

Habilis looks very much like Australopithicus and is only classed as Homo because of the tool use and the need to get the credit for finding the earliest Homo. (Scientists are also human) I would place the habilis as Australopithicus and use Homo for the ergaster, which shows significant changes in the cranial and post-cranial structure.

To create more problems for human evolution, humans have 223 new or different genes (at least 20-30 million years of evolution), and the earliest known humans simply appear in the fossil record 450,000 years ago with no clear ancestors. We may have evolved near the water or even resulted from some extraterrestrial intervention.
